I actually thought I saw Lala kind of cringe after she said it, as well. She referred to Billie in the proper pronoun several times and doesn't seem to have a prejudiced bone in her body. I think it was just her talking to Billie how she talks to everyone and agree that sensitivity is very important, but also wonder if it would be insulting for Lala to treat her any differently from any other girlfriend. Regardless, I definitely think it was far more of a regular slip than a Freudian one. Remember when Lisa admonished Arianna for calling her dude? That was awesome.
I'm also 100% down for a Lala/Billie spinoff next.-

Rob and Patrick are hard to watch, especially knowing what's to come. But I'm glad they're not with either of them anymore. Scheana and Stassi aren't perfect, but seeing them pine for guys who look far away when they're right next to them is sad.

I'm still 100% Team Ben! He kept saying you don't tell anyone about your idol! So for them to assume he didn't have one was stupid. He outplayed each and every one of them. Go Ben!!! I'm especially glad it didn't work out because while I like Ashley well enough, I am SO TIRED of people prizing "big moves" over "solid gameplay." I agree that Ben needs to go (for the others, not for me, I love him). But while it's nice to not see season after season of Pagonging, I've grown weary of watching people disobey the "Survivor" rule of not turning on your alliance before it's time. And just weary of hearing "big moves." I don't just want to watch a revue; I want a whole musical!

One of the most prime examples of this to me is the ep in "Free Therapy and a Dead Lady's Yard Sale." The snark in the ep is mainly contained to the first half, but/so is IMO one of the most heartwarming, family-centered eps of the show. The part from when Bonnie tells Violet the truth about her dad and Christy so quietly just leaves the office, to ALMOST the very end. I'm sobbing, then Christy spits on a GRAVE, and then implies to his widow that he did something horrible! The speed with which she goes from sympathetic to "jerk-land" is breathtaking!

Me too. And I like Ray and Adam, and love the AA ladies. But I've been binging on old eps and I really miss the dynamic with the kids, Baxter, and Candace. I really liked the ep where she's dating Candace's dad.

Fat suits are never my thing and I didn't even like Monica's back in the "Friends" days, but I actually really appreciate that the show doesn't seem to be making Jill pregnant. As a 42-year-old with no children, I really felt Jill's storyline last season something fierce and I thought the show and Jaime Pressly did a beautiful job with it. I loved her foster kid and storyline and I really am digging Natalie on the show; I think that actress is funny and fits in well with the cast. She brings out the strength in Christy and it's nice in the absence of Christy's kids (whom I miss), getting to see her nurturing towards someone else.

I think that Chrissy looks like Anna Camp and Devon looks like the love child of Jason Momoa and Jake Gyllenhaal!
Agreed with everyone who liked Alye and she was my first pick to win, but I also don't blame Ryan and Chrissy for going with JP. One thing that I think was a red flag was when Alye made her pitch to Chrissy, she said that she knew she had I think Ashley for sure. I get that she wanted to make herself sound like she was worth more than one vote, but it's not great to let everyone know you have unbroken loyalties with people on other tribes.
I know Cole's annoyed some, but I'm ALL about the red tribe right now. I found Jessica endearing that she offered her share of rice to Cole instead of telling everyone to pony up some of their shares. I was rooting for them in the IC and thought their comeback and teamwork were beautiful to watch. Mainly, I'm into the idea of a Ben/Mike/Lauren F3, and specifically Ben as the winner. I think it's interesting that in an ep where someone with an ostensible winner's edit leaves, Ben's game is brought up and called a quiet one. He's by far my favorite this season, even more after the "Office" reaction to the fish, his acknowledgment that extra pounds > a six pack on "Survivor," and especially his reaction after their blocks first fell when they were so close. It was like that temporary failure fueled him and he just picked up that rope and WENT for it. It wasn't quite as epic, but that moment combined with their ensuing teamwork and win reminded me of the sandbag challenge from Palau in terms of teamwork, energy, and excitement <3-

So I've been binging madly on the S2 VPR eps that Bravo aired last week (I don't have DVR autonomy at the moment, so I can't hoard them luxuriously like in the past and each fresh batch is like a gift!). Leaving aside my disappointment that this week's Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky wasn't preceded by more DVR VPR (heh), I was really expecting to feel a major letdown to go from arguably the best VPR season to the worst one that isn't even real VPR.
But gosh darn it, I like this silly little spinoff. Maybe in part because my late grandfather was from Kentucky and it's nice to hear "his" accent again. Definitely in part because I empathize GREATLY with Brittany. I was around her same age when I got into a relationship with someone where I felt a bit swallowed by the guy and his world, and also moved away to be with him. Not nearly as far away and I didn't have the pressure of being on a national TV show, but I went from my thinnest ever to heaviest ever, gaining 30 pounds in just a few months. My "spark" was still there, but I was lonely and a little lost. Every time the issue comes up, I really feel her. And seeing her among her family, I really get why she'd miss having that support system and flounder in a strange land sometimes. It's hard enough to do that in a solid relationship when you feel appreciated.
On that note, I like this show because I think it will end up being the best thing that could ever happen to them. It's GOOD for Jax to not be able to escape from the seven people on the farm into a city for a little bit! I don't agree that marriage and babies is a be all and end all, but it's very nice to see people have Brittany's back and remind Jax that whether Brittany is the one for him or not, she's an amazing woman who deserves to be with someone who appreciates her. And it's probably good for Jax and Brittany to get some of their frustrations in the open around family and manure so that they can't just sweep them under the rug and end up in something really toxic. It was great seeing Brittany's sister tell her she could come back to the farm any time and should never feel trapped in her relationship due to circumstances.
Also I get that not everyone is on the Mamaw love train, but IMO her scenes with Jax are awesome. Instead of meeting with that therapist who he kept lying to, he should fly out for basket sandwiches & advice with Mamaw once a week!-

All I can think of when Jax mentions wedlock is Lorelai on the phone with her aunt: "Wow, you don't hear the word wedlock much anymore."
That said, I like Kentucky Jax. Sometimes having forced fresh air and manual labor forced upon oneself is the best thing that could happen to someone who spends too much time indoors and/or partying. Not that I'd relate or anything, of course. Also, that he wanted to be a fireman originally makes me feel like maybe all this work and learning of skills could lead to a really cool career for him. I don't know what that is, but I think it would suit him. Whether Brittany and he are meant to be, I think this was probably a really good experience for Jax to have.
Especially contrasted with S2 Jax -- hoo boy. The DVR fairy left "Lisa's Angels" under my pillow this morning and it's weird to go from Jax in overalls and American flag boots to naked in angel wings with a Stassi tattoo. As glorious as S2 is, I'm happy that everyone seems to have evolved and is mostly happier <3 God help me, I'm rooting for all of them!-

It's been on my binge list but only just got around to it and I love it! Lighthearted and sweet but soapy. If I didn't love Bella Thorne already maybe I wouldn't be into it, but I dig her and Keith T. Powers, and am enjoying the supporting cast so far, especially Amber, who I only know from "My Stepdaughter," but I think she's a lot of fun!

I sadly remember those baby barrettes very clearly. My hair is so thick that I needed to put only 3 strands of hair before the whole barrette would burst open- even as a kid.
Man, I'm jealous. Never will I have any perspective on the '90s kid barrette trend, because I was so relieved that there were clips to fit my baby-fine hair, after years of bananas and alligators!

Re: the ep itself. I haaaaaaated this ep so much and still do. I wasn't as aware of the misogyny & nonsense on this show in real time, probably not fully until I read the Danny Drennan recaps, but even back in the day I was like what in the actual fuck. Susan was the best and I'm so glad she was freed from Brandon's ambivalent clutches so she could become Anya!-

For sure, about the prisons. I don't think medical's going anywhere. For every person who gets it for bogus reasons, there's someone whose life is being saved by it -- not from death, but from constant seizures, MS pain, no appetite from chemo -- you name it. Fighting MMJ would make them look like even bigger monsters and would go against the will of a big majority. They might try to crack down on RMJ, but they'll alienate a lot of their supporters if they do that and Sessions recently acknowledged that a crackdown would be harder than it seems and the industry brings in BANK, so I think this issue might run out the clock.

I dig him so much now. And I was watching Season 4 last night, the ep where he cooks eggs for the Shays, and I'd totally forgotten about the juice he made! Now that I've started juicing, I'm totally in the cult, and think it explains a lot of his uber-positivity, if it's something he does regularly.

I think it would be really cool if the show could stay VPR, keep the cast they have and show the Toms starting a restaurant, then focus on that staff instead of SUR, aside from the original cast who works there. It would be like when they rebooted Degrassi and kept "the olds" and told their stories, but still had the main focus be on the kids in school. Sandoval would be like Snake!

I got my medical card because it really does help my stomach and body pain. And it's great for sleep! They are pretty easy to get, but we also have recreational dispensaries in Colorado. They're more expensive than medical ones, though.
I know Florida's been stodgy and don't EVEN get me started on the No on 2 campaign in 2014, but they did pass medical last year. I know we're in a bit of flux now though and that different states have different ease of access for cards.
To tie it back to VPR, did we see the candy or just hear about it? The brand I use is called Wana and they're gummies. I still like smoking, but edibles really are great for so many purposes.-

Tasty and they do give a very mellow high, where you don't get so worked up over stupid stuff. I've completely cut out alcohol for the time being and those watermelon candies make me not miss it at all! You can get them at dispensaries; mine's in Colorado :)
I do think that Kannabis Katie already seems more chill, and hope she sticks more with that, and less with the tequila. Weed doesn't give the same kind of WOOOO!!! high as alcohol, but it's so much healthier and less likely to lead to rage and tears!
On a different topic, I loved Katie's dress and thought she looked beautiful!-

I love the shunning of girl-on-girl crime, but felt that Lauren's harsh reaction to Christina in the kitchen was a bit mean in and of itself.

I was surprised at just how angry I got at him last night. Already he annoyed me last week with his bonfire behavior (and put your damn shoes on in the Uber plz). But this week was extra gross because it was all right in front of Lauren. I get that she's not "taking a hint," but his hints are mixed in with confusing signals like his choice to charm her family. Regardless, he knows he's not interested in her and is playing that deeply obnoxious "What, I'm single" game. That he keeps it all inside the house speaks volumes about his need for attention, regardless of who gets hurt. I really felt for Lauren when she said he was the one who pursued her hard, especially after hearing him talk in a confessional about how he always tries to hunt out the hottest girl in each summer house. Dude wants to shit where he eats and complain about the smell. Carl seems like a decent guy otherwise and like a wonderful son, but he needs to knock off this nonsense.

Despite my initial hatred and negative flashbacks to some of the things and people I do not miss about New York, the show sucked me in and now I'm hooked and even like all the cast members in their own ways.
But it drives me nuts to see them talk about having to drive in a few hours when they are shitfaced! And when I saw the twins take the train I wondered why they don't all do that anyway. That is one thing I never understood when I lived there, was anyone's desire to drive in NYC in the first place. But even for those who do, it seems like a train's still a better option if you're going to be drunk the entire time.

So I've read every comment on every VPR thread except for this one, because I sadly haven't seen it! And I'm sorry if this has been brought up in the past, but realize I might not have paid attention since I had Bravo access since discovering this amazing disaster. But I don't have cable yet in my place. Last week I was able to watch Ep 7 on their site, but this week it's saying I need to log in. Does anyone know if that is temporary and they'll let me watch in a few days? Last week I watched it I think on Wednesday or Thursday.
