No idea, I thought it was new but who knows. What struck me watching this was the sad state of these young women's self worth and self esteem. The desperate need to belong to a group is something that doesn't reonte with me. And it made me sad to hear beautiful young women talk about how ugly they felt. And then at the end the filmmaker tries to make it about her own life journey and that just felt weird bc suddenly its about her and not the girls she's been interviewing. And the undercurrent of people going undercover for HBO was bizarre because the people in the film are not undercover. Sort of a disjointed mess to me. I was really interested in seeing it before it aired, then I was majorly disappointed. When the filmmaker started talking about herself, it was bizarre. Go look at the thread for Bama Rush in the HBO Documentaries topic. It's from 2023. It makes sense to me that TLC would be showing it now, as they are linked with Max now. All the TLC shows are now available on Max. Edited Tuesday at 07:06 AM by EtheltoTillie 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151425-bama-rush-in-the-media/#findComment-8554302
Natalie68 Tuesday at 06:59 PM Share Tuesday at 06:59 PM There was a kerfuffle on youtube re one of the girls in Bama Rush and her Christmas haul she was showing off. Her last name was Darnell I think. She was showing off all of her Hermes/Dior/Chanel/etc gifts. Then people were picking them apart and saying most of what she received was fake. From jewelry to handbags to clothes to shoes. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151425-bama-rush-in-the-media/#findComment-8554533
