legaleagle53 March 24, 2015 Share March 24, 2015 So, did anyone watch this? It's something that I really wish DWTS would do. I thought it was fascinating watching non-celebrities train and dance with the Strictly pros. I also thought that Cassidy and Natalie definitely deserved the win; while everyone was good, his Paso Doble was one of the best I've seen (and he's definitely proven that there really are no barriers when it comes to working hard and having fun in the process!). By the way, sorry, Claudia and Tess, but "Keeeep dancing!" just doesn't work for me with two women. Better to ditch that catchphrase. And Anton on the panel in Craig's chair -- I wonder if this could be the shape of things to come in the fall? Link to comment
ceebee March 25, 2015 Share March 25, 2015 (edited) I didn't expect to like this Strictly spin off and only started watching in an idle moment but was completely gripped. Given the 'cheap and cheerful' approach to some of the shows they make for Comic Relief and Children in Need, I was expecting something thrown together and a bit rubbish, but they really pushed the boat out for these people - and deservedly so. I was super impressed with the fantastic level of performance from all the contestants and the technical ability from most of them, too. A truly heart warming show. My personal favorites on the night were Phil's campy American Smooth and Anna's brilliant Charleston, but I felt sure it would go to Cassidy and was really happy for him (and I thought the lovely Natalie might explode with joy!). Hopefully it will become an annual event. (Agree about Tess and Claude needing a new catchphrase, but do hope you're wrong about Anton) Edited March 25, 2015 by ceebee 1 Link to comment
legaleagle53 December 27, 2015 Author Share December 27, 2015 (edited) Cassidy Little took part in this year's Strictly Christmas Special and did a Jive with Natalie that really impressed me. Alas, he didn't win, but he impressed me so much that I rewatched his Paso Doble from The People's Strictly and remembered why I fell in love with him in the first place. I was, in fact, so impressed that I watched a couple of interviews that he did even before Strictly (I really had no idea that he actually was something of a "celebrity" before he did The People's Strictly) and even tweeted him that he should do a regular series of Strictly or come over here and do DWTS (his American counterparts Noah Galloway and Alek Skarlatos were both very well received here, after all). Cassidy's characteristically modest reply to me was "To be fair...both would be an amazing experience!" Edited December 27, 2015 by legaleagle53 Link to comment
