I could be wrong, but I don't think Yamiche was ever instrumental in an attempted coup.

I wasn't referring to that. I remarked that it was a juxtaposition to have a MSNBC host say "facts matter" and then show Alcindor in the next segment. Notably, Alcindor tweeted at the 2021 NATO summit that Ukraine was being admitted to NATO. She does not have credibility as a foreign affairs reporter, so I'm inferring that her reporting on the US Supreme Court on Morning Joe and other shows is a better fit for her. I guess foreign affairs just isn't her "beat."

This is kind of like an "inmates are running the asylum situation". All the hosts ganging up on management and stomping their feet till they get their way. I think it was a mistake. Makes the hosts look lazy to me...

That's an interesting idea, but remember Chuck Todd, who has nothing to lose because they took him off his shows, got the ball rolling with this "revolt" on Sunday morning. So by Monday morning Joe and Mika and the primetime hosts had their remarks planned. They knew the way the wind was blowing by then.

  3. They had Yamiche Alcindor reporting live from US Supreme Court this morning. I haven't seen her on Morning Joe in years, I thought she was banned, but perhaps it was an extended time out, or they couldn't get anyone else to stand out there in the cold so early in the morning.

How hypocritical of this show and other MSNBC shows to rail against Ronna Romney McDaniel for spreading the misinformation but in the same hour or day showcase Alcindor who has continually misreported events that she was covering and given questionable to flat-out wrong analysis. Alcindor was also on The Eleventh Hour on the same day as the Rep. Boebert interview and unfortunately Boebert didn't call her out.

I am an adult and I can handle different types of views but will not tolerate bad reporting from Alcindor.

I am pleased that Liz Cheney was present for three segments. I have been wanting her at the table ever since the January 6 committee.

Unfortunately, there was a rough start when Whoopi revealed that Whoopi had sent a video request to Liz requesting Liz’s appearance on the show. Liz then said that she didn’t think we were supposed to discuss that.

So. I know that politicians and celebrities have some taboo topics that are not to be discussed during their interviews. If this was one of them, shame on Whoopi.

    It was four segments.

"Shame on Whoopi?" Whoopi merely revealed her unconventional way of reaching out to a prospective guest. There is nothing shameful there. Liz probably thought Whoopi would be embarrassed if it was brought up, but Liz was there. It worked. It would have been embarrassing to admit if it didn't work.

Joe is yelling at Eddie Glaude. He told Eddie that he had no idea what was going on college campuses. Joe said there is too much antisemitism & kids were bubble-wrapped and afraid to state unpopular opinions.

Good. Maybe Eddie Fraud won't come back.

...Secretary of State's interview live on set with everyone but the Scarboroughs...who zoomed in at the end from their cozy nook to thank him for his lecture at the Brz family foundation or whatever.

Zooming in to cut off Andrea Mitchell who was trying to take over the interview!

  7. We seem to have an abundance of here what could be lacking on The View tomorrow. Whoopi likely left the studio before the Friday taping and Joy is out sick. Whose turn do you think it will be tomorrow? Sara again?

A Pronunciation Pet Peeve.  Were they demonstrating their "affordable gifts" for Mother's Day yesterday

I was surprised to hear Alyssa pronounce the word:   JUE-LUR-ee.   Maybe someone will let her know the word is JUE-EL-REE, based on the word JEWEL, not JULE.

Well Alyssa got a lot closer than the QVC Program host who says JEW-ree. Alyssa often talks way too fast.

Alyssa's already guaranteed to be on through to 2025, I believe? At least most articles around the time she was hired said this current panel will be locked through the next presidential election.

A contract ties a person to the show, not the show to a person. She could be let go at the end of a 13-week contract cycle.

Sunny's ancestors probably included Spanish colonizers, rapists and dehumanizers as well as their victims. How does she deal with this conflict running through her veins?

By portraying herself as African-American when it suits her, portraying herself as Latina when it suits her, the wife/mother of Haitian-Americans when it suits her, etc...

I don't understand how anyone in the news continues to refer to any President by their last name only.

For abbreviation? Observing the AP Style Guide?

    Quote

According to AP Style, use the first and family name on the first reference to a current or former U.S. president or the president-elect.

    former President Ronald Reagan

    President Barack Obama

    President-elect Barack Obama

On all subsequent references, use only last names.

She also asked Boehner to "extrapolate" on his story about a congressman putting a knife to his throat. I think the word she was searching for was expand.

    expound would work too!

  14. I can't decide if it's Whoopi or The View's producers to blame for that incorrect statement that Law and Order SVU is the longest-running drama series on television. Did they forget that ABC's General Hospital is celebrating its 58th anniversary in two weeks?!

Don’t know where M gets her bad info.  But anything to support a Republican and/or diss a Democrat I guess.

Or a Democratic state. She also stated as fact that California will lose a congressional seat. Although several news outlets (including NBC News' Meet the Press) speculate that California will lose one seat, the U.S. Census Bureau will not have the reapportionment results ready until April 30, 2021!  Nobody knows for sure how the math will work out with the unannounced 2020 Census.

I'm watching it now. So which is it Meghan? Is the View infotainment as you said or news as you said five minutes later?

Meghan was referring to who her bosses at the network are. ABC restructured their programming divisions in fall 2014. The View was no longer part of ABC Daytime with General Hospital and the All My Children replacement and was placed in the ABC News division along with GMA.
