  1. I watched this episode yesterday. I do wonder how they picked the people. They all had a mystery about a grandparent but nothing sooner. My guess is there were people that had questions regarding their own parents, but weren't picked due to the controversy of the person still likely being alive. Then a lot like me (I didn't apply but wish I did). But honestly, there isn't a specific mystery there, just some questions that have been passed down over the years. But I guess we'll never know.

Anyhow, I enjoyed it. I did wish they spend a bit more time on each one's families but I guess their goal was to answer their question and that's it. I didn't get the impression that he was less interested or bored with them. Obviously they had the change their intros as they weren't celebrities, so that's was cool.

And so strange, that Tom, who had chemistry with everyone and everything, even a block of wood, didn't have it with Erica. Too much of a sibling vibe for me.

I agree, but that isn't a bad thing on it's own. I liked the friendship between Lois and Clark. The main issue they had, is that they felt that they needed to follow the comic books. I know people would be upset but it would have been interesting if they writers of the show just did their own thing. Maybe have him end up with Chloe (which was the ship I liked).

  3. I think had Lana already known that Clark had super-speed (thought he was a meteor freak) she would have thought he was a different case then the people she was complaining about. Though that still is basically saying that "well... your an exception" to Clark lol, which isn't much better.

  4. The thing with Clark and his secret is that it wasn't exactly necessary. He could have lied and said he had powers from the meteor rocks like everyone else. Say super-speed is his power (as he uses it by far the most). I get that most of them "turn out bad", but he then would be an example of one that isn't. Lana and Chloe definitely in season 2 would have been okay with that explanation. And in Chloes case wouldn't have been trying to figure out what his secret was, as from her pov he wouldn't have had one then.

SportsCenter All Night played a clip from one of their shows and the guy was like “people are going to want to run Tyler Bass out of town but…” and who are these people?  Who?  I will fight them.

Anyone who says that clearly did not watch the fourth quarter.  And if Tyler did make the game *tying* kick, what makes anyone think the Bills defense was going to stop Kansas City?

Missed kicks = goat is one of the WORST sports narratives.

I came to the conclusion it wouldn't have mattered. If he made the kick. There was still a minute left. KC would have likely just scored again. And even if they didn't, the Bills never win in overtime. So we just would have been delaying the inevitable :(.

The only team I don't want to win the SB is the Chiefs.

Me too. Come on ravens destroy them!

It surpised me that Wes said he hadn't heard of the Trail of Tears until he was in high school.

This surprised me too as I would think he'd hear about it from his family. But I guess it was something they didn't talk about.

I really enjoyed this episode and the two guests.

I wondered that too. Is it an indigenous custom to give a child their own distinctive second name rather than a family surname?

It must be very frustrating because it raises more questions, not knowing which of the two men were his father and what their relationship was with his mother.

And if either had kids. Because then they'd be related to him.

Why do I think I know what the Bills fans are going to do with the snow on their seats? 😲

I've already seen videos of people sledding down the seats.

  9. Well I guess I called that. I think it's for the best. I didn't see how the fans would get there safely.

40mph winds in Buffalo on Sun, with a chance for a foot of snow.  There were talks of moving that game to Cleveland, but I think they would've done that by now.

I think that would be more dangerous at this point. If they moved the game, first off both teams would have to get to Cleveland. And the fans will follow them. So now you have 1000's of a fans driving down the 90 where they otherwise wouldn't have been in a blizzard. I can see the game getting moved to Monday.

Have to say it’s a surprise that Kansas City is the team getting shuffled off to Peacock.

I was surprised by this. I do wonder if the cities then have to pay to watch it? I say this as a Bill's fan, if we were the ones playing them. I think there would be a riot if they charged people to watch the game.

  12. I really enjoyed the show this year to the point where my husband and I never changed the channel, just stayed on it. I love how Andy got hammered and Anderson didn't seem drunk at all. But the best part was John Mayor and the cats ;). Andy asked something along the lines of where do you think you'll be in 2024. And John's response "you may find yourself surrounded by cats." I'm paraphrasing but I found it really funny.

Which will be next Christmas for us in the States. ***sigh***

Exactly. I wonder why that is? I mean it's probably some rights issue but we are getting the normal season at the same time (well a few days later).

  14. I'm thinking if the cowboys beat the dolphins. The Bills game against them will go to primetime? It's weird that it still says TBA. I'm not sure if they are waiting to see the outcome of this week. As I'd imagine they'd have to to decide when the game is more then a week out. But who knows...

  15. I'm glad to see other people feel the same way that I do. I skipped this one and went straight the the New Years episode as I had no idea who any of the constants are. Which was fine for the Derry Girls episode (as the cast was fun anyway). And I was able to simply check out the show to get who they were. Random TV personalities just don't interest me.

  16. I remembered all of them but Anthony. I had to look him up afterwards. I for some reason never remember the ones that go out early, I guess that's because you see less of them.

Anyhow, I called Manon winning from the beginning. Not that the other ones weren't good, but she probably was (is?) the most talented. But that aside this was a fun group of bakers.

And it was jarring to see Matt again. I guess I got used to Alison. He wasn't to annoying here, but I think I prefer her.

I listen to the Delta Flyers podcast with Robert Duncan McNeill and Garrett Wang. The newest episode has two new co-hosts, Terry Farrell and Armin Shimerman. They've started a recap and review of DS9 since they completed Voyager earlier this year. I like the addition of Farrell and Shimerman, they fit nicely into the format and they're interesting to listen to. And, this way Wang and McNeill can continue the podcast...

If you are looking for a good DS9 podcast, check out the 7th rule. It's Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) youtube channel, that he started with Aaron (Nog). They reviewed all of DS9 and are now reviewing TNG. They go really in depth of the show, and annualize each episode. As well as have different guests on, often other cast members or Ira. Not that they are completing against each other. But thought I'd shot it out as well.
