Dorinda’s Blue Stone Manor is In the newest issue of Architectural Digest magazine. If you aren’t familiar with it, it’s been around for decades and it is a very upscale magazine that showcases the most beautiful homes in the world. In recent years the magazine has started to feature celebrities in an attempt to increase their readership. I find it difficult to grasp the image of a drunk, screaming, nasty, vicious Dorinda fitting in with the image this magazine tries to portray.

Thank you for sharing this.  I would have missed it.  I love Dorinda's house...not because I love all of her decorating choices - I don't - but I do believe that your home should be exactly how you want it to be.  Trends and the style du jour be damned, Dorinda has appointed her home just the way she wants it, and I applaud that.

Kate usually has an ally of sorts that enables her to maintain her Queen Bee position.  This season, the only ones that come close are Cortney who isn't vocal about things and Rhylee who is disliked by the entire deck crew.

Previews even indicate that a charter guest questions her attitude. I think all this is throwing her off a bit.

I like Kate generally, and I know the following is unpopular, but....IMO, Kate is a Queen Bee, judgmental, hypocritical, and holds a double standard.

    • The "bru's" loved Abby so the fact that they dislike Rhylee has nothing to do with gender.
    • The "bru's" do talk about sex with women, but so do Kate and Rhylee - although not in such a vile way.
    • Kate says firing Rhylee is the easy way out for a manager rather than Ashton trying harder to work with her.  The same could be said about Kate and most 1st and 2nd stews in previous seasons, and including Simone this season.  Kate is a horrible mentor and she's insullting to boot.  In addition, sometimes firing someone is the better management decision - which Kate has done herself in the past. Just because Kate likes Rhylee, it doesn't mean Ashton is a bad manager.
    • On the social and managerial front, Ashton gets positive remarks from 3 out of the 4 of his deck crew (Rhylee being the 4th).  Kate rarely gets positive remarks from her interior staff - 50/50 on a good season.

The ONLY two places where Ashton went wrong, IMO, was kissing Kate uninvited, and his level of aggression in the van.  Both are physical and emotional violations that would justifiably cause fear in anyone.  He needs to exercise better self-control and not let others, and himself, get the better of him.  Hopefully he'll learn from this.

I'm not sure I'll watch anymore given the Kate + Captain Lee relationship.  It's a no-win for just about everyone else, and with Kate's hypocrasy and Queen Bee rights, I'm a little over it.

I agree with all of the above.  I was beginning to think I was the only one who saw things this way.

Kate has treated most of her crew as badly or worse (except for the physical stuff) than she was treated this season.  I cry no tears for her.  Maybe it's good for her to see how it feels to be the one "everyone hates."  She did it to Amy, Jenn, Rocky, Bruno, Leon, and, most egregiously, Caroline.  She's a mean bully who, as it turns out, can dish it out but cannot take it.

As for all the Ashton hate, I understand that he acted inappropriately.  I think he would be the first one to agree with that, but I believe he will work hard to change his behavior and never let that happen again.  I don't think he's a bad guy.  He's immaturely competitive when it comes to women.  He was trying to beat Tanner to Kate and was rebuffed, twice.  Now, the truly bad person in that group, imo, is Tanner.  He is gross.  As soon as he got wind that Simone had a crush on him, he took full advantage knowing full well he had absolutely no interest in her.  He took what he could get and then dumped her, keeping his eye on the real "prize" (in his twisted mind), Kate.  Not to mention his jokes about getting "girls" pregnant.  He's repulsive.

And, as for Ryleigh, she may be a hard worker, but I cannot think of any workplace where her kind of attitude and disrespect for authority would be tolerated, period.  I don't think being female even enters into it.  It is easier for someone to do the work themselves than to engage with Ryleigh long enough to get her to do it.  You don't keep a job that way.  I feel for her because that huge chip on her shoulder comes from somewhere and it's probably a sad or infuriating story, but she needs to get it under control or she is going to have very limited success with other people, including bosses and co-workers.  I'm rooting for her.

  3. I don't understand Kathryn's sense of fashion.  Admittedly, she makes many, many fashion/make up/hair mistakes, but then, once in a while, she gets it right and knocks it out of the park.  The first Caroline Day ball, for instance.  Also, last season, when she went to Thomas' house one evening, in that cream cape and khaki slim-fit pants, she looked like a million bucks.  I thought she looked amazing at the polo match last season as well.  I think, if she would just stop trying so hard, she would be stunning.  Her obvious insecurity and self-consciousness, though, will probably keep that from happening for some time yet.

Just Shep's face looked so bad! That drinking really takes a toll on your looks. He looks about 10 years older than his actual age.

Love how Cameran cruises around in her hugely expensive Mercedes and Naomi in her Porsche. I suppose Cameran makes more now than her anesthesiologist husband. If it is to be believed, I read that she and Shep are making $450k this season. Big raises for them. Between that and all of her ads/endorsements on Instagram, Cam is raking it in. Pretty good for no college education.

And it's so ironic, because, in the eternal words of Rachael Green (tm Friends), they both "lift right out."  Neither of them have any real entanglements or interesting relationships with the rest of the cast.  Shep is just sad to watch, and I am way over all Cameron's judgment of others and endless whining about her own cushy, perfect life.  For all she's gone through, Kathryn should be the highest paid member of that cast.  She is the star of this show, for better or for worse.

  5. In the very last moments of the show, after Kathryn delivers here fantastic line about her coat tails being about worn out and walks away, Eliza says something like, "Okay then," to Whitney and then winks.  Did anyone else see that?  She winks with her left eye, so you don't catch it right away, but if you didn't see it, look for it next time.

I was starting to soften toward Whitney a bit, but now my guard is back up.  Looks like he's EPing hard again, lining Eliza up to be the next one to go at Kathryn.

I am really excited about this season!  I feel like the producers are scrambling, because they lost Thomas (big loss!), so they are overcompensating, and I am living for it.

I hated Ashley so much last season, but I thought she performed extremely well under pressure at the reunion, and everyone is crystal clear that she's the villain, so...I am a little excited to see her back.  I would never want her in my life, because she sucks as a person, but she makes for good reality TV, so...

On the other hand, Eliza was so thirsty last night (mad shade to Patricia for even inviting her), and I was so happy to see her burned (!) by Kathryn.  It was perfect.  Eliza was begging for a confrontation with Kathryn, and for Kathryn to basically be like, "well, I didn't even know you lived here, and my coat tails are worn out," was so good.  I wish Kathryn could have been that cool last year against Ashley.  I guess she'll have another chance!

I like the fact that there are a lot of characters on this show.  It means there is always something going on.

I am not a huge Cameran fan.  I think she gets way too much of a pass, and she acts like her underarms don't get odiferous.  She has gotten way too good of an edit since season one, so I take her with a grain of salt.  Not much to see there.

It is pretty transparent to me that everyone on the cast realized that Craig is, if not a fan favorite, someone who has staying power, and suddenly no one is being mean to him.  It's like...maybe you guys shouldn't have been mean to him in the first place.  He always minded his business and never hurt anyone.  His biggest offenses were that he sewed and didn't want to work as a lawyer, despite passing the bar.  If that is the biggest issue a person presents, consider yourself blessed.

I kind of agree with Craig that Naomie's feelings for him remain...unresolved.  I think it is going to fan her flames to see that he really doesn't give a fuck.  I think he cares for her as a person, but I believe Craig when he said he got over Naomie in the Bahamas.  I think she's lying to herself just a wee bit.

The new BF Medul seems like...he doesn't suffer from low self-esteem.

I'm a little bored with Danni.  She never brings anything new to the show, and her smile grates, so I am not concerned with her.

Chelsea is still boring, but she's not offensive.  OMG, she got skinny though!  She has always been fit and slim, but she has whittled herself down to nothing.  I don't think she looks bad though.  I want to find out more about her relationship, but that's about it.  Not super interested in the new house.  It seems like they all have new homes, and few are very impressive.

My dislike for Shep just keeps growing exponentially.  Cameran was right when she said that Shep was using a double standard for Austen and Madison.  I watched WWHL this morning and Madison was in the audience, and it came out that when Austen cheated and had his threesome, it was during a full-blown relationship, but when Madison "had her indiscretion," it was when Austen and Madison were broken up!  So...Shep you are even more of a hypocritical asshole.  Go take a shave and do something useful for once.

I am certainly not Team Madison by any means.  She seems shady.  But Shep is the worst!  He has become so physically ugly to me ever since he decided a long, long time ago that it was his mission decreed from God to bully Craig and make his life miserable, because Craig didn't fall into the line of a working stiff plebeian that Shep thought was the station in life for anyone without "mailbox money."  What an asshole.

Austen?  Even with the "scandal"?  Still not a motherfucking factor.

Is it bad that I'm shipping Kathryn and Whitney?  I think they deserve each other, but apparently she's in a relationship with a country music singer.

That was a really fun first episode.  Not slow at all.  As far as Patricia's party, the food looked delicious and everything, but...what kind of host doesn't realize that one of her guests is kneeling/sitting on the floor during cocktail hour (Craig) and that other people are sharing chairs, and doesn't offer additional seating?  Also, I caught Elizaand Cameran texting at the table (separately; not with each other) and that is some rude shit that doesn't fly with me.  (I didn't see phones, but if they weren't texting, then they were staring intently at their thumbs while darting their eyes around.  If that is the case, may I suggest a neurologist?)

Agree and co-sign to ALL this.  I'm especially excited to see that we share the same thoughts re Craig & Naomi.  I think Craig is being honest about getting over Naomi and is right that Naomi is still not squared away.  I thought that was kind of obvious at Shep's bbq last season and has continued from there.  I think Naomi got so ugly with Craig that he got to a place of resentment and true dislike toward her.  That lent to Craig getting over Naomi easier than Naomi got over Craig.  Once Craig got away from Naomi, I think Naomi realized that Craig is kind, true, and attractive to other women - things she managed to forget while they were together.  Therefore, Naomi has a lot more unresolved feelings for Craig than Craig does for Naomi.  Looks to me like Smug, Belittling Naomi may be in for some karma because Metul seems pretty quick with put-downs for Naomi.

I also agree whole-heartedly about Shep.  Shep is deteriorating into a bitter, beer-bellied man-child who is so embarrassingly insecure about and jealous of Craig it is ugly to behold.  Sure, Craig may be quirky in his unabashed love of sewing, but at least he is true to himself and secure enough in himself to share that.  What has Shep done, tried, or created while on this show?  His life is a'shambles, and he knows it.

      Reveal spoiler

On WWHL, Austen's girlfriend said that her "dalliance" happened after she broke up with Austen over his cheating.  So, she didn't really cheat, but she did admit to sleeping with someone, probably just to piss him off.  Either way, it's a toxic relationship all the way around.  I remember seeing that video of Austen in his underwear, several months ago, and thinking what a loser.  She went back to him after that, so it's a tox-combo.

^^ Just edited to put the above as a spoiler from WWHL last night, in case others didn't see it.

I'll be a Party of One and say that I thought Patricia looked amazing last night, as did Katherine, although I didn't love Katherine's lime green dress.  Patricia has the most beautiful hair, which I'm sure has been "enhanced".  And yes, she's had work done, but at least she can move her face, lol.  I liked Katherine's makeup, hair, and overall demeanor, but I, too, noticed the fidgeting.  I think it's probably nerves.

I agree.  And I think that Kathryn was uncomfortable in her dress and that was why she kept fidgeting.  She seemed self-conscious about how she was supposed to sit, how much leg to show, etc.  I think the dress was a poor choice.  She was obviously uncomfortable.

Doritos indignation! Un-truthity-truths!!!! She so planted that story, or maybe her money grubbing husband did.

I could believe this because Dorit still does not seem to really believe she did anything wrong... So I could see her selling the story thinking she was playing her part in the LVP takedown because that's what the biddies keep telling her. Dorit is no mental giant.

Then again, I can't shake the feeling it was Rinna.

Agreeing with all this, but I would like to nominate Kathryn Edwards to return, also. She stuck up for LVP and bugged the crap out of Erika - a two-fer!  She was blunt and tough, something sorely needed in this cast.

I find Camille to be kind of an enigma. I love Camille 2.0. She's her own woman with no inherent ax to grind. She seems to dip in and out of the HW drama as she pleases without getting too mired down in it. I am always struck by Camille's body language, too. When she hugs someone, she closes her eyes and really draws them close. That suggests genuineness to me. The body language in this photo is clear, too.

But, wow, I can't totally dismiss or forget season 1 Camille. She was one haughty, mean bitch.

This is why I will never understand why they don't bring her on as a full time HW. She must be resistant to it, herself . Too bad. I would love to see her back.

Did anyone else think the way John greeted Dorinda at the party seemed strange?  It didn't feel like someone addressing someone with whom they had a close personal connection.  It seemed like he was greeting a social acquaintance whom he had just run into after a long time.  I thought it was weird.

For his sake, I hope so. I know John is not everyone's cup of tea, but everyone deserves respect from the person they're in a relationship with. She treats him like a dog and, in that regard, I feel bad for him.

  13. I happen to think LVP is truly a beauty.  I will say that she reads a little older than she really is, but, honestly that is a trade I would be willing to make.

Honestly, most of the cast are very attractive with the exception of Rinna, who I think has a very harsh look that she has worsened with her choice of enhancements, and Teddi who, imo, is quite average looking.

Erika has a great face for makeup and made up properly she can be a knockout.

Kyle is very attractive but better stop with the enhancements now because she is teetering on the edge.

Dorit... I can't be objective anymore because she is a soulless puppy dumper, but I used to think she was pretty.

All that said, if I had my pick of who to look like, I would choose LVP.  I just think she has a gorgeous face.

  14. I can understand why Kyle's sisters wouldn't want a show like that to be made whether it's intended to be kind, flattering, "inspired by," or whatever else. It just makes their childhood, upbringing, family, etc. fodder for debate, curiosity, and criticism. I know I wouldn't like my family being brought to the American market for entertainment. Maybe they couldn't stop Kyle, but they didn't have to like it.

It’s amazing that the Lisa Vanderpump hate is so strong that people have to jump to the defense of Teddi Melonheads idiot brother. A lot of rain has fallen on that Scarecrow and his brain is mush. I have no doubt that they bribed his way into Duke.

Plus being a bus boy at SUR means you are an idiot by definition. Witness James Kennedy, his freakishly ugly brother and Max the child that made Lisa start adopting dogs by the dozen instead of more children.

Um, ouch. I was with you until that comment about Max.

  16. Agreed, NeuroChick, and I wish that went for the rest of the cast as well. I'm just saying that I think, in LVP's state of mind, this was real life for her, this really is how she handled it. She told Bravo she wasn't into it this year and asked for this year off. They denied her that, and now we're seeing the results... LVP is not up to it, and these bitches sense it and have moved in for the kill. That's what makes this season so hard to watch, at least for me.

I was very pro-Teddi last year because she was constantly being dogged by one of the most despicable, lying, victim-card-playing cast members to have curse us with her presence - Dorit. It was pretty much why I was so pro-Erika during the pantygate season as well. Dorit does something I really can't stand - she does something bad to someone else and then turns everyone against that person and makes herself the victim. She does it. EVERY. TIME. You'd think Teddi Accountability Mellencamp would notice something like that.

I gotta say, I fell for that in Dorit's first season. I felt bad for her re: pantygate. In my defense, I couldn't shake the fact that Kyle encouraged her ("Oh please do it when I'm there so I can see her reaction!") and I recoil when Erika gets confrontational with anyone because I can't stand her.  You're absolutely right, though, and you spotted it much quicker than I did.

And there goes simpleton Kyle again. Just because her show got canceled, it doesn't negate the fact that Kyle traded on their family's memories and secrets in order to cash in. I can't believe Kyle thinks this should all be okay with her sisters now simply because she failed with her show.

Does anyone know if that other series of hers (Glass Houses?) is still going forward?

What I find ironic is that the things LVP has been alleged to have manipulated cast mates into doing or saying (aside from Brandi and the magazines, which never actually happened anyway) have all been generally well received by the audience. It is the blaming of the actions on LVP's manipulations that have made these housewives extremely unpopular with the audience. Camille calling Taylor out for the abuse allegations was looked upon favorably at the time. Camille's newfound popularity that season was not tarnished in any way and most people lauded her for it. Had she tried to blame her actions on LVP (or if the editors had left that in), she would probably have been the most hated housewife for the second year in a row.

The audience was also generally happy with Lisa Rinna for calling Yolanda's fake or exaggerated illness out. Most of us believe that Yolanda was feigning her illness and symptoms, or causing her symptoms (Munchausens), or thought her illness was psychosomatic. Rinna just said what most of us were thinking and saying, and it was a relief that one of Yolanda's cast mates had said it out loud. It wasn't until Rinna blamed LVP for the comment that she drew the audience's hatred.

The audience wouldn't have blamed Teddy one bit for bringing up Dorit and the dog situation on camera either. Most of us still don't care that she outed Dorit. What Dorit did was horrible and she deserves to be publicly shamed because she has shown no remorse and acts like the victim. She keeps defending her actions and acts as though there was nothing wrong with what she did. If Teddy had owned her behavior and not tried to claim manipulation she would probably be more popular this season than she was last season.

This is exactly right and something that has always confounded me, too. The criticism of this particular incarnation of RHs is that they are overly image conscious. I think your examples above prove that. They downright over think it and sabotage themselves over it.

  20. Imagine that dastardly LVP, going out for dinner with the new castmate. Tsk tsk. C'mon now.

I still remember Brandi's entry to the show. The Richards sisters attacked her at game night. Brandi got fed up and fought back.  Next thing you know, Brandi is persona non grata courtesy of the lovely Vyle Kyle. LVP wasn't at game night, but she took Kyle's word for everything and told Brandi that she needed to apologize. Only later did LVP get the full picture of what went on at game night. LVP never made that mistake again. After that, she makes up her own mind about people, much to Kyle's chagrin.  The way I have seen it, LVP always gives the new girls a chance.

Teddi’s texts proof are full of shit.

    1st text. 7:45p. No date.  78% power.  Starts mid-conversation.

B (blizzard). Because Ken is calling me now

    B  About it

    T (Teddi)  lol. Don’t worry.

    T. What is he saying

B  he’s just like before you tell  Teddi and Kyle.....I’m just going to try and control the situation

B Because PK has been his best friend for 40 years

    B So like uhhhh

B he’s just figuring out best way to do this because of like filming and relationships

B Because like obviously it’s going to get out

T If pk was his bestie, He would have told him....

It seems to me that this convo took place soon after everyone found out about the dog.  It’s hard to get the whole picture since the texts above are hidden, but it appears that Ken calls Blizzard directly interrupting the convo and then Blizzard gets back to Teddi via voice to text.  Ken is basically saying that because everyone involved knows each other and that filming is due to start at vpd in a couple of days, and we know from his own admission that Sessa was hopping mad and determined to get the story out, that Ken wanted to do his best to control the situation from getting out of hand.  This lines up with everything lvp and Sessa have said.  After all,  Ken has been around the block a few times on this show and knows how the producers can manipulate things.

Teddi’s 2nd text screen.  93% power.  No date on first convo.

    B so many mixed messages

B I just hate this and I’m ready to go home hahaha

B I think  he’s not as mad as he could be...just because Lisa kept being like She didn’t want it to end up there blah blah blah

B And then we went upstairs we had a whole sep convo and idk

This text convo took place before the filming and I think the “he” being referred to is Sessa unless Ken took himself over to the office.  Either way the message is that people are calming down over the matter because Lisa doesn’t want it to be a big thing.

Last text convo.  Thurs. Aug 2 2:12p

T I am tired after this morning.

    B Me too

    B With Lisa now

B And we are like dead

B Pandora: “you were there???  What happened?”

    B I was like.... I can’t even describe

This text convo took place after filming and Lisa is majorly pissed off at what took place.  Pandora wants to know what the he’ll happened.  Again, all these texts show is exactly what lvp has been saying all along.  She wanted everyone to drop the story and not make a big stinking deal about it on camera.

Either Teddi has been trying to hide her real involvement or she is a great big boob and has been completely misunderstanding her text conversations.

Thanks for this. I have stopped watching the show, but of course I am here for the comments. I agree completely with your reading of the situation and have thought this all along. It's just getting maddening how twisted and tortured this whole thing has gotten.

And, as far as the scene with Camille confronting Taylor way back when, LVP is right there with her, adding to her comments. I don't see all this stealthy duplicity. She agreed with Camille and she backed her up.... While Kyle sat there deciding which side to play, again.
