Rewatching this episode during the marathon, I just noticed Erwin and Zoe are with the scouts during the scene in the forest, and that Erwin was the person that looks away when he notices Eren smiling at him during their return through the town. Keith Shadis, Eren's drill instructor, is the scouts' commander at the time as well.
