  1. Without spoiling me for anything beyond what s1 of the tv series depicts: I was surprised when trying to google a summary of the original short story that the tv series finale's big reveal (well, the first big reveal, the double-fakeout with the display) happens very early on? Is that true?

Yeah, this is my problem. If the atmosphere outside was lovely and they were being lied to all along about the dangers faced if they left, or even thought of leaving, I could see some reasoning behind the Fascism involved in the Silo, but all that manipulation and violence, etc. just to "hide" a truth that they are already enforcing? Why?

It's not rational. Some human beings just want control, want to dominate others, and come up with justifications after the fact. But it's about their feelings and desires.

Hmmm.  I could be wrong about it.  I have some episodes saved, so I'll check it out when I have a chance.

I also thought it looked completely different!

Much as I love the mental image of Asher Winnie-the-Poohing it everywhere the way Trevor does, yes he wears concealing underwear that's mostly obscured by his shirt tails.

Oh, totally, sorry, my post was unclear: he isn't wearing pants but yeah, he's wearing a dance belt, according to interviews.

My biggest question is: does the guy who plays Trevor get to put pants on in between his scenes or is he walking around in his skivvies all day?

One of his favorite things to say in interviews is that he takes them off and keeps them off, lololol. Basically in order to get over the nerves. While I'm not a huge fan of Instagram, I recommend joining it just for all the little behind the scenes videos a lot of the cast puts up; in any of the ones where the cast is playing basketball between scenes, Asher definitely does not have pants on, lol.

Why did they need back rub currency when they already had a free back rub train in which Pete would no longer be the caboose?

I assume the backrub train is how the ghosts cash their back rubs in.

Yes, I just reran that portion (early in the 1.3 episode) and while it's Flower who refers to the Farnsby's as being "Next Door," it is Mr. Farnsby who says "I don't love the idea of a "pretty sick" business adjoining our property."

As a writer, I get why they made this change: Thor and his son having a conversation for the first time in a thousand years face to face is drama.

Thor and his son having to yell their heartfelt feelings across huge lawns is comedy.

Plus, one of the longrunning themes of this show is that it's difficult to be a ghost. It's rare for people to be able to see them, their powers are weak and ineffectual, possessing a host is rare and dangerous. So, again, as a writer, I get why they didn't want to make it easy for Thor.

As a fan? It feels cruel! It kinda bummed me out a little, I'm not gonna lie. Though part of that is a credit to the show: I've fallen so in love with the characters they've created that I only want good things for them all! Which is not conducive to comedy!

Definitely not the ghost actors singing.

Check out Richie Moriarity's Instagram! It was, indeed, all of them in the cast, there are pictures of them in the recording studio. I was surprised: from the show itself and from "Ghosts: The Musical", we know Richie and Danielle can sing, maybe Brandon, but I wasn't sure about the rest. Good for them!

Even if you hate Instagram and TikTok (and I do, especially TikTok), the actors post some really funny stuff on there. The cast also interacts with each other in humorous ways in the Instagram comments of things they post.

While that's a nice feel-good number, it's not really representative of how the show is doing. Live+35 is meaningless but it looks good. The numbers that keep the show alive are top secret (C3 ratings, meaning people who actually watch the full show including all the commercials, within 3 days of airing), but the overnights and L+3 usually track somewhat close. These were the numbers for the last airing of a new episode of Ghosts (Nov. 10). 0.57 in the target demographic share is respectable. 50+ numbers are completely irrelevant and are ignored by advertisers (because they're dumb--we have money and we buy stuff).

So it's definitely a middle-of-the-pack show and a jewel in CBS' crown, behind Young Sheldon. Show isn't at any kind of risk whatsoever with those stats. Todd, on the other hand, is circling the drain and the plug is about to get pulled.

Wow, this is informative! How did you learn all this?

Also, given this, what's the best way to watch? Via DVR? If you have Paramount+, live on the app? (I assume they must track everything.) Are we still in a world where you're only tracked if you're a Nielsen family, or...? (That feels unlikely.)
