Chicago Redshirt October 28 Share October 28 I felt like starting this topic to discuss some of the characters from the HBO show as the exist in the Matt Reeves movie and elsewhere for people who might want to know or discuss them. I'll start with Sofia, who is perhaps my favorite. As far as I know, Sofia Falcone Gigante first debuted in a limited comic series called "The Long Halloween." This has since been adapted into an animated movie. The plot of it is that there is a war going on between the Falcone and Maroni crime families. A serial killer is picking off members of each, striking on holidays, and getting the nickname the Holiday Killer, or just Holiday, because the killer would leave tokens associated with the holiday along with a custom gun used for the killing. Batman was trying to figure out who Holiday was while dealing with various of his rogues. It turns out that Holiday is Alberto Falcone. Or is it? At least, Alberto takes credit for the Holiday killings. But the comic shows that there is at least one other involved in them. (And the animated movie has another suspect). Sofia ends up in that series falling from a tall building and in a wheelchair. Sofia also appeared in the miniseries Dark Victory, where another serial killer called the Hangman was taking out victims. For anyone who has seen the series, it's probably not too difficult to guess who the serial killer is in that one. Unlike the HBO show, comics Sofia was a Gigante by marriage. Her mother's name was Louisa not Isabella. And as "Gigante" might imply, she was very tall and strong, cutting a very different figure from Cristin. Comics Sofia was fully respected and embraced by Carmine and a regular part of the family business. She also IIRC had something going on with Sal Maroni. Link to comment
