Oh, thank goodness it's not just me!  Every time he's on the screen my inner voice keeps saying "That is a very good looking guy."   He sure as heck doesn't look 55.

55!  I'll be honest, I probably saw Karate Kid once growing up and haven't seen it for years.  I just binged both seasons though and love it.  I had no idea he's 55 though!

  2. So I hate all the "voting with the house crap" the BB has turned into and keep thinking it would be fun to see a rule where they can't strategize or something.  It would never work obviously but after watching the triple eviction, I'd actually love to see an all star season played out in one day.  Everyone would know enough about each other to vote but wouldn't have time to talk.   Just constantly moving to the next comp and eviction.

Sutton went from happy she was pregnant, distraught over losing the baby, to never wanting children? I hope this is just trauma over everything, because poor Richard. She never told him this before the wedding and he seems to keep having to sacrifice for her career.

I took it as she didn't realize she didn't want kids until she was pregnant.  I think that's fair.  At 26 she probably hadn't thought much about what having kids meant before.  My heart breaks for Richard though.  I don't see them coming back from this unless she changes her mind.

  4. I loved it.  I expected it to be a lighthearted show but I like the mystery piece and am probably in the minority but didn't see Nathan being the "bad guy" coming.

I really hope it gets renewed because I want to see where it goes.  I was kind of hoping Croak would sponsor Nathan but oh well.

Also, very superficial but I love Ingrid's outfit in the last scene.

  5. Obviously they could have been lying but I read an article with the showrunner or creator, and he said there was nothing in their contract that said they had to wait til they got to the altar.  Seems unlikely but who knows.

I don't know what to think about Jessica being forced to stay.  It's possible considering there was no one from her side there.  I still don't like her.  Even the way she kept telling Mark she loved him during the ceremony and was relieved he said I do.  Could have been editing but I'm not a fan either way.

I agree that Damian and Giannina could have been in on creating a storyline.   When she was telling her mom that she'd be fine she didn't even seem upset.  Also, the way she way laying on the couch with her dressed draped over the back was soooooo staged.  I rolled my eyes.

Kelly (and Jessica actually) seem like the 30 something old women who say and think they want commitment but don't.   They're still only attracted to men who are bad for them.

Hands down, my favorite part was when Lauren swore during the ceremony.  I find her to be one of the most likable people I've ever seen on tv.  She's adorable and funny.  I also love her relationship with her mom and how they tease each other.  Cameron is intense but, as someone else said, I understand considering his field.  I used to work in an engineering firm and those guys were brilliant but most were really awkward.  I think Cameron is similar.

Kelly & Kenny's seem like a perfect match for each other. The family meeting seemed to have gone great.

Yes, I've liked them from the beginning because they seem like the most mature and sure of what they.  They don't seem too wrapped up in the magic.  Because of that though I haven't been super invested in their story because it's so steady, if that makes sense.  That being said, their families seemed so genuine and they truly warmed my heart.

GiGi is kinda mean. She’s very immature, and it has become clear why she was single.

The first couple episodes I thought she seemed kind of flighty and like she had no idea what was going on but then I was impressed by how open she was with Damian about getting him to open up.  It's pretty obvious now though that she wants to fight.  I don't fault her for the stuff she's been upset about but don't like the way she handles it.  Damian is starting to look broken.

  8. I loved the wave metaphor.  I am one who fears death and that actually made me feel a lot better.

I was kind of expecting a different ending for Eleanor, like she'd have a bigger role in the universe.   When she was talking Gen and said she wouldn't have to hear from them anymore I actually thought she had suggested Gen go through the door and she would become the new judge.

The twin's projects crack me up. Nobody blinks at them renting a backhoe(?)

I'm happy Miggy got a win over the kids.

Me too!  I know how most of the stuff is completely unreasonable and that they're usually throw away lines.  And those little girls crush the roles.

  10. About Winston's comment, I agree they worded it funny but I took it to mean Monte didn't deserve to die as a murderer.  I get that the kids were using him since he already died and wouldn't face any consequences but they're still making his legacy that of a murderer.  Yes he was a horrible person and his family was horrible but now everyone is going to remember him as a murderer and his family has to live with that.  I'm not sure if we're supposed to think its acceptable because of how he was and how his family was.  For example, I don't think people or the kids would have been as accepting of pinning a murder on someone like the kid who died in the car accident in the first season, Jeff I think?  He was a good kid and his family would suffer if they thought he'd murdered someone.  Monte was a horrible person, the worst one on the show in my opinion, but he still wasn't a murderer and I think that's what Winston meant.

I thought his issue was that Monty was being blamed for something he knew Monty couldn’t have possibly done.  Yeah he was a shit person and deserved his punishment for what he did to Tyler but he doesn’t deserve to take the fall for someone else’s crime.

Haha I was just posting the same thing 🙂

  11. I finished the season so, beware of spoiler comments.  I actually thought it was going to be Ani's mother who killed Bryce.  That she found out about them sleeping together and thought he'd get her off track.  And that was why Ani was lying during the narration, to cover for her.  I didn't see it coming that it was Alex (it had crossed my mind that Jessica had something to do with it because the conversation with her dad was weird).  I kind of want to go back and rewatch it to see if there clues about Alex but I actually have no desire to watch it again so that says a lot.

All that being said, I thought the first 2 seasons were pretty realistic depiction about how hard it is for teens today whereas this one was just so over the top that it took me out of it.  I loved Tyler's arc but thought the babysitting til he's better thing was ridiculous.  The whole, murder setup and coverup is just ridiculous though

  12. When Jonah wouldn't stop dancing with Emma I was sure it was the start of the characters break up over misunderstanding but character A can't tell character B the truth and we go back to the will they won't they tropw so I'm glad that didn't happen.

  13. I also felt horrible for Dina.  Lauren Ash completely sold the reaction when they flew out though.  I'm sure it was supposed to be played for laughs but put her doing the same exact thing in a drama and it would be gut wrenching.  Poor Dina.  Her babies.

  14. I was really hoping they'd pull a list minute twist where Chidi didn't have his mind wiped and there was some other big change.  Kristen Bell crushed that montage scene.  She broke my heart.

I'm hoping since it's The Good Place they won't go for the obvious and have Simone and Chidi together next season.  It seems obvious but they usually avoid the obvious so fingers crossed.  Even though I'm sure Kristen Bell would knock it out of the park, I just don't want to see Eleanor go through that!

I never watched Gossip Girl, so I wasn't familiar with Penn Badgley.  His sardonic narration plus the great production values saved this for me.  That said, I wasn't the least bit sympathetic towards Joe, and I'm sure I was meant to be.  I mean, for all of his "I just want love" schtick, he murdered Beck entirely out of self-preservation.  So glad that Karen got out alive - she was the only functional, sane character in the entire series.

Also, was Joe meant to be so thin and borderline sallow? Because it was made clear he wasn't in great shape, and he looked like a solid wind gust would have knocked him off his feet.  I get that with the Benji and Elijah murders that he caught them off guard.  But I kept thinking Peach should have been able to take him down easily.  Hell, even Paco could have, if he wanted.

In any case, I was hoping Beck would get out and live.  For all of her flaws, she's not a killer, and didn't know that Joe has a titanium skull that is impervious to all blows.  She was focused on escape, so her last actions didn't bother me.

You'd be surprised how strong someone who is frail can be.  Especially when they have adrenaline.  I used to work in an assisted living facility and we had a locked memory care unit.  There was a 90 something year old woman who couldn't have weighed more than 90 lbs and one day she tried to leave behind me when I came in.   At first I tried to pull the door closed but she pushed back and I was shocked how strong she was!  I couldn't get the door closed because she was pushing so hard.

Anyway, this might be a dumb question but in terms of Candace, were we supposed to think he faked the Instagram photos under her new name?  I actually thought she was alive based on that and that Joe had scared her off so she needed a new identity.  Maybe I'm just naive though.

  16. Agree with everyone about D'arcy.  There were so many times that she'd do something and I could immediately picture the real character doing it.  The two that stick out to me are when Eleanor throws her head back listening to Chidi talk and the way Chidi was standing by the blackboard.   I thought it looked awkward the way she was standing but then I pictured Chidi at the blackboard and it was exactly how he'd stand.
