An episode is considered "aired" the first time it airs whether that's in the US, UK or via streaming.  PBS tends to release the full seasons of their shows on their streaming service, Passport after the first episode of a new season debuts.  

Therefore, read episode threads at your own risk as they may contain plot details from episodes that haven't yet aired on PBS.
