The return of some characters/loose ends

I don't know if I am alone in this, but I feel like this is the last season at the moment.

But I also feel like there are alot 'loose ends' left that need to be tied up before the series ends.

The most important ones that come to mind are:

- Mason Treadwell. His death was faked by Emily to get him out of prison if memory serves well.

- Lydia Davis. Framed for the shooting of Emily and left town, never heard from since. Is she in hiding? Did she get caught? No one knows..

- Kara Clarke. Left town after attempted murder on the Graysons without knowing that Emily is her daughter. And now with the return of David, might be interesting so see her again of get some closure on this character.

- Stevie Grayson. Left town after she faced Victoria and touched the liquor again after being sober for 20 years. And being Jacks mother and all.. She needs to come back right?!

- Charlotte Clarke. Yes she is annoying, but her sendoff was the lamest of all. After 3 years of being a main character.. And she only just found out about Emily being her sister. If she never returns I would be pretty pissed.

- Patrick Osbourne: Not really a loose end, but I feel like there is more for him in the storie. And his sendoff was really anticlimactic in my oponion.

- Ashley Davenport. Also not really a loose end, but for her the same as with Patrick. I really hope for a return of this devious lady. There could be more for her in the storie.

IF this is the last season, no way all those characters will be back. There isn't just enough time to deal with this loose ends. So Im a little concerned about this, especially since they keep adding characters like Louise Ellis and her brother, Ben the annoying cop, Katherine and Malcolm Black etc.

What do you guys think? Please share your opinions!!

Well to be honest, I would think that only 3 of those character do even have the chance of returing to the show:

 

-Kara Clarke: she will defintely play a role in the next episodes, even if she doesn't return, because David hasn't even told his daughter yet that her mother is still alive (he isn't aware that she already knows that) and as we heard in last weeks episode she also played a key-role in Victoria choosing David as the petsy for Conrad. I thought that was huge by the way, as we always were ment to believe that Conrad chose him as the patsy, and Victoria only complied. I'm not a big fan of her returning, but it would definetly turn Emily's world upside down, I mean both parents alive and playing a role in her life again, and both completely crazy, hell yeah :)

 

-Charlotte Clarke: I think the character won't return as main cast anymore, I think they will leave it to the end of the show (regardless wheter it ends this season or not), and I bet they already signed a contract with Christa B. Allen that allows them to do just that. She might return at the very end, because she important to the ending of Emily's story with the Graysons, as she is her Sister AND a Grayson.

 

-Mason Treadwell: Altough there is only one reason why he might come back, and that is if the true identity of Emily as Amanda Clarka is revealed to the public, he could play a role in that. And I personally think that the end of Season 4 will be about just that, with two possible outcomes: a) Season 4 is the last season and Emily's story ends with that (wether it's a happy ending or not) b) she ends up in prison as Amanda Clarke again (identity fraud and so on...), kind of full circle from where she started :), and Season 5 beginns with her in prison and Mason Treadwell helping her to tell her side or the story as promised, plus maybe helping her escape (besides that I don't see any reason for him coming back).

 

As for all other characters mentioned: I can't imagine any storyline that would bring one of them back playing an impornant role to be honest, their stories are closed.

Yes those 3 need to return for sure.

And for Patrick and Ashley I would agree, but for Lydia and Stevie I disagree.

Lydia was never heard of again after she was framed. Did she got caught, or is she in hiding? I hope to see her again, because her fate is still unknown.

As for Stevie, she is the mother of Jack and left pretty fast. I have a feeling we will see her again. Maybe at the end of the series, who knows?

And I would love to see Patrick and Ashley again, but their story's are closed do it is not necassary.

Well regarding Lydia, I agree with you storywise in some way, but the problem is that she already had her surprising comeback in season 3, so it wouldn't make sense to pull the same trick again. And more importantly, she no longer poses a threat to Emily, since her being dangerous was always in some way about that photo, which showed Emily as Amanda Clarke on the Graysons new years' eve party. Now that all of the remaining Graysons know who Emily really is, but Lydia doesn't, I don't see her story.

 

And Stevie, well I guess she will not play a big part either anymore, maybe guest starring in one episode? As you said she is Jack's mother, but the story is about Emily/ Amanda, and since her only connection to Emily's revenge (her ex-husband Conrad) is gone I don't think she has anything more to contribute to the story.

I don't want to see a repeat of any of the characters mentioned previously, except Mason Treadwell.  None of the other characters were interesting enough to me, and that includes Jacks mother.  Lydia's story is done so no reason to bring her back.  Charlotte, who cares?  For the most part, they were all contrived into the story for no reason except to fill time (Kara, Patrick, etc.). I love the actor that plays Mason Treadwell and he could still have a part in the David Clarke story.

Honestly, I think all of those characters could not come back and it wouldn't really matter. I'd like to see Mason again and I think Charlotte could be used but I won't be upset if they never return.

If Emily's mom returns, I WILL be upset. Boy, was that ever a misfire in terms of character and casting. Just a world of NO. I would only accept it at all if they recast.

I agree with kara clarke. Just not the right actress for the role.

I loved Lydia though.

I also agree regarding Kara Clarke. On the other hand I'm so upset with the character of David Clarke sometimes that it would be kind of fun watching his completely crazy ex-wife coming back into his life kicking his ass. :)

I think that Ashley, Patrick (possibly as a returning love for Nolan?) and Charlotte could guest star in the last two episodes with good results.  Kara will probably be back soon, and Emily and Jack could provide closure to the 'Stevie' character with dialogue when that does happen.  Stevie was like a strange hybrid of Kara and Lydia, so I don't think she can coexist with the originals.  It would be nice for Lydia to make a guest appearance, though I hated the way they wasted her return last season, so perhaps just a few lines of dialogue could tell us what happened to her.  It did seem like Conrad stowed her away somewhere, but perhaps she went back to Ecuador. Mason Tread well's character was distorted and overused to death after S1, so I don't really want to see him come back, unless he's the final enemy for Emily, because let's face it, there's no way he can write a factual book about her life without Emanda going to jail. Perhaps he could write a novel instead.

@Glade: what I was always wondering about is whether Emily would really have to go to jail when she comes clean as Amanda Clarke, because I can think of no crime she commited that anyone has evidence for. The only crime that could be prooven is her identity fraud, but even the outcome of that is open, because as far as we know she already owned half of Nolan's company, and with that half a billion, as Amanda Clarke (as seen in the flashbacks) and she only changed her identity after that. So she didn't profit from her new identity in terms of money, and as Fauxmanda died under suspicious circumstances she could point out that she only changed her identity so be safe (and David, with the whole Malcolm Black thing now going on would back that argument) . I guess Victoria could sue her (if then still alive) for marrying into her family with a false identity (but Daniel is already dead, so is Conrad, there is no Grayson family anymore). So can you think of any crimes that could really be prooven and end in jail for her? Because I don't.
