  1. I think my biggest concern with moving Riley up is more the social effects as mentioned above. Though I never skipped a grade in school, I did move school systems (turned 5 at end of September right at cut off dates to begin with) and was a whole year younger than my peers by the time I hit middle school. I remember how frustrating it was to have all your peers drive a year before you, have the big milestone birthdays, be allowed to date, etc. Then you factor in the fact all the "missed" milestones for the quints as a whole-graduations, going to college, etc, and how her sisters will interact with her moving forward. There is definitely more to consider than just moving Riley up now, whether they have a repeat K year or not impacts the rest of her educational career until she high graduates high school!
