  1. Half-paying attention but I believe they said Sunny and Alyssa were wearing guest Christian Siriano's creations. That or the Zoot suit is back in style.
  2. "I heard she was up for jobs with both The View and Fox News at the same time, and probably would have kept being a MAGA mouthpiece if she went to Fox, imo." I think people fail to realize these talking political heads are just that. What they say on the air does not necessarily reflect their political beliefs. They go where the money takes them and they say what best reflects their network's stance.
  3. The audio wasn't edited or manipulated. Though the kicker is gender-affirming surgery for prisoners was provided during the Trump administration. As for Alyssa she's a Republican so why does it continue to shock viewers when she says Republican things, lol? Her goal for the election season was to drive home the fact Trump is not fit for office. She did her best to make viewers aware of what he was really like. Now the election is over. There are many NeverTrumpers who consider themselves part of the GOP not the MAGA party. Like Alyssa and Ana they still hold conservative values but for the 2024 election they either voted for Kamala, did or did not vote down ballot or stayed home.
  4. She didn't have to talk about these things because her recorded words from 2020 did it for her (or actually for the Rs.) One of the most effective ads had Kamala expressing support for T prisoners who receive free surgeries via John and Joan taxpayer. The ad said "Kamala stand for They/Them. Trump stands for you.
  5. That's a bit misleading. The nanny, the gardener and the aides who take care of the elderly are part of a larger network. Just because you see one nanny in a residence does not mean she just happened to answer an ad. They usually come from recruiting businesses who, like the large factories et al have thousands of prospective hires on their roster. The example of large concentrations of Haitian refugees settling in one city is similar to the nanny, gardener, or the aide. They're just less noticeable working as lone employees or in small groups. When I had to hire a live-in housekeeper for my parents, I found each agency had a specific group of immigrants from certain parts of the world. Some were strictly from Ghana. Some came from Ukraine, Georgia Russia, Poland. It's a huge underground industry which operates in plain sight. I finally found a reputable agency who only recruited those with visas. The per hour amount doubled but you know that's the difference between legal vs non-legal, lol.
  6. She used to have her birthday cake made by Sylvia Weinstock Bakery. I remember Whoopi bringing her out with the cake on her birthday. Sylvia passed away a few years ago. The real scandal is her cake from (I believe) last year was purchased from a NYC bakery Ruby et Violette which is owned by Rebekah Mercer a member of the ultra-conservative Mercer Family. They are huge donors to Trump and the R party. The Mercer Foundation funds conservative causes. Her billionaire father had a stake in Breitbart (remember him?) which he sold to his daughters. She also co-founded PARLER which is a (was) a conservative site. So, this little Staten Island bakery has nothing on Whoopi's previous baker of choice, politically speaking anyway.
  7. But Whoopi is a 69-year-old "working woman who has to work." Surely, she can plainly see the suffering of the working-class American from the balcony of her Italian villa. Or maybe from a stadium hosting her new Women's Sports Network. Or possibly in the vineyards where they cultivate the grapes for her prosecco brand. Or maybe from a Broadway stage where she produces and stars in (for-profit) productions. Or maybe from the demo of readers who buy her pearls of wisdom offerings on the written and digital page. Or lastly and most importantly she can see the plight of the working-class through the haze of her cannabis business. Yes, poor "has to work" but not really, Whoopi.
  8. When Sunny's veil slips...wow. She even started to blink in a weird way. Sara and Alyssa hammered home the hard truth while Sunny's constant rebuttal was race! race!! race!!! No, Sunny the Republicans don't need to look inward they won EVERYTHING. It's the Democratic leadership who needs to be introspective to figure out why even sane voters flipped for Trump.
  9. The following quote is from a Newsweek article from 04/24. This pertains to migrants who were bused to NYC. "A family of four migrants in New York City receives more monthly funding than a family of four that includes a military veteran who receives disability compensation. New York City has taken in more than 175,000 migrants and spent upward of $1.45 billion just in fiscal year 2023 to shelter, feed and provide services to migrants. The city has said there is "no end in sight" to the copious numbers of migrants and projects that an extended timeline of the current rate of migration means a cost to the city of approximately $12 billion by the 2025 fiscal year." "Migrants coming to New York City are being given prepaid debit cards that in certain cases, like food assistance, dwarf the amounts provided to families of legal status. For example, the average family of four's monthly Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payment is $713, but migrant families of four receive $1,400 a month." This quote is from LawHelpNY "Immigrants who have just arrived in New York may be eligible for public benefits that provide money and medical care, including: Cash Assistance provides you with some money twice a month so you can buy things you need, like toiletries and clothes. Medicaid pays for your medical care, like going to the doctor or getting medications. WIC helps women, infants and children buy things they need, like formula or cereal." HOUSING usually means a hotel room which the city pays for but there are those that are being housed in paid apartments.
  10. I think Americans have an innate sense fairness so when they see people arriving by the millions while others follow legal procedures and wait years to enter this country legally, there is a feeling of resentment. Add to the fact they're being given asylum status, housing and monthly stipends all of which are overwhelming the system, then yes, Americans be they whatever race or ethnicity, have a right to feel resentment towards these newcomers. If Canadians were flooding our borders Americans would feel the same way.
  11. Except a lawyer should never ask a witness a question unless they know the answer. She should have carried that principle over to her View gig. Oh, well.
  12. When Alyssa noted a border town in Texas comprised of Latinos voted 75% for Trump, Sunny accused them of misogyny. Alyssa who, unlike Sunny, comes prepared with actual facts, explained they voted for Trump because of immigration. I don't know if you noticed, but as Sunny kept impatiently interrupting Alyssa, she was becoming more emotional with each accusation. For a former federal prosecutor to lead with emotion rather than facts shows you who has the weaker argument. *HINT* It wasn't Alyssa.
  13. Alyssa is constantly accused of being some sort of conservative operative under the guise of a friendly View co-host. One could argue Alyssa has been warning them for the past year Biden was too old. She has been warning them the economy was a huge issue with Americans which Whoopi and Joy constantly dismissed as they spoke of other accomplishments in the Biden administration. As Clinton famously said in 1992: It's the economy, stupid. She also brought up immigration which Sunny shot down as racism. Not really Sunny, it's more about people rolling in unfettered, overwhelming our cities and the system, but you do you, as you always do. It could be some of the myopic co-hosts haven't learned a damn thing. Maybe that's why a few of them were sitting there looking alternately shell-shocked and pissed off this morning.
  14. Alyssa was shaking her head because Sunny incorrectly referred to non-college educated white women as "uneducated white women." Sunny later had to make the correction. As for Biden, he referred to himself as a bridge to the next generation. He should have kept his promise and not run for a second term. There were many viable Democrats who could have shown their chops during primary season and made themselves and their policies known to the voters. I give Whoopi credit today. Instead of sulking she is actually being a good moderator by trying to keep the mood light and upbeat while they discuss the tough questions about last night's loss.
  15. BAM. Alyssa voted for Kamala Harris.
