Thanks for linking that interview.  Jeff has his perspective and we have ours.  However, I think he is forgetting about the mental breakdowns in the earlier seasons (some of which actually led to evacuations [Kathy, Brandon, etc.]).

Yep. And as far as physical demands and his contention that new era players are hungrier, remember Elizabeth Hasselback from S2 who was pulling out chunks of her hair and had lost the weight of "a fourth grader" from eating so little? Sorry, Jeff, we're not buying it.

It did to me too but that’s how it was spelled in the press release and episode description on my guide.  The spelling drove me crazy but I would have been equally going crazy if I didn’t spell it like they had it-for me it was lose/lose lol

@LadyChatts Right, it was spelled that way on my guide as well. My annoyance was directed at the producers, never at you! ❤️

  3. I have nothing much to add that hasn't been said. I was on pins and needles hoping Q wouldn't play his idol. I'm happy he's gone but now I'm worried Maria will pull a Kelly Wigglesworth or a Mike what's his name (from whatever the name of that terrible season was) and win all the remaining challenges. I respect her strength, agility, steadiness of hand and puzzle ability, but that doesn't mean I have to like her.

Call me OCD but the episode title spelling of "Mamma" Bear looks odd and rubs me the wrong way.

  4. Netfoot, those pictures are stunning. What a beautiful island!  Totally get why you're disappointed. Talk about missed opportunities.

I didn't care for Angie and Danny either but they sure as heck got a raw deal with this debacle and I'm sorry they had to exit under such a cloud of controversy.

  5. I'm a savant in some categories but they'd be too specific for this show, like X-Files, or Game of Thrones, or ABC soaps, lol. I would choose mythology if they'd allow it, or classic rock.

I loved the Idioms category last night and knew them all, although I'm side-eyeing some of them being idioms (objects in mirror may be closer than they appear??). The few text clues they've had are easier for my brain to comprehend quickly than the picture clues. Some of those are hard to get without context, like a life-sized golf tee, lol, and some are hard to see, period. I could barely make out the white air pods.

Anyway, I'm loving everything about this show and hoping Fox renews it. Go Steve!

Ed burned his vote. Kyland burned his vote too, right? I can't remember who the other one was who voted for Cory.

Cory voted for himself. Kyland didn't get a vote. Cory's on the bubble with Jay, he basically said in this episode that he's only sticking with him for now because Michele has been advocating for him. Now that Jay is pissed at Michele and Cory helped secure Asaf's fate with his burned vote, I expect to see Cory be the next of Jay's alliance to go if they're in a similar position as this episode. Ed and Emanuel will be pushing hard for it of course

I just hope, now that teams are done so presumably only one daily winner will have safety, that the other side will be able to finally send Jay's smug mug home. I'm at the point where I can't stand looking at him.

Everyone knew Bruce had an idol, and he just doesn't play it? So confused on this. He knew votes were going to be split between him and Jake. Did he really think Julie was going? Play your idol anyway to be completely safe. Oh, well, Bruce did it to himself.

Yes, it seems Emily succeeded in convincing him that Julie would be the target for the four non-Rebas, and that the Reba 4 would be splitting their votes between Bruce and Jake, in which case, numbers-wise, Bruce wouldn't need to play his idol. Emily said in her interview that was her strategy.

When they showed the votes at the end, 3 Rebas voted for Jake, with Julie voting for Bruce, so if Emily had been sincere and not simply gaslighting Bruce, Julie would have indeed gone home.

It will be interesting to see if Emily takes credit in the immediate aftermath for her part in Bruce not playing his idol, possibly risking Julie's ire, or keeps that nugget in her pocket for a potential F3 speech.

this guy finished runner-up to Kaycee thanks to a bitter jury? That was what  I was hearing. I understand Monte had a similar story.

Uh, no. The only person who would claim that is Monte himself, lol.  Not to get too off topic but that couldn't be further from the truth, Taylor 100% earned her victory and the jury was genuinely thrilled for her, not "bitter"  towards Monte, who was pretty meh and kind of forgettable on BB just like he was on the Challenge.

Josh, yeah I'll give you that one, lol. Paul lost more than Josh won.

I was thinking more along the lines of what if the contestant is white and the relative through marriage is black (or vice versa, etc.).

    14 hours ago, QQQQ said:

Are there any "rules" or understandings about how the player is related to the famous person? So often they say how the player looks like so-and-so, but if the connection can be through marriage i.e. not genetic, that could also be an advantage.

This article someone else linked here previously explains that the contestants must be "directly" related to their celebrity relatives. It implies they made an exception for Carly. They probably couldn't resist the Tom Hanks connection, to the point where they basically sabotaged her with the obvious clues, lol.

because I'm really curious about "Yacht Rock".  I feel like I've seen this category on this show before and I still don't know what it is.  Is it songs that you would feel at home listening to on a sailboat or on a beach?  Like "Come Sail Away" by Styx?

You might think so, but no, Styx isn't yacht rock. Awhile back, without knowing the precise definition but having a vague sense of it, I told my co-workers that yacht rock was "schlocky music from the late 70s and early 80s". They were kind of offended, lol. When I think of the epitome of a yacht rock artist Christopher Cross comes to mind.

Oh, here you go, this is pretty interesting:

Thanks, pezgirl. I see that it's going to re-air on Thursday, so that will save me from having to sit through all the commercials On Demand. 👍

I hear you, On Demand is a last resort for me. If you don't want to wait till tomorrow, you can try ABC's site. It was commercial free for me. You have to sign in with your provider, but they accept streaming providers also, not just cable.

I'm looking at the yard camera where I can hear people talking softly but I can't see them. I know it's not Reilly and Tag and it's not Blue, Cirie, and Izzy who are in a bedroom. They mentioned Felicia and Kirsten, so it's not them.

Whoever the guy is (Cory?) just mentioned that Kirsten will be loyal to whoever saves her, and the female person (maybe America?) says "we can't do that. Are you suicidal?" and that she would go home next week if they did that. She wants Izzy or Luke to go home next week. The woman is hoping for something big to happen next week; she says that "if we let Izzy stay in this house any longer, she  is going to create an army."

    That was Reilly and Jag.

Okay, I hate Red now. He called himself a "chillbilly" because he's not exactly a hillbilly, he's got a little hippie in him too and I can't forgive that.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty excited Pluto is streaming live feeds since I haven't watched them since SEASON 2. So far all I'm getting on like 3 different cameras is Red and Cameron having a very earnest conversation about burping. Red can burp at will. Cameron knows people who can't burp. Or something. I turned the TV off.

Live feed recappers are the unsung heroes of civilization.

It's sad that they have a "celebrity relative" on this show who is such a blackhole of nothingness that they have to do more clues of their ex....

Right? Lol. Almost unfair when you have A-listers likeTom Hanks and Alicia Keys where one clue gives them away, then you have Olivia, whose relative could have had the whole wall filled with clues about her and she still would have flown under the radar! If she'd won, Carly would have been so mad, lol.

  15. We came so close to getting two wrong guesses in a row! Dang.  Although I'm glad Cole went for the sure thing. It was his only smart option. Everyone else's faux outrage and exaggerated shock is ridiculous, they all would have done the same.

It's fascinating watching them interpret clues incorrectly and then see everyone's confirmation bias kick in. Gabriel even chimed in with his story of how Jeff Gordon was so popular with his mom's friends in North Carolina because he was from there. Only Jeff Gordon is from California, lol. He moved to Indiana in high school but he never lived in the south.

The 12 statues were: shrimp, sheep, dragon, tire, butterfly, flamingo, planet, cheese, hamburger, eagle, Greek statue and horns

So, sheep: Dolly, shrimp: Tom Hanks, tire: Dale jr, planet: Neil diGrasse Tyson, cheese: Cole, burger, Gabriel (who gave away his relative in his interview by saying it was Good Burger), and for the rest I have no clue. Which of those remaining is Eddie Murphy or Chris and Hugo's relative?

Speaking of Hugo, did anyone figure out his clue? It looks like "commander in chief who farms ??" I can't tell what those last two circle things are supposed to be. They don't look like peanuts, lol.

In Karsyn's clue, where y'all are seeing "champion" I'm seeing "cup"--a picture of a loving cup.  And NASCAR is called the Cup Series.

Oh yeah, good catch. Cup driver is more accurate than champion. Dale Earnhardt jr was wildly popular and a great driver but he never won the cup championship.

I would always complain that I don't know the answers to newer songs, but I got two right at the end, but then didn't know the ELO song and couldn't figure out that part of "Layla," just like the contestants.

"Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO barely charted in the US. The 70s are my decade and I feel like I know ELO's catalog pretty well, but I didn't recognize it at all. Boo to the show for that one. As for "Layla", it's one of my favorite songs of all time, but I was barely able to get it with that weird clip they chose. I felt for Heidi when she was all, "Layla?? I know that song!" I was super happy she pulled it off at the end so they could win some decent cash. They impressed me with their breadth of knowledge and their quickness.

I didn’t hear him say that brother was a lie but I definitely could have missed it. His reasoning for shooting basketballs in the talent show made me think he was saying NBA championship was the lie.

You are right! I corrected my post above. He said he lied about his brother winning a championship, not that he lied about his relative being his brother.

Hugo - He's got to be Jimmy Carter's grandson. We know he was lying about the athlete part, so his relative is his grandpa. And I know Jimmy definitely won the Nobel Prize. I'll be shocked if his relative ends up being anyone but Jimmy.

Yes!! How could I have forgotten Jimmy Carter? Hugo even looks like a Carter.

Okay, since I had nothing else to do, I gathered together all of the "2 Truths and a Lie". Some of them did not reveal all three, but quick glimpses of their notebooks showed most of the rest of the clues. Those notebook parts I've shown with an *asterisk. (And if there are any mistakes, please feel free to correct me!)

Chris: *Father, *Singer, Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

    Monay: Father, Athlete, Emmy

    Jane: Father, Musician, Grammy

Hugo: Grandfather, Athlete, Nobel Peace Prize

    Shayne: Father, Musician, Grammy

    Gabriel: Brother, *Athlete, NAACP Award

J.R. Brother, *Singer, *NBA Championship Ring

    Cole: Father, *Singer, *Grammy

Olivia: *Brother, Razzie Award (could not find the occupation)

Travis: Father, Actor, Critic's Choice Award

Karsyn: *Uncle, Musician, *Some kind of Hall of Fame

    Carly: CARLY WHO?? (LOL)

I wrote them down also but thanks for filling in the gaps for the contestants who didn't reveal all three on camera.

Interestingly, every celebrity relative was reported to be a man. I'm sure some will turn out to be women.

I also took notes as to which reveals were truths or lies as stated in their talking heads, but now I'm wondering if they're allowed to lie to the audience also? Because JR said that his relative being his "brother" was the lie, but that would mean that the relative is a singer who's won an NBA championship ring. How can both those things be true? lol

FWIW, here are the lies/truths as stated in their interviews:

Chris: "singer" is true. Either father or star in Hollywood walk of fame is a lie.

JR: "brother" is a lie, so singer and NBA championship ring are true. (may need to go back and check the tape on the one!) -EDIT - upon rewatch, JR said he lied about his brother winning an NBA championship. So, brother and singer are true. Oops!

Hugo: "athlete" is a lie, so grandfather and Nobel peace prize are true. As mentioned above, he said his relative was once the most powerful man in the world. If grandfather is true, he can't be Bill Clinton's relative. I don't want to google Nobel Peace price winners but it should be easy to narrow it down. Kissinger and Nixon seem too old. (I know someone posted the answer above but I don't want to look 🙈)

EDIT: Hugo actually said Nobel prize, not peace prize. But he did say the most powerful man in the world, so the speculation still fits.

Gabriel:  "athlete" is a lie, so brother and NAACP award are true.

Carly: just Wow. Did you catch that her final screaming rant was about her lack of screen time? 😂 First thing that popped into my head:

So Redmond has revealed 15/18.  So far, we have 5 in their 30s, 9 in their 20s, and Bruce being the only one over 40.  I saw something from Redmond where he makes it seem like there aren't going to be any older contestants this year.  Maybe they brought Bruce back less because they felt sorry for him and more because they need at least one contestant over 40?  Or maybe this is productions way or making sure there isn't a slaughter of young 20 something women in the pre-merge phase (I'm still not getting too attached).

Now that all 18 are revealed, there is another over 40: Julie, 49. So will she be first boot, or F3 zero vote-getter?

  22. I don't know know, maybe I'm wrong and a cash prize was mentioned in the beginning, but in the finale Nick didn't mention money to Dom and Georgia, just the trip.

However, since the "where are they now" video came out on youtube a few days ago, there's evidently been drama between Georgia and Dom, including Dom posting screenshots of Georgia's texts (super long story, you can read about it on the Perfect match subreddit) and in one text she mentions that Netflix was giving them $5,000 (in lieu of the trip they didn't take, maybe?) and that Chase was advising her to hold out for more and she was wanting to know if Dom was on board.

I don't know which is more hilarious, Netflix being so cheap or Chase being Georgia's financial advisor, lol.
