AngieBee1 April 23 Share April 23 Adaptation of the 2019 novel of the same name; ON SWIFT HORSES is a sometimes uneven tale about the lives of five people who are all on a quest for something more out of their lives. Daisy Edgar-Jones stars as Muriel who lives a safe and comfortable life with boyfriend Lee (Will Poulter)is disarmed by the sudden appearance of Lee's brother Julius (Jacob Elordi) into their lives. Immediately and inexplicably drawn to each other, Julius and Muriel remain connected despite being separated by distance with Julius striking out on his own in Vegas and meeting a fellow rolling stone in Henry (Diego Calva) and Muriel settled in California forging a bond with idealistic neighbor Sandra (Sasha Calle). Despite some of the bigger concepts of the film, the story is still a quiet, meditative look at finding yourself or another aspect of yourself. My friend thought some things were too abstract, especially with Julius' storyline, but to me that goes with the 50's era of such things like homosexuality not being spoken of openly. While it does lag in the second half, the strong third act makes up for it. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/153220-on-swift-horses-2025/
