Anyone watching? I’m halfway through and I haven’t learned anything new . Father was a bastard, poor Dennis’s death coming up, Brian had/has severe mental problems that were never addressed by his parents. I was shocked at the photo they showed of cousin Mike Loves family home. Never knew he was from a wealthy family. Competing with the Beatles?! Didn’t stand a chance. While I appreciate the harmonies , the style is very old fashioned. I’d say I like about 3 or 4 songs of theirs. (God Only Knows) Even so I actually saw them at MSG in the 70’s. Wonderful show. 
Edited to add I just finished watching it and I guess I forgot a bunch of this songs cause it’s definitely more than three or four that I really like.😀 Every time I watch a documentary about The Beach Boys I find it so sad because of the recognition they didn’t get ..how their music didn’t transcend into the late 60s but of course it couldn’t. They did what they did and it has a place in time for what it is and it is beautiful. The death of Dennis is so heartbreaking. The association with Charles Manson is horrifying, and how that must’ve weighed on him the rest of his life. They didn’t go into his death at all except for the in memorium at the end. And their father was such horrible man to have sold off their catalog besides all the other things that he did. It’s such a heartbreaking thing, but it brings back memories of upbeat music from my childhood .
