Not sure if anyone’s been following this drama, but a puzzle seller on Etsy claimed that Carson (S44) stole their ideas for selling 3-D printed Survivor puzzles, and that he actually bought puzzles from their shop to practice on before doing his season (so I guess not printing them himself like he claimed).

The seller said they met with Carson post season and he was asking them all sort of questions about marketing and business tactics, and they suggested a partnership idea with him.  Instead, he allegedly took their ideas and all the info they gave him and used it to start his own Survivor puzzle business without giving them any sort of credit.

    https://www.usmagazine.com/entertainment/news/survivor-44s-carson-garrett-accused-of-stealing-puzzle-ideas/

How could either of them start a Survivor puzzle business?  I could be wrong here, but wouldn't anything with the Survivor name on it, if used to make a profit, need to be aprroved by CBS?  I thought it was illegal to do that.  Unless CBS is handing out licenses to use their name for this, but huge corporations are not known for that. They'll probably both get cease and desist letters from CBS lawyers now that it's made the news.

Can someone clarify if my thoughts are accurate or not?

ETA: I just reread and it doesn't say if either of them are using the Survivor name, so this might not be an issue at all.

  2. I wonder how things would play out if the winning tribe only won immunity, and the losing tribe got the...whatever...  Unless it was a reward challenge, of course.

Not that it would be super awesome to watch, but it would at least be different.  This is getting very stale.  Isn't the punishment of losing immunity that you have to cut someone? But no, may as well hit the tribe with a cattle prod on the way out so they are even weaker than before.  Then Jeff can comment on how sucky they're performing at the next challenge, and at tribal, discuss the huge mystery of the orgin of the tribe's struggle. Major turn off.

I also am bored of the three tribe set-up every season. Jeff said it's because smaller tribes make it harder to hide, but not really imo, because it makes it extremely easy for most of the people on at least one tribe to hide. They don't even have to show their cards for a good while.  So I think he's wrong about that.

I got a good laugh when the yellow (?) tribe was imagining the challenges and rewards that might await them.  That was so funny to me and I rewound it a couple times.

How awful for Gabe; he has always seemed a sensitive soul and that kind of shock will never leave him.

So now comes the soul searching. Was it related to Kootie and his indifference/downright dislike of his sons?  Would it have happened if every piece of their lives had not been televised and rehashed on social media?  Will Janelle second guess herself about not leaving that sham of a marriage sooner than she did?  With a suicide there is always the need for something or someone to blame.

Yes, the 'what-if's' can consume people. And it's just something that can never be fully known, even if some parts seem obvious.  Death is hard enough, but suicide brings a completely new level of anguish. At the very least, I hope it doesn't fracture the main part of the family that has remained together.  You are right people often need someone to blame, because anger is easier to handle than grief for some people.

  4. The thing that really stood out to me was that Christine was definitely ready to jump David's bones the entire episode, even aside from the lap dance. 🫣😅  I know bedroom eyes when I see them.  She looks at him like that even in their TH's together.  I don't know how she made it through the party. Maybe they snuck off at some point to make extra sure Christine was properly divorced.  Although I'm pretty sure she'd been good and divorced many times by then 🫢😉🤣.

  5. I am super pissed right now because I do not have this episode on D+. It's 11 pm MST and should have been available hours ago, like every other week. I have reset my Roku and logged in and out of D+ and...nothing. Everyone else here seems to have it, so what gives. F me in particular, I guess. 😡

What was his point by coming up with this bizarre statement? Does anyone think maybe pool boy is toying with the idea of finding another sister wife so that he can go to TLC and say see the show can continue as Sister Wives. Because as things stand now I don't see how this show can continue.

IMO, it won't continue past another season, maaaybe two, because viewership right now is due to finally getting to see some truth, however slowly they drip-feed it to us.  But that can't go on for long. Unless they completely drop anyone it will likely keep the same name because TLC isn't going to spend any money 'rebranding' these people. Name accuracy doesn't matter unfortunately, MTV has a show with 30 yo women called 'Teen Mom'.

Actually, what Christine was saying was that it is NOT the case that you have to sleep with someone else for your marriage to be officially dissolved. Robyn said that she would have to do that (as shown in the flashback), but Christine said that was absurd and untrue.

I understand.  Before Christine said it wasn't true, she jokingly said it was the last step, as a dig at Robyn, (not verbatim), then laughed her ass off and said she was joking and it wasn't true, that she'd never heard that in her life. That's why it was funny.  And I wish I got to watch Robyn watch it.

You can’t gloat over winning the man when nobody else wants him anymore. I guess Robyn didn’t think that far ahead. It’s going to take someone really sheltered and stupid or someone who wants to golddig on what’s left of the reality fame to join this family and let Robyn live her polygamy dream. Please somebody call up one of the skanks from Flavor or Love or Rock of Love, etc. to dethrone Robin.

Ahahaha, skanks.  I love that word and haven't heard it in a while. It needs to make a comeback.  😆

LOL! at Robyn saying she and her kids got voted off The Brown Family Island. No, witch. You executed a coup of a banana republic, everyone fled and now you are stuck with the ringlet curled knuckle dragger on the Island of Misfit Plygs and all the lifeboats have holes in them (which you drilled) and you can't swim. Have fun!

I love this analogy! 😆  But also, I would proudly vote those people out of my life.  I would looove to hear Robyn say that, followed by a cutaway to Janelle or Christine saying, with authority, 'Yes we did! We suuure did!'.  It's a good thing to cut out disease, Robyn.

I wonder if, when they set up the Brown Family LLC or whatever entity the family used to contract with and be paid by TLC, they included some sort of non-compete to prevent the core family members from contracting and being paid as individuals? I’m sure they also included a non-disclosure to prevent them from discussing the terms of their contract.

Ooohh, that is something I hadn't thought of at all.  I could see it both ways because Kody would love to bind the wives to this, but to do so he'd have to bind himself as well. I wonder which part of him would win out!  The only reason I don't think they have a non-compete at this time is because we know Kody and Robyn established their own entertainment LLC. And if I remember correctly Janelle established her own LLC as well, although I don't know if it's an entertainment LLC.  If there is an NDA I hope it has an expiration date because I need one of the OG's to spill it! 😁

I assume she's talking about separating the family income streams/ monies in general, right?  Like when she told Sobyn she was "moving her business" she meant "out of Sobyn's reach"... but hasn't actual said that out loud and it appears Sobyn just doesn't even slightly see what is obviously coming.

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. If that's the case there really doesn't need to be any conversation at all then. Just don't deposit anymore money in the 'family' pot. No convo needed and don't answer their calls. 😄  Regarding show money, there isn't shit that Kody and Robyn can do if the other wives insist on negotiating their own contracts with TLC.  That's between them and the network.  The money that has already been unequally distributed is probably a lost cause.

Although now that I think of it, at this time they were all still in the Coyote Pass private loan debacle together, minus Christine.  So that sucks for them, but they all saw what was going on and still fell for it, so 🤷‍♀️. 😉😁  Meri would be fine, but Janelle really stepped in it financially.

(Robyn is too busy intentionally misinterpreting everything everyone has ever said to polish up her victimhood crown.)

Oh, except Robyn doesn't allow herself to wallow in victim mentality, remember?  She just dusts herself off and makes it happen. 🙄😂😂

  13. Robyn got a little pissed there when Meri said Kody should do something about what's making him so angry.  'What is he supposed....', then remembers she's on camera and dials it back a notch. She let her mask slip again.

Rerun today.  JJ really intensely dislike a plaintiff that she was going to grand the judgement to and then gives a list of what she thinks she is:  "unladylike, unneighborly, foul mouthed, bad tempered...(to the son) what's so funny?"  Son: "You just, like, named off all the things she is".  Even JJ laughed.

I'm sick at home with the flu so thanks JJ for cheering me up.

I think about this a lot.  Lol  I have tried to find a clip, but no luck.

Yeah, I don't know if it was the straw that broke the camel's back, but according to Christine, Gwendlyn was trying to ease the tension, and it backfired, but I didn't get the feeling Christine or anyone was blaming Gwendlyn. The whole group text was going south anyhow.

I don't think anyone who matters was blaming Gwen for anything, but I got the impression that the comment was just the final nail, out of thousands of nails, in the coffin. I do need to go back and refresh my memory though.

I know, right? From the way Christine mentioned that Gwendlyn said something to ease the tension, and it was taken the wrong way, this is what I'm imagining:

    • The kids were talking about their sibling gift exchange
    • Robyn barged into to insist they did the name-drawing on a video chat
    • The siblings thought it was too much hassle to find a time when they were all available and not working, but not also putting younger kids to bed, and yada yada
    • Robyn made it all about her and her butthurt feelings
    • Probably other people were then getting a little heated
    • So then Gwen said the thing about having an idea, but not being emotionally attached to it

The joke part of Gwendlyn's statement would be the "but I'm not emotionally attached to it," bit, to tease Robyn, and whoever else was getting hot under the collar.

It was a pretty dang mild joke (but also pretty funny imo).

Ok, so I can see the dig if it was a reference to Robyn’s emotional neediness.  An emphasis on 'I'm' would be the only thing that would make that phrase a bit of a dig, still mild as hell though. And honestly, emotionally needy people are tiring and annoying, and it was probably worth the blow back. 😄  If this was the straw that broke the camels back...wow.  I bet if they knew that was going to be the bridge burner, I'm sure some of them would just take the gloves completely off.
