Today's first case: The teeth the teeth! Maybe that should be the teef the teef! They jumped out so strongly that I barely noticed the dark roots. You don't have to be affluent to save up a few years to have those teeth fixed without a complete restoration; I would expect that to be a high priority for most people. If she doesn't do something, I see full dentures in her near future. Meanwhile, the defendant thinks the plaintiff (mother-in-law) hates him because he is uneducated. He says this is because he joined the marines instead of getting educated. The former marines I have known came out of the corps disciplined and goal oriented and pursued education and/or careers while this guy seems to be a complete loser. Sad all around.

Years ago I was in her position.  If you don't have dental insurance, it is tough.  I always feel for people with dental problems.

It's not like you can fix it with 1k - without insurance = she's probably looking at over 5k on the low-side.

  2. I can't find an edit button so I'll do another post

It was just a very bad ending to a show that went on for years.

If I was the Producer, I couldn't even imagine ending it that way,

I don't understand why shows that go on for years end so badly.

  3. I was thinking about this, Castle had a great run and the producers ended it on one of the worst ending in time.

I know the leads didn't get along, but that is on the Producers.

Even if the Leads hated each other it didn't show on Camera.

Castle deserved a better ending.  I can't imagine working on that show and that was the finale.

Monopolize away! I’m still watching this and it’s nice to know what I have to look forward to, and when to avoid since I have no recollection of the original airings.

Also, not trying to jinx anything, but the past 2 weeks have been full of the type of inane nonsense I watch for. Just people not understanding common sense and coming to court with no/little evidence, thinking they can charm JM to rule in their favor.

Not Monopolizing.  Post Away!  I'm amazed they are running old episodes that I don't remember!  It reminds me of how good it once was and how bad her new show is.

Question - has anyone watched a Court Show where the Baliff had to intervene?  I don't think I've seen one.  I know they have security off to the side, but I've never seen an episode of a Court Show where someone just lost it and they had to have security intervene.

I decided to give this show another try to see if things had improved any. They haven’t - still bad actors doing dumb cases, but I noticed they had a q&a segment with Judge John. I’m not sure a real person submitted the question but it was a nice break from the case.

Like @AngelaHunter said above, this is insulting to long-time viewers of TPC(and I’m not even super long-term).

I'll say it again, Reality Court Shows just doesn't work with Scripted.  I'm amazed she agreed to do it

It's getting bad when she is dragging her husband in to comment.

Posters have said she doesn't need the money, so maybe she likes the lime-light? It was a step down any way you look at it.

I watched 2 episodes and gave up.

    It is just Sad.

  6. The local Station that still airs the People's Court repeats - aired a Commercial for her new show - on another channel.  That show is going down.

You can't do scripted Court Shows.  It just doesn't work.

There was a Court Show that was scripted - they were up-front about it and only about cases where the pay-out was big - millions.  It was awful.  I think it lasted less than a season.

You really can't do scripted with a Court Show - it just doesn't work.

  7. I watched it today.  The kid Plaintiff in the first episode was trying so hard to remember his lines.  He said something like "I wanted to have dominance".  Who says that at his age???  Who says that at any age?   It was crazy.  That kid was having so much trouble remembering his lines - it was BAD.

It was funny and sad at the same time.

I'm done - I'll go back to the People's Court thread.

I have no idea if she needs money, but this is bottom of barrel.

I wish she retired too after watching the first episode.  The set is definitely low-budget.  It seems like a step-down.  It looks like the channel that used to run The People's Court is going to keep airing re-runs.

I think the new Judge Mathis show is using the same set.  I only watched it for a few minutes but it looked like the same set.  Now THAT is cutting corners.

I also didn't like how she let the Plaintiff and Defendant talk to each other   That would have NEVER happened on The People's Court.

OK, I found the show on a non prime channel (UTV44 on Cox) premiering at 7:30 AM, not exactly prime viewing time. Also, UTV44 has been the home of many second (or third or fourth) tier court shows. JM seems about the same, but the set looks low budget and the litigants act like the scripted ones on low end court shows.

The first case featured a plaintiff who is (or acts the part of) a crazy bitch who rented a room to a college student. She hams it up, makes wild gestures and totally disrespects the judge. She has crazy house rules (must plump up the cushions after sitting on a chair or sofa) and changes the security code for the house alarm and fails to tell the tenant the new codes, then complains when he sets off the alarms, disturbing the neighbors and resulting in city fines; naturally she thinks the tenant should pay for the fines. She babbles incoherently in explaining how changing the codes is somehow wrapped up in her trusting the tenant.

Frankly I skimmed by the second case because it was really boring.

Honestly, I wish Judge Milian had retired after her long and successful run with Peoples Court. This show feels low rent. The second episode is this afternoon. Maybe it will get better.

The Levin shrimp is not interested in the details of the cases or the law.  That self-absorbed, obnoxious troll is only interested in two things: digging up dirt on so-called "celebs" and getting his distasteful mug and flappy piehole in front of a camera.

I forgot about his obsession with trotting out his sleazy "hardly knew 'er" garbage. Okay, so three things.

I wish someone could have made THIS commentary at the end of every show:

"OK, I mean, this is really simple, Levin. You cannot text and drive just because you think you're above the laws that little people have to follow."

I wonder what will become of the former Hall Clown. Maybe Svengoolie can hire him to make uber-cheesy, silly intros for B-horror movies.

Svengoolie has too much class to hire Harvey!

I wonder when we'll know who picks up the new show?

Yes, the show is out of production, and I suspect will be ending soon for reruns, and why put effort into it when they make the same money whether they change up episodes, or send out the same ones over and over?   It's just sheer laziness.

Today's rerun was truly epic in the rent-to-own case.  I've never seen two litigants who were so blantant about their felonious behavior.   The realtor was sleazy, the plaintiff was worse, and I only regret that we didn't see mug shots of both at the end.     The plaintiff getting her money back was ridiculous, she and the defendant came to court with very unclean hands, and deserved nothing.

I said before  - Old Hot Bench Judges and Judge Judy ran right to Amazon/Freebee.  I don't know who watches.

I work at home, I just usually watch it the back-ground and the Judge Judy repeats are getting old.

At least Hot Bench is Throwing out new episodes.

I'll never understand it - Judge Judy has 30+ years of repeats and they run the same old episodes time after time.
