  1. I had to retrain myself to one space after a period. Both APA and MLA require it now.

Like others I wasn't familiar with the Elsbeth character but I do like Columbo so I will give it a shot. Both Stephen Moyer and Carrie Preston seemed to be enjoying themselves and that was fun to watch.

Because it's more of a slow burn set across centuries than a wham bang explosion of action to grab your attention.

Lol. It’s the action scenes that bore me.

The scenes between Prisoner Guy and his husband were genuinely moving. I’ll give the show that.

I feel like it would have had more impact if we had seen any of their back story. I thought the actors brought it but I wasn’t as moved as I would have been if I knew them before.

why does every episode feel like it is 2 hours long?

Just weighing in on the "Siriano Save."  I remember him commenting on "no immunity this season."  Then a designer asked him if there would be a "Siriano Save" and he replied, "absolutely!"  or something else very affirming.

Yeah I think I missed that so I take back what I said.

  5. I cannot get over how far fetched this show is. (Thank you iMonrey). Juliette is too stupid to live. Everyone who has gone over the railing has died. Everyone, but not our Jules. She did not search the wife’s pockets which anyone, sheriff or not, would do. But then we couldn’t have the wife see the video and let her go. And how could she not consider that the hard drive could be traced? If they had shown that she was willing to risk discovery, okay. But no she was surprised. All the cameras going off in the corridors? Just another excuse to not catch her.

There are too many plot holes and people suddenly willing to help Jules who has shown no people skills at all to inspire any kind of loyalty.

I expected tighter plot construction since it was a book first. I agree the acting is good but it is not enough. I will finish the season but doubt I will be back for Season 2. Only if David Oyelowo is in every episode.

  6. Juliette is so unlikeable. She only cares about what she wants and all she wanted was to find out what happened to George. She doesn’t seem curious about anything except as it relates to her quest.
I will keep watching but it is obviously set up for more seasons and this has been a slog. I had high hopes after the first episode but haven’t really been enthusiastic about any of the subsequent episodes.

  7. I am glad my daughter doesn’t watch this show. Gary looked exactly like my son-in-law who died of cancer. I think they have handled Gary’s cancer so realistically and truthfully-Danny not wanting to see Gary, Maggie not wanting to give up and all of the friends reactions. And Gary being so god awful tired. So hard to watch but so well done. And James Roday Rodriguez is the GOAT.

We have Hulu TV for live watching. The DVR through that service should have recorded the show but somehow it didn't (despite recording all last season). I've seen a few Reddit comments that people watching live TV through YouTube TV had the same issue, so I assume it's something NBC has done to try to drive people to pay for Peacock. It was free next day on Peacock last year buy they apparently changed it this season.

I'll have to skip the homework next week. Sorry kids, you're on your own! 😆

I watch on cable and my DVR didn’t pick it up either. I don’t watch much on NBC and don’t want another streaming service. I wanted to see how they introduced the new guy. Did they say what happened to Anthony Anderson’s character?

if my DVR had recorded it all I would fast forward through anything with Benson or Stabler. I quit on L & O SVU very early in its run. And I never watched the OC version.

I am incredibly impressed by Gary's determination to keep his very prodigious full head of hair and beard through chemo.  I presume that it is due to sheer force of will because I don't know any other way that could happen.  Or, maybe the guy who made Maggie's pink wig has branched out and is way more talented than we realized.  There is no IV chemo for metastatic breast cancer that would not cause the hair to fall out, usually with the first round.  The show didn't really delve into it (they reallly don't delve into anythng) but what is happening with Gary is much more serious than what happened with Maggie.  She had a recurrence at the site of the original tumor while his is in his lung, evidence that the cancer cells have spread through his body.  This means he is never going to be 'cured' although many people live years, even decades afterwards. With new targeted treatments including immunotherapy, he could be around to see his kid grow up.

historylover820 mentioned her dad not losing his hair. Remember Jimmy Valvano, Coach V? He didn't lose his hair either. He even shaved his head because he felt guilty when he was getting chemo that he had a full head of hair. Well his hair all grew back.

I feel like the show has abandoned its aspiration to be another This Is Us and has accepted that it is a soap opera. And I like it for that. Of course there is another obstacle for our group to suffer through. As absurd as it is, a lot of times I have preferred A Million Little Things to This Is Us.

You can always make it your finale. Just don't Tune In next Tuesday or the following Tuesday and call it a day.

Nah, I have to see it to the end. Only 2 more to go.

  11. I wish this was the finale.  I don’t want to see Rebecca slowly dying over the next two episodes. I don’t need to see where all the minor characters end up, spouses, greatgrandchildren, etc.

Yes and I wondered why my closed captioning said the song was Cat Stevens song...

I just saw UMAngela's response. That makes sense then.

Anyone else surprise themselves with how loud they yelled at the screen at the big reveal with the photo? To quote me earlier: “WHAT?!!?!?!!” Cannot wait for next week.

Yes! The whole episode blew me away. It will be a long week

My conspiracy mind is wondering if Liv could be the baby that was stolen from the alien tracker dude! When she heard the alien baby's sounds and had that flashback, and then said she wanted to bring tracker dude to Patience, is when my mind produced the theory.

My memory sucks. Can you fill me in on this? I don't remember the alien tracker having a baby stolen. I barely remember the alien tracker to be honest.

With no new episodes for a while I am going to forget this whole mini season. I agree with others that the heart of the show is Harry/Asta and the kids. I like the other characters (I can tolerate Darcy) but I wish I saw less of them unless it is related to Harry.

Eh Darcy, you are starting to sound desperate and losing the funny quality. Leave Ben alone and go back to being funny D.

Darcy belongs in a different program. In another program I would praise how real she is and how sorry I feel for her. Top athlete whose dreams are killed by an injury, stuck in her little hometown and reliving her past hoping for a different outcome. She brings me down. The rest of the show makes me feel good. Even when I feel bad like when poor 42 is killed. Or the sheriff opens up to Deputy Liv. Even those moments don't depress me like Darcy does.

  16. This was my favorite episode of the season. I loved the play and everyone has pointed out my favorite lines. I didn’t mind the opening with the Sheriff’s backstory. And how cute was baby Cletus?! I wasn’t sure about Liza but I was proven wrong. Her interactions with Harry were great. The episode had the tone of Season 1 which is why I liked it so much.

  17. There wasn't anything special about this pilot. There was no hook to draw me in. I might watch one more episode to see if I change my mind but right now I am not hopeful.

I bailed on Blacklist a long time ago and was surprised to hear that it is still on!

Even D'Arcy's "skank" friend knew how she should dress when in a fancy restaurant, she was looking amazing and was well behaved.

I thought that was a completely new woman because Judy, D'Arcy's friend, has blonde hair, right?

The episode was better than last week's but I still prefer Season 1 to this season, at least so far. I agree with others who think the story is meandering too much and there is too much on the secondary characters. And yes Sahar does look much more mature. Always a problem when casting child actors, they grow up during the hiatus.
