I don't get why they had to make Haddie gay. Was there a quota to fill? I'm not against portraying gay people in a show, but this feels forced to me. She was a raging heterosexual teenager in high school and I'm not gay so I can't speak to when people admit to, and make that lifestyle change, but I have quite a few gay family members and friends and by high school...even as early as middle school...they all just "knew".

I read that those were Sam Huntington's real-life kids.
Sam Witwer was interviewed a while back and said that the ending made it impossible for a sequel, but I disagree. If not a sequel, then a Josh and Nora spin-off?

Monica Potter's nasal voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Is that her normal voice, or does she only use that awful pitch when she plays Kristina?

Hunter Parrish (Jeffrey Grant) played one of the kids on "Weeds" and he was phenomenal. I'm surprised we haven't seen him in more stuff.

My DVR keeps cutting off the previews so I really have no idea what will happen.
I watched it on ITunes so there wasn't a preview. Usually, it's up on SyFy by now but so far, there's nothing. Is there a preview of the finale out there? Does anyone have a link?

There were lots of anvils. Nora is pregnant. She and Josh have reconciled and have a place all set up to go...her apartment. They got custody of Catmandude.
Aiden is getting tired and disgusted with his journey. He has a wish that there would be an afterlife (Henry's image), but he knows it's not true. He's had a long life as it is and he's caused a lot of pain. He will probably continue to relapse and cause pain if he lives. Susannah is gone (I hate that) and that's the only way I could have seen Aiden surviving...going off to be with the wife he had when he was human. Sally is already dead but is waiting to get her door to finish her journey.

The stupid husband portrayal drives my husband nuts. It's prevalent in so many commercials, I can't even begin by linking just one, here. Though I suppose it's better than "ring around the collar".

I didn't catch everyone's routine and I tuned in this season mainly to watch Meryl and Charlie, but I caught a few others last night in the process.
Meryl and Charlie are professional athletes who dance on ice for a living. Not surprising that changing the medium to a wood floor just showcases how versatile they are. That's the athleticism. Charlie has his looks and personality going for him as well. It's tougher for Meryl, especially without Charlie as her partner because I think she's inherently very shy. And she does have peripheral vision issues. On the ice, I think Charlie is an expert at working around this, but Maks has not had as many years dealing with it, so we see some hesitation on Meryl's part at times, like when they are not actually hand-in-hand.
I'm no professional, so I can't judge the validity of Charlie and Sharna's timing issues but I was scratching my head over it, for sure. A gold medal Olympian doesn't have timing issues. Period, end of story.
I think Charlie will make it all the way to finals because he has an existing fan base and he is probably picking up new ones because he is so damn cute and personable. Not so much with Meryl and though I think she's really good, this show is not just judged on talent like the Olympics, so I think we will see her go before the end, unfortunately.

I think next week, they are going to somehow wind up destroying the house in order to get rid of Ramona. There's no way another family could move in there while it's in the clutches of evil. My predictions for next week are that the gang accomplishes this and in the process, Aiden is killed and Sally gets her door. And hopefully Josh and Nora escape to rebuild their lives and live happily ever after.

I still haven't watched this episode because it won't load on the Showtime Anytime app. Last week's loads just fine, this week's House of Lies loads fine, but I keep getting an error message for Emily.

I thought everyone's reactions made sense in the face of fresh grief. That doesn't mean they would have done the same once thinking with a clear head, but it's the rare person who can absorb a shock of a tragic death and immediately function in a logical manner. Everything is knee-jerk.
I also thought the acting was phenomenal, particularly CB and JM.

One if my favorite series finales, Six Feet Under used Sia's "Breathe Me", a song which I hadn't heard before then but which has been on my iPod ever since. And it fit perfectly. I still tear up thinking about it.

Great thread!
Sometimes, classic rock songs really make a commercial and sometimes they blow it. And sometimes it's the same band but a different advertiser that makes that difference.
For instance, I mentioned this ad in the "favorite commercials" thread, but the use of "Sympathy For a The Devil" in the Mercedes ad was just awesome.
But earlier, Pepsi used the Stones' "Brown Sugar" which really showed how dumb the execs are because yes, Pepsi is brown and sweet, but you mean to tell me no one at the company or the agency figured out the song was about drugs?

Fleetwood Mac "Landslide" was in the original spot. I really like that song. I didn't mind this one, but it didn't have sentimental meaning for me on top of the commercial like the Fleetwood Mac song.
It took me a few tries because I'm posting from an iPad, but apparently the forum won't recognize the mobile URL. If that's your problem, just take out the "m." when you copy paste the URL and the video should embed.

I agree about the suspension of disbelief. I love Macy..in anyone else's hands, Frank would just be downright annoying and grating, but Macy brings additional layers to the character.
Still, this liver thing is totally unbelievable. I wouldn't mind if they killed him off but had him haunt the Gallagher kids, a la Harry Morgan on Dexter.

An annoying comedian, in an annoying commercial, who stars in a completely annoying show. Perfect.
As a former resident of that city, the show pisses me off. Yes, I know this is the commercial thread. Sorry. But her annoyance spills over.

It's totally sappy, but the guy who raises the Clydesdale horses for Budweiser always tears me up. And then this year, they came out with the sequel with the impossibly cute puppy.

I thought Max was in the middle school and they were still in elementary. As near as I can tell, Max is in 8th, Sydney in 5th and Victor in 4th.
