What I thought was interesting is that they've been going on and on about Hillary's speaking fees -- and I'm not quite sure what their spin is since Mika at first seems outraged about them and then declares it would be so much better for Hillary if she would just "own them" and declare how wonderful it is that a woman can get such fees, just like men of her rank have been getting -- but then right after that, and quite unironically, they report on the Forbes list of the most well paid ACTORS. At the top of the list is Robert Downey Jr. who made about $75 million, second was The Rock, whose earnings I can't remember, and then Bradley Cooper who came in at $45 million.
They had no problem with this at all and, in fact, I had no idea why they were even talking about it since they had nothing to say other than "good job?!" But they're outraged and go on daily about Hillary making $12 million, including advances on her book (or is it Hillary *and* Bill, together, making $12 million?). I don't know. But, in any case, it just seems so ridiculous why these huge actors' fees are hunky dory, but not Hillary and Bill's income, some of which goes into the Clinton Foundation.
It's not like Hillary and Bill took a vow of poverty, and therefore are hypocrites, as opposed to these actors or anyone else who makes a huge amount of money.

Would people actually watch a cooking show based on the host being eye candy? That baffles me, quite frankly.
Well, I wouldn't unless the person could also cook, but how many shows are now on Food Network where the cooking is the least of it!? Diners, Drives-in and Dives is one big example and it seems like every time I turn on the channel, that show is on.

Like most of you, I can't stand Sarah and I can't believe they didn't "ding" her for basically serving each of them a whole cow. How is that supposed to help a home cook, unless the whole family is supposed to dine off of that one piece of meat? What makes Sarah unpleasant to me is that she seems like such a poor winner -- with all the giggles and smirking at other people's failures -- and she has that kind of backbiting competitiveness about her that doesn't make her someone I'd want to "invite into my home" on a daily or weekly basis. She just reminds me of a "mean girl."
I think Luca's there for eye candy. You all are right, Italian cuisine has been done and done again, and is being represented all over the tube. But, I guess the one thing "Food Network Star" has never produced is a hunky winner that, I'm supposing, the majority female demographic can drool over. They've had cute female winners and schlubby, guy next door winners -- pun intended -- but no male with any sex appeal.
As for Emma, she was okay, but some reason, I thought she was a vegetarian. So, every time she got meat to cook, I wondered how she's going to do *that*. But, now I see, she's farm to table? So, she incorporates a story about cute little piggies being burned up in a fire and, conveniently, being served up as dinner as if it's some feel good anecdote. I think the only one who could possibly pull off that kind of story is Martha Stewart, because we already know the woman is all business and not exactly touchy-feely. You'd expect *that* lack of sentiment from her, not from Pixanne in her Magical Forest.
Of those remaining, the only two contestants who hold the promise of actually having a cooking show where one might learn something is Lenny and Nicole ... because they can actually cook.

Mika was in the gossip column of today's Washington Post. (It's the "Reliable Source" column in the Style section.) Apparently, she just bought a condo in Georgetown.
Mika Brzezinski, co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” has snagged a two-bedroom, two-bath condo in Georgetown.
According to real-estate records, the author of “Knowing Your Value” paid $925,000 in June for the airy digs, located just a block off Rock Creek Park.
The column also states that she shares a "gorgeous Tudor style" home in Bronxville with her husband and two daughters.
And, in the online version of the column, they show three rooms of the condo -- galley kitchen, living room and one bedroom.
Question is, why does she need a condo in D.C.? Is Joe running for office again? ;-) Is she going to work for her hero, Elizabeth Warren? Or, is she expecting Chris Christie to run for and win the presidency?
My last guess is that her daughter's moving here to intern and needs a place to live.

Did anyone else notice how the group talked about how companies were incorporating overseas to give less money to the US government, and companies are further treating their workers as one-offs. Talk about what "have you done for me lately". This is the same group that goes off about how sorry the current workforce is and how there is no loyalty to the company.
Not only that, but companies are now persons with free speech rights for the purpose of political contributions and have religious beliefs as well, which the workers must abide by or be forced to pay out of pocket for the privilege not to.
On another topic, is Mika like a dog with a bone or what?! She latches on to someone and they, then, become her answer to every problem and the potential savior of the country. First it was Chris Christie, Chris Christie, Chris Christie and now it's Elizabeth Warren, Elizabeth Warren, Elizabeth Warren. Apparently, there are no other governors nor senators in the nation, let alone another politician who might be able to solve a problem.

Mika said her daughter Carly who is an intern on morning joe was rude to her.
What a "shock." Your daughter probably learned how to be a mature professional from you, Mika. Frankly, if this is such an issue that it must be discussed on air, taking up precious time, then perhaps you should not hire your own daughter to work on your show and instead hire someone not related to anyone on the show who will probably not throw things at you, at least literally.
And another thing ... I am sick and tired of Mika's constant segments on women's empowerment and I say that as a feminist. Mika's form of discussing the issue is usually all about her, it's usually very whiny and unattractive and, lastly, it's never reflected in her actual daily actions, where she sits there posing and mewling and cooing at the men around the table. I've never seen anyone act less empowered than you, Mika.

And, she takes no ownership whatsoever for whipping up the ignorant nut fringe,
That's because Palin *is* the ignorant nut fringe. She doesn't recognize who and how destructive they are because she's one of them.

The ISIS rebels have $2billion.. They stole 400 million from a bank in Mosul. They can pay fighters & offer good benefit plans compared to other terrorist groups.
I wonder if they'll offer more birth control options than Hobby Lobby?

Not surprisingly, Joe stuck around to interview Ed Gillespie, the former RNC chair now running for Senate in Virginia. If he had been a Democrat, Joe probably would've left it to Mika and took a bathroom break.
Anyway, Gillespie said Virginians should vote for him rather than re-elect Mark Warner because he is an independent voice for Virginia. Whereupon, he launches into spouting the whole Republican party line, while basically accusing Warner of being Obama's handmaiden. Seriously, do these people listen to themselves at all?

So, Joe disappeared when it was time to talk about Walmart and how they low ball their workers forcing them onto food stamps and other public assistance. Joe can't be seen challenging Walmart!
And then, in a later discussion, Joe cannot believe that anyone in *his* party -- which includes the tea party -- opposes the president because of his skin color. (Or as Donnie kept saying, skin of his color. LOL.) Seriously, Joe is in denial ... or in campaign mode.

I missed the first half of the show. So, I only saw the Youtube part of it that appeared to have nothing to do with cooking. In any event, I was of a complete opposite mindset to the "judges." I thought the monster video was the most fun as a Youtube video. Goofy and over the top. The "dating/boyfriend" video sucked. I would've called it the worst -- like a very bad Saturday Night Live skit. You know, the pointless ones that aren't funny. Also, of those contestants *in* the monster video, Orion was the most entertaining and I could understand what she was saying. I was shocked -- based solely on the video -- that she went home. I would've eliminated Christopher, if my choice was up to the three of them in that video. He was definitely the weakest link.

I've been watching this show less than two minutes and they've already insinuated, if not outright declared, that whatever charges are being made against Scott Walker are politically motivated. The poor dear's no doubt innocent.
Also the president's decision about Iraq is not the best thing to do. He should go after ISIS in Syria instead.... Lord, it wouldn't matter what this Administration did, this show, and their panel of stooges who never saw a fight they didn't want to join, would find a reason why it was crap.

I thought Joe's son was actually really sweet and well spoken about his dad. I can believe he's a good father - he even lives in the same fricken house with his ex! Although I'm sure that's easier to do when you seem to travel ALL the damn time (and have a gazillion dollars). It should be time for for his Vinyard summer soon.
No doubt, EmeraldGirl. My point was in response to what LuciaMia was saying ... that whatever the topic, it eventually comes down to being all about them. The show's bow to Father's Day wasn't about fathers in general or even in celebration of all the fathers on the show -- Barnicle, Willie, etc. No, it was a segment only about Joe.

Today they had a segment in recognition of Father's Day purportedly done by Joe's son in which he spent the whole segment talking about what a great father Joe is and showing many family pictures of Joe with his kids.
I was always pissed that the media basically sent Gore and Kerry to Siberia and never mentioned them again after they lost their elections,Or, possibly they declined to piss all over George Bush over his foreign policy challenges -- at least in the beginning. I can't imagine Gore coming out and dissing GW Bush immediately after 9-11. Later, possibly. But not when we were all supposed to be unified.

I "loved" Joe screaming at the rest of the panel that the reason Bergdahl has yet to be brought back from Germany is because the White House lied. Not being brought back to domestic military hospital = the White House lied. (Whatever that equivalence means.) It has nothing to do with Bergdahl having mental issues after being held for five years by the Taliban or even nothing to do with possible harm or death threats by some of the whackjobs back in this country who've already threatened his parents and his home town.
I was reading this article in the Post about Bergdahl's mental state and the conclusion one can clearly draw is that Bergdahl shouldn't have been in the military in the first place.
Bergdahl’s writings reveal a fragile young man

We get it, Mika, you hate Hillary for some unknown reason. Enjoy your life out in the wilderness for the next 6 or possibly 10 years.

Regarding Mika and her apparent support of Elizabeth Warren over Hillary, she always seems to trumpet Warren's more liberal leanings and support for the working class/middle class ... just like Mika, whose always been a big liberal and a champion of the little people. LOL! Mika is so-o-o Establishment, I have to roll my eyes at her Warren-love.

They had Chris Matthews on this morning to participate in the discussion about D-Day. I'd like to think it's because Matthews is some expert on D-Day -- which he's not -- but it's probably because he's been bashing Obama on Hardball the last few nights for making this trade for Bergdahl, giving up the five Taliban from Gitmo. Matthews has been portraying them as terrorists in the same vein as Osama bin Laden and that Bergdahl doesn't appear to be worth that trade. So, of course Joe was giving Matthews a big old tongue bath. Half the time, Joe wouldn't even show up if Matthews was there, but when Matthews is in Obama-bashing mode, Joe is all over him.

Morning Joe: All Episodes Talk

This must be why a lot of old men on Capitol Hill like this show. It reminds them of how "little ladies" used to act and, in their opinion, should act.

On another topic, look what I just saw tweeted:
Will Dancin' David Gregory Be Replaced With Mika And Joe?
