  1. Okay, this one I LOVED. I also thought it was over after the Tuco thing, and I was surprised that it was only halfway through. Some things I really liked:

*Point-of-view shots (from Tuco's cutting board, from inside the coffee maker, from Saul's vantage point on the ground in the desert). Nice way to tie it to BB without being too overt. Totally makes sense that Michelle MacLaren directed.

*Loved that RC decided to play Tuco pre-meth problem. Lots of anger, but still able to be reasoned with (sort of). Also loved when Jimmy started to talk to him. "An eye for an eye, you want me to BLIND them?" Like, to him, that was a totally reasonable option. Tuco is one of those characters you would never want to meet personally, under ANY circumstances, but is a thoroughly entertaining person to watch from the comfort (and safety) of your couch. ;-)

*Loved that his "desert courtroom" scene gave him some mojo. I really don't think I could've hung on too much longer with downtrodden Jimmy.

*Also loved that Jimmy was able to sway just about everyone EXCEPT Mike. Doing some character building with Mike without him having to say anything but "You need more stickers." HE'S not buying what Jimmy's selling, and he never will. :-)

*Really like the Nacho character, and I like that he was introduced through a character that BB fans already know and are invested in. Now, even with Tuco not visible, there is a tie-in and an automatic reason for us to be interested in Nacho (and great catch about his real name, Ignacio!).

*I definitely felt the suspense in the desert, even knowing that Jimmy would make it out. When he started walking away thinking the skater twins were going to die (most likely a gruesome, drawn-out death), there was real tension -- first, whether Jimmy could live with himself knowing those two died because of him, and second, whether Jimmy could talk Tuco out of killing them.

*Jimmy: "I just talked you down from a death sentence to six months probation. I'm the BEST lawyer ever."

Not super loving Chuck yet, but I'm also willing to give that story some time. We'll see. I am definitely in.

  2. Hmmmm...watched it last night. Couldn't stay awake (it was on SO late!). Maybe it was my frame of mind (or perhaps I was in a fugue state ;-), but I wasn't loving it last night. I had to keep reminding myself that I almost bailed on Breaking Bad after three episodes, so I tried to stay patient. I watched the rest this morning and liked it a lot better. Maybe the second half moved faster than the first half, so that had something to do with it. I don't want it to move TOO fast, but I don't know how much more of mopey, put-upon Jimmy I can take. I loved Saul for his wise-cracking, snappy, whip-smart self. I didn't even like it when Walter intimidated him to the point that Saul couldn't look him in the eye. To me, something is lost in the character when that happens. But, I agree that he had to start somewhere, and I noticed that when he was explaining the plan to the skateboarders, he was much more upbeat and faster talking. So, maybe he's finding his niche, the place where he's comfortable.

Was unspoiled on the Tuco thing until this morning. Made the mistake of reading this board before I watched the rest of the episode. Won't do that again. lol

I think it's possible for Jimmy/Saul to come into contact with just about any of the criminals from Breaking Bad, so it will be fun to see who pops up (Krazy-8 was in a Dr. Pepper commercial on the streaming feed). Of the main BB characters, I can see Hank making the most sense to appear. Saul would definitely have good reason to interact with him. Wasn't Hank the first main character he talked to in BB, when he went to represent Badger?

Definitely going to give this a chance.

  3. This is probably a VERY unpopular opinion, but I can't STAND to watch the scene where Monica proposes to Chandler. I love the idea of it, and I love the setup (especially the look Joey gives Chandler right before he shuts the door). But, for some reason, both of their cries sound so forced to me. It takes me out of the scene because I am suddenly painfully aware that they are actors playing these two parts. Honestly, as much as I relate to Monica (and I love CC), I didn't really like any of her crying scenes.

  4. Y is for Yemen, where Chandler had to go because he had told Janice he was moving there (to 15 Yemen Street, Yemen) and she wouldn't leave the airport until she saw his plane take off.

  5. I am trying really hard to find the words to convey what I was thinking when Kenya started in on her "song and dance" number, and all I can come up with is that I wish I could unhear it. Seriously, what in the fresh hell WAS that? And then she was talking about how excited all of the guests were to see her perform? It was too much for me to take. That right there was some Geraldo-level delusion.

I knew who Kate was, but I only watched her on DWTS. She was horrible, awful then, so I was expecting to hate her, but actually...not so much. I loved how she was able to not only dial Geraldo back but also to deal with Sig's completely unreasonable and totally unprofessional tantrum, which should've gotten him fired on the spot (of course, I thought Geraldo should've been fired with that obnoxious phone conversation he had in front of the execs a few weeks back, so what do I know?).

  6. Hi, all. Just wanted to share some of my least favorite Carrie moments, in no particular order. Anything related to Natasha during the affair -- hanging out in their apartment after doing the deed, ruining Natasha's lunch, etc. I get that Natasha wasn't "real" to Carrie, but the show went kind of beyond that, IMO. Also hated any time she told Aidan to give her space, and then he'd comply, and then she'd get pouty because he wasn't paying attention to her. I'm thinking about the time that she kept trying to call him after she told him he was "too available." He did what she asked him to do, and then she got upset. And the time already discussed when she told him she wanted to be left alone at the end of the day. So, now there she is sitting by herself in a chair, her boyfriend leaving her alone like she asked him to do, and she couldn't even stand it for two minutes before she was up in his lap. I would've gotten whiplash dating her. I also hated any time she squealed or batted her eyes a million times (that happened a lot towards the end of the series). It made her look and sound so immature. And speaking of immature, there is a scene when the girls are having picnic lunch and catching up, talking about what's going on in their lives. Miranda says something like, "Let's see: work, work, sleep, work." Or something like that. And Carrie says, "Let's see: Aidan, Aidan, Aidan...and Aidan." It just bugs me that a thirty-something woman with a pretty fabulous career finds that the ONLY thing she has going on in her life is her boyfriend. Weird. Possibly my LEAST favorite Carrie moment, though, is when Big comes out to the country house with Aidan. I know it was Big who did the driving out there, but every time I watch the scene of Big sitting there dumping his problems all over the place, and then he gets too drunk to drive and stays the night, I get really annoyed (I mean, good on them for not letting him drive, but, seriously). And Aidan has to just sit there and be okay with all of this. Maybe that's more of a least favorite BIG moment, but Carrie had a hand in getting him out there. Ugh, I always felt bad for poor Aidan.
