  1. MR didn't have anything to do with JB leaving the show, but it's been a long standing rumor that part of MR coming back was that the character of Peter be "retired".

That part I fully believe.  The show went years without even mentioning his name or acknowledging his existence as a character.  The most talk of Peter that we got was in the last couple of years since Missy left with the Dimera CEO wars.

I can also see TPTB "retiring" the character just out of good faith when Missy did come back. Considering the real life circumstances, it probably wasn't worth the trouble.

It was Eli and Sarah (Linsey). Linsey had to drop off twitter due to the abuse from Missy's fan base, and I will always wonder if she was cut from the show right after as a result.

I think she was. Things have cooled down considerably since then, so I can see it becoming water under the bridge with time passing.

I've liked Missy always,  but I will admit to losing respect for her and looking at her differently.  I still am able to enjoy the character of Jennifer.

  3. As much as travel is a factor, I don't think it's as cut and dry as "I don't live in LA, I can't come back to the show". I would venture Cady getting divorced from her husband is a bigger reason then her being able to book a hotel room for a few days.

Also I personally don't know what Missy's situation is, travel and lodging may not be that big of an issue. In the interview she did, Missy sounded like she wanted to come back on a semi regular basis.

I also feel like things and people change. Someone not willing/able to be on the show currently, doesn't mean we won't see them again. Hell, most who have left have come back.

I'm not necessarily a Bo and Hope fan but I think it's fine for a mostly retired actor to set a rate and not do it if they don't want to meet the rate.

It's still work.  It's fine if people want to come back at a market rate but I don't think it's a moral failing to not want to. I don't know where he lives but we've heard through other articles that people have been offered jobs and the offer isn't even enough to cover travel.  I know I'm not doing anything work related that could cost me money.

I agree, I have no problem with Peter regarding the business side of things.

What I don't like is I feel Peter can be manipulative and use the press to drum up interest in Bo as a way to force TPTB to cave to his "demands/rate" etc. Making statements like "they didn't ask me back" which is complete BS, of course they asked him back. They just couldn't come to an agreement. But Peter would never say that to the press.

I know for the actors who no longer live in LA, coming back to Days for a "short stint" isn't economical because they have to pay for their own travel/lodge, and the pay isn't what it used to be. I don't blame anyone who doesn't come back, but be honest about it.

I appreciate Patsy Pease (Kim Brady) for being honest that it isn't feasible for her to come back for "visits". She no longer lives in LA, so to come back she would be working for free. Her last "visit" on the show she stayed with Jen Lilley, so that worked out. Unless they're bringing her back for a longer story Arc, it usually isn't worth it.

Yes but did they sue him? Ari did and that's the point. You would be hard pressed to find actors who sue networks/tv shows and be allowed to return after that(Michael Nader on AMC was another example). If there's an example I legit can't think of one.

Just to add to this. Even if a miracle happened and Ari and Corday made up I wouldn't be surprised if Sony wouldn't approve her coming back. It could be a liability issue.

I'd venture that most people do not return to a job after suing for sexual harassment.

  6. Regarding Ari, outside of the networks involvement.  I also wonder how people on the voting committees/voters may have felt. Not that they're against her, but there may have been some uncertainty or hesitation to nominate/vote for her for a role or show that she is in the middle of a lawsuit over. People may not have known if she wanted to be honored, is it appropriate,  more harm than good?

As an aside Ari, Stacy, Paul, Emily, and others did a fan event this past weekend.  While there Stacy and Ari were having some fun and acting out a fist fight between "Kristen and Nicole". Ari commented on the video with, "what a missed opportunity.  We will never know/see."  Not that I thought there was a chance she could ever come back, but there seemed like so much sadness in the quote. She clearly still adores her co-stars. Unfortunate all around.

  7. I'm sure Eric M submitted his scenes with Stacy and Finley (Rachel), I can see how they would score him the nomination.

I'm guessing Tamara may have submitted the Bayview scenes, or the attempted rape scene. While a surprise Tamara is always good.

I think Ari is 100% the snub here, but I'm not surprised.  Most people don't get nominated while simultaneously suing their show ( production company). Unfortunate

  8. Ironically they don't really tend to do the "look alike" scenario as much. Andrea Evans originally portrayed Hattie, until Deidre took over the role later in the show. Bonnie originally wasn't a "look alike" to Adrienne". The rest are just the same actor portraying different roles.

I actually wouldn't mind Marcy coming back as a different character and her being a "look alike" to Abby as a character point.

The last successful example was Kristian Alphonso playing Gina. Initially there was a general ambiguity of whether she was Gina or Hope.

Does anyone remember if Tommy Horton or Sandy Horton were mentioned when Alice died?

I don't remember Sandy being mentioned,  but Tommy is dead. Marie is the only living Horton child. We last saw her when Alice died.

Would love to see more Hortons through this story. Bring Marie and Jessica back. Melissa, Mike, Nathan, Jeremy, Scotty, Eli, etc. I've always said Lucas should be cemented as the Horton "patriarch".

Clyde in jail knows about a raid and handles of from there? This ridiculous he should have been killed off.

Sloan has a few glasses of wine because she's scared and nervous and they think she's suddenly an alcoholic. Lol

I was screaming at the TV!!! What made me holler was Marlena and John were questioning the alcoholism and giving sympathy to Eric. Eric, the actual alcoholic in the relationship, the one who killed someone over it.

Sloan: I'd love new mom tips and you would be so great as you had twins right off the bat!

Marlena: Actually my first child died of SIDS

WTF. Was that necessary? I know we know Sloan has done bad stuff but why is Marlena so awful to her?

Exactly, of all times to bring DJ up. Obviously Sloan didn't know about it. Marlena could of easily let the comment pass and gave Sloan some encouraging words. She also could of played along with Sloan to help ease the tension. For a world renowned shrink she was being completely oblivious.

I don't know why her and John are always seething with disgust around her. We know what she has done, but they don't.  They are always incredibly cold to her.

Justin raised Alex.  He doesn’t just stop being his dad.  I hate when the show does this crap.
Alex is a jerk but he is not totally wrong.   I don’t think I have ever seen Justin win a case
Brady was way to quiet   It would have been nice to see Belle back though.  Carrie never comes home so we all know that wasn’t happening.

Lucus is a grown man why does he need his mom permission?

Chad and Everett worked well together.

Haha, yes middle age Lucas whom is a grandfather needs Kate's permission. They should of framed that conversation very differently.  Harris should of been asking Kate for help not permission.

The Nicole and Brady scene was very well done.

The Chanel/Jada scene was very awkward.  For a while I was trying to remember what possible conflict the two had. I completely forgot about Talia. Very mild conflict if you ask me.

I assume we are all supposed to forget that Tate and Holly are in the same family, and spent time together as young children. It's interesting that it's being pivoted as a war with the families. Tate is a Kiriakis/Brady and Holly is more a Kiriakis/Brady (thru Eric) than a Dimera ironically.

Nicole needs a visit from her father Abe ASAP!!! I think he is the only one to give her perspective here.

I can't figure how Daniel was around when Brady was a kid, though...

Daniel was Victor's godson. That was always canon. Daniel's "parents" were Victor's old friends. When they had trouble conceiving, Victor stepped in and used his money/power to "acquire" Maggie's eggs (not knowing they were hers).

I'm assuming it was Thomas who had Susan brought to Edmund.  It fits, two random henchmen. First I thought Rolf, but he wouldn't of kept that from EJ.

Rafe is, in effect, the Mac Scorpio of the show. Him raising a teenage girl while her parents are off god knows where would be fully in line with the character.

One of the biggest mistakes was taking David away from Rafe. Him being a father really grounded the character, In a much more meaningful way than just being Salem's residential "good guy".

Can someone give me a brief little summary of this Edmund guy, please?

Edmund was Susan's boyfriend and eventually husband during the end of the Susan/Kristen/Baby EJ storyline.

Susan, Edmund and Baby EJ left Salem together as a family. Edmund helped raise EJ. EJ gets his "English man persona" from Edmund.

Edmund is essentially an all around "great guy". He was Susan's knight in shining armor during the craziness.

When EJ was killed, Susan had a breakdown. She left Edmund, came to Salem to seek revenge. That is when she took Will.

I assume we are to believe that Edmund is seeking revenge for Susan leaving him years ago.
