  1. Can't say I agree with the poor Kenya angle at all. For one thing, Kenya flirted with Apollo and let it be known to anyone who would listen that she wanted him. Next, when he texted her, the honorable thing to do was not text back. She knew what she was doing and no, she is no innocent in this mess. As for text-gate in general, KENYA started that ball rolling when SHE brought it up at the reunion. Phaedra knew about the texting but chose not to bring it up in public. Kenya, on the otherhand, had no problem bringing it up just to hurt Phaedra. It backfired on her and now she wants vendication? I do not feel she deserves it. She brought it on herself and have no one to blame for her "tarnished" reputation but her. No one knew about the texting but her and the Nidas. Phaedra was prepared to keep it that way but Kenya wanted to hurt her and what better low blow than to let Phaedra know that she couldv'e had her husband if she so chose.

It is like Phaedra is getting slapped both ways by everyone because she loved the wrong man.

Thanks. You said it all. Kenya is owed nothing. She still flirted with Phaedra's husband on national television. The texts were just one part of the issue. Kenya is still grimy, messy, lowdown, and crazy.

  2. But the successful, "well-known" black women who DO get married at late 30s-40ish don't seem to be having much luck post-altar. See: Shepherd, Sherri; Jones, Star; Parks, Phaedra; McMillan, Terri ….

Maybe they're better off just having permanent "fiancés" like Jennifer Hudson, Oprah and Jennifer Aniston.

And then there are the ones who are doing just fine like Angela Bassett, Janet Jackson, Lela Rochon, Melody Hobson, Kerry Washington, and Viola Davis. There are others, but that's off the top of my head. "Late" marriage isn't the problem. Being a black woman isn't the problem. Picking the wrong men is the problem.

  3. OK, I love Shannon and am completely on her side but she sounded crazy when she kept saying "Tamra told me Terry said it. So tonight I asked her if she said it and she didn't so I dropped it." Wha? I feel like she was trying to say she couldn't get Tamra to admit to it, but she was tiptoeing around it so much that it didn't sound plausible.

That said, I still believe her.

    Heather and terry are assholes.

  4. That truck he drove off in was his wedding gift to Kandi. She has a pic of it on her IG and says that she had always wanted a truck and Todd bought it and was supposed to give it to her at the rehearsal dinner ad a surprise. She even says "we were sitting there arguing about a prenup and I had no idea the truck he bought me was sitting right outside."

Perhaps that's why Todd was so irritated.

  5. There's a Bible scripture that says something like 'it is better to live on the corner of the roof than to live with a nagging wife.' Sexist , yes, but now I get it. Shannon is that wife. Good lord woman, let the man have some chips. As others have said, picking your battles is KEY in a marriage/partnership.

That said, I felt so bad for Shannon last night. Heather Dubrow is an awful person. I can't stand her or her husband. That swooping in to take Shannon's drink bullshit wasn't funny at all.

I no longer like Lizzie either. I never liked Tamara so meh.

  6. Lol I know what you meant Walnutqueen.

Am I the only one who fast forwards through the intros to these shows? They all (especially 48 hours on CBS which basically gives an abstract of the entire case) give way too much info for me to enjoy the mystery aspect. So annoying.

  7. I enjoyed the season premier of Southern Fried Homicide. Great mystery, a case (which turned out to be related to 8 other cases) I hadn't seen before, and it profiled a black serial killer (rarely discussed) who turned out to be the first documented case of a serial killer who knew all of his victims.

    Keep it up ID!

  8. This hasn't been mentioned yet but I love Joey and the broken fridge and him trying to weasel money out of his friends. It was absurd but it's my favorite if only for the look on Ross's face when Joey just pushes him into the fridge with no warning and Chandler is standing there like wtf?

  9. Im not sure why you quoted me because I never said she apologized to Kenya. I said I think she's sorry for what she did. I truly believe she wishes it had never happened.

Eta: tried to quote Wimminwinning but it didn't take.

  10. Thank you! I was thinking why is everyone acting like Cara Maria is some kind of hero for staying? She's a straight-up dumbass!

Because she is LITERALLY fighting for her life on this challenge! @@

But seriously, I agree. I'm sure she had to sign all kinds of releases so that when she causes major damage to her hand, the challenge folks won't have to cover any of it. And since she's hurt, she has less of a chance of winning money so if she does end up having to have surgery, she'll be paying out of her savings if she has any. IDIOT.

  11. Well the way Poussey or any other person speaks has nothing to do with being a thug, but beyond that point, why would she pretend? She's in prison (and did something to get there). She basically is a thug, along with Piper and Taystee and every other woman in Litchfield.

  12. Word. Kandi is surprisingly...something...dense or oblivious maybe? A little selfish in her own right? I really didn't like that she assumed her staff would plan her wedding. For something as lavish as she wants that's a full time job. I could see introducing her staff to her wedding planner and letting them know they'll probably be dealing with this person a lot, but expecting them to take on another full time job, one that is filled with emotional drama and situations where they will have no choice but to piss off either Kandi, Todd, or Mama Joyce? I wouldn't want to do that either. Same thing with expecting Todd to endlessly try and talk things out with Mama Joyce. She doesn't really ask, she just expects.

I think she's both dense and oblivious. I say this because I follow her on Instagram and she posts pics of Joyce and tells people to tune in. She actually yhe thinks her mother's antics are funny and she thinks people TUNE IN for Joyce and to be entertained by Joyce.

I have lost all respect for Kandi. That she refuses to see how toxic her mother is and how much her comments and behavior have hurt the people she loves just tells me how delusional she is. I can't even wrap my brain around it.

  13. I didn't really find it that funny- it was uncomfortable really. But what I did find a bit weird was that the guy didn't seem bothered by it at all. That 'lets' it be a bit funny. If he was recoiling in horror, then it wouldn't be funny at all.

He was definitely uncomfortable. You could see his jaw tighten at one point. But the show seemingly played it for laughs given that it was part of a funny montage of Cindy sucking at her job.

  14. It's evil of me but I laughed out loud when Cindy molested that fine young man during the pat down. But yeah, I generally found her back story to be frustrating in the sense that I felt no sympathy for her. I just felt for her poor mother and sisterdaughter.

  15. Kandi may be a size 6 ABOVE the waist but her hips, ass, and thunder thighs definately scream size 14 or 16. I snorted out loud and scared the dog when Kandi's delusional ass said she was a size 6.

On rewatch, I noticed that Kandi said "I'm in a size 6" which, well, she probably IS judging by how her pants look like they're bursting at the scenes

She should be in an 8 or 10 but she's squeezing into a 6. Kandi, girl stop.

  16. Then we have people like Taystee who spent her entire life looking for a family. Is she better off never having one and being left to the streets and someone like Vee who pretends to love her but only uses her? Suzzanne's mother tried to love her but failed not because she didn't try but only because she was unable to understand her needs.

As I said, it's great that she gave her a home and she definitely meant well.

  17. Suzanne's mom was one of those well meaning white people who missed the mark a little. She adopted a 1) black child who 2) had serious issues. She placed her in an all white environment and then tried to force her to fit in. It was a disaster on many levels.

It's great that she gave Suzanne a home but clearly some things were missing. In one moment, Vee gave Suzanne some of what she missed out on all her life.

This season is going to be so interesting with the racial dynamics coming more into the forefront. I love where they're going with this!
