Nice to see how much Hidden Figures has accomplished, isn't it?   SMH

This is CBS remember. If it were ABC or NBC I would be more irritated but CBS has a major diversity issue.

  2. What Rachel showed tonight was the only year he paid taxes since that almost billion dollar write down and I think the only reason why he paid taxes that year is it was the first year of his marriage to Melania. Remember there's evidence she didn't come to this county illegally and one way Orange Hitler would be able to cover for that is paying taxes the year he got married to her.

Also, that write down is suspect and I think it's tied to Russia connections that she's been reporting on for the past couple of weeks.

Jessica Halem- a really smart and funny lesbian I know tweeted this about Rachel today.

Lesbian processing on live national TV! "You see me!" #rachelmaddow #TrumpTaxes

"Let's make this quick" said no lesbian ever. #rachelmaddow

and queer woman TV recapper Dorothy Snarker posted this which is great

No matter what @maddow has in the tax returns, it's deeply satisfying to know Drumpf is angrily watching a gay woman on television right now.

Her reporting is what is going to bring him and his administration down. She's that focused.

  3. Mingo was still getting shit about the costume because the writers had him disappear from the story while they had Daphne realize the error of her ways earlier and get involved in the fight with the students of color. It's as simple as that. What both of them did wasn't cool IMO.

  4. Wow so Julie Bowen's great grandfather on her mom's side was someone who rounded up Germans living in America during WWI for the APL. Like he was the leader. I loved that she spoke out about the potential Muslim registry being floated around right now/rounding up of undocumented immigrants.

    Suck it Ben Affleck.

Love that her three times great grandfather on her dad's side was a member of the American Anti-Slavery Society in Pennsylvania and traveled in the South to speak out against slavery and his home was a way station on the Underground Railroad.  Loved the bee hive story so much.

So what this show proves is we gloss over a lot of American history in school because Julie's gaps in knowledge are large and she doesn't strike me as someone who didn't pay attention in school. US History textbooks suck.

Side note- the Nate and Jeremiah by design show looks really fun.

Something's not right about this new baby.  These one-month pictures of Spurgeon and H. Wilberforce show the new baby with red blotches on his face, a bloated tummy and noticeably shorter legs.  Plus, he just looks unhappy.  What do you think?

Something happened with this birth and they aren't saying what it is. Also, look at his toes.

In other news, Ben needs to slow his roll and realize the world doesn't operate the way the Gothard/Quiverfull movement does.

Well, I checked out Schindler too and I'm not sure about his credibility either.  If Nance is suspect as some want to believe, then what about this guy?

To be honest, I don't understand the piling on of Malcolm Nance when other news contributors credentials might be suspect as well.  Is it because he's black?

Bingo. There's another Black guy Terrell J. Starr who gets questioned about his Russian/Soviet knowledge because of course no Black person could be an expert about foreign affairs. John Schindler is a conservative commentator so there's that.

It's unusual -- and refreshing, and delightful -- to have a bunch of dudes unashamedly flirting with each other, without sarcasm and toxic/anxious masculinity getting in the way.

I love McK's Maggie Smith impression, and love even more that she's all Dowager Countess even when not on the Downton set.

Yes their love and affection for each other is so damn cool. I wish more male celebs would behave in this manner.

I love that Ian brings up LGBT issues every time he makes a TV appearance. He travels to schools across the UK to talk to students about him being gay (and them accepting their LGBT classmates) and that's why he was in Scotland prior to the show.

TBO, Scandal needs to end this season.  The final episode should be the resolution of the presidency and some sort of indication of what happens to the characters -- Please don't give me Liv with Putz as a series ender.  I would like to have Cyrus orchestrate Liv's downfall.  I'm still team Jake, but right now, I don't think that even Jake at his worst should be saddled with the horror that is Olivia Pope.

Well it's already been renewed along with Grey's and HTGAWM so that's why I said what I said. You're right. None of these characters deserve any happiness except for Mellie.

They were in 2018, now they are back in 2017 (there was a shot of the date on an iPad when April was coming back from maternity leave that put it at October 2016--and that was back in October 2016).  I guess we shouldn't think about it...or something?  It really annoys me when shows are sloppy like this.

Don't even get me started on The Fosters timeline. Really shows need to hire me to keep track of this stuff so the writers can do their jobs with the story. This shouldn't be the job of the script supervisor either.

  10. If this show gets canceled I'll blame Noah's horrible interview for driving viewers away. I really like it but their horrible joke about bisexuals was also problematic and I blame having a white gay showrunner who is ignorant of the rest of the LGBTQ community. The same thing happened with Ilene Chaiken (The L Word, Empire) and I. Marlene King (Pretty Little Liars). Queer people stopped watching their shows as time went on. It's a real problem.

  11. These latest courtships prove that the Duggars have a lower class of fundie friends than the Bateses do because at least the Bates kids and in-laws have a chance at making money due to a real homeschooling education, even with the creationism aspect thrown in to the mix.

Also, the Duggar rents are terrified of losing their TV show whereas I don't think the Bateses care if their show gets canceled.

  12. Here's where I'm at. If Shonda wants this show to continue for many years she needs to focus on it more than Scandal which (along with HTGAWM) needs to end after next season. They are running on fumes even more than Grey's because at least this show can use medical cases to tell their stories.

Meredith was born in 1978 and from what I've read the timeline puts the show sometime in 2018 due to the time jump after Derek's death, and what was established early in the show's run. This means her character is 40 and the actor is 47.

No one should be criticized for the way they look because that's just wrong.

I wish they would've introduced Minnick in a better way so I could root for her and Arizona because I need my lesbian loving action pronto. There aren't that many shows featuring lesbian characters anymore so I'm starved for representation.

I am not surprised by this.

Me either. I think both Scandal and HTGAWM need to end after next season. As much as I hate the idea of losing great POC actors from the network landscape both shows are running on fumes. Shonda needs to develop new shows and I don't mean The Catch. Grey's Anatomy is different because hospital and police shows can go on forever.

Marvel has announced the main cast of the new Inhumans show.  Lots of white folks (of course), two Asian men, one black man and a Hawaiian.  Do you see what's missing here?  I'm telling you, black women are scary!

I'm already hearing excuses ("They're all one family" -- No, look at that cast list again.  "There weren't any black women in the comic" -- then there was a problem with the comic; fix it!).  I don't care why representation only matters for some -- if there's not a black woman in the main cast, I won't watch.

(Some people are speculating that Amara might be out on Legends of Tomorrow.  If so, or if they think they can just pop another black woman in like interchangeable parts, I'm out on that one too.)

The same white guy (Scott Buck) producing Iron Fist is producing the new Inhumans show so it will be awful. I'm so sick of this and I'm a white woman.
