rue721 November 16, 2014 Author Share November 16, 2014 (edited) I have to say, I'm delighted that Ansel has been brought onto the show, because I am so curious about what plans they have for him. It's maybe a little silly that he's back, but I'm happy enough that he's there, and their hand-wave-y explanation is good enough, that I'm fine with it. A pretty small thing that I keep wondering about is, I understand why Esther would have wandered a little, seeing as Mikael is such an extremely difficult person and god knows I understand why she'd need a break from that, but why did Ansel go for it? Also, if he wanted to bring Klaus into his pack, then who was Ansel imagining would have cared for him? I assume that Ansel had a wife, seeing as the werewolves apparently still practice childhood betrothal even now (though maybe that's just Hayley's pack, who even knows with them). Ansel's wife would actually have been OK about caring for this random other woman's kid? Tbh maybe, if Ansel was thinking that Esther could carry a baby to term and then just give him away, with the explanation to Mikael that, nbd, it's just some other guy's baby anyway. If that was something that Ansel genuinely thought would fly, then who even knows how his world worked. What I think is interesting about all that is how Ansel's pack would have worked in general (mostly because I can't stand the werewolves nowadays). I'm wondering what Ansel's "old ways" (that Jackson referred to) even are and whether Ansel and his pack would be any different than Hayley's (and how)? My more fun question is, if there's a showdown between Mikael and Ansel WHICH THERE HAS TO BE, I wonder which side Klaus and Esther will take? For Klaus: On the one hand, I would think that Klaus would always be pushed to take the not-Mikael side, seeing as Mikael is obviously not going to want to work "with" him, but on the other, I think he's also dead serious about not wanting to get cast out of the Mikaelsons (or being made not-a-vampire-at-all imo) and is going to do whatever he can to keep from aligning with the werewolves because of that. I feel like he could go either way? For Esther: I think she probably has more of a "thing" for Ansel than for Mikael, especially since she rescued Ansel but not Mikael as the Other Side was collapsing. I guess that might have been because of her having a plan for persuading all her kids to go into various bodies, but her first tactic with Klaus anyway was to say that she'd protect him from Mikael (which imo was actually a much better tactic to use with him, she should have stuck with the "I can give you peace and safety" strategy, I think), so I think she could actually have used Mikael to scare/persuade Klaus instead of Ansel anyway, if she'd wanted. I don't actually think she even thought of Mikael when she was looking for her loved ones to resurrect, though, she was so shocked to hear he's back. ANYWAY. My point is I think that she'd likely take Ansel's side. Just a thought, but I would love to see that fight. Edited November 16, 2014 by rue721 Link to comment
