Unless they are in the same room, Debra already isn't able to"track her"--and even if she were, what is Debra able to do do to protect her that Terra, the adult, couldn't do herself?
We don't know what--or if--she'd be drinking or whatever. And if it's like Coachella, then, like I said, good luck to DJ in even finding her among the 12 bazillion people there.
They are adults! And, no, as dumb as she was, she did not "invite" this into her life. Ugh.
They may have been adults but, a mother's instinct is to protect her children - no matter how old they are.

To me he looks and sounds like Corey Feldman.
Oh nooooo! Now I'm going to see Corey Feldman every time I look at him and I don't want to! Never, ever would I have made that comparison but, I can kind of see it now that you have brought it to my attention. Well, you've ruined Eric Bana for me...thanks a lot!

It was so he could watch Debra's every move.
That's what I thought but, I wasn't sure. I couldn't figure out any other reason for it.

I'm still confused as to why he had that druggie girl go to the house and put on Debra's clothes. Was it a reason to have all the security cameras installed?

I'm sorry but I don't give her props at all. First of all, I assume she's getting paid a nice sum of money. Second, she's hoping she comes off as a victim, and even some sort of heroine for alerting women to the Dirty Johns of the world.
That's true. I was trying to be a little nice since I kind of feel like I'm victim bashing but, nevermind! Also, she's probably too much of a self absorbed nitwit to see how she's looking to everyone. Probably does see herself as a heroine.

She's lived through the murder of her own sister by a controlling abuser. She may have had a mostly privileged life, but she can't be THAT sheltered or innocent. Her baby whispery voice and the wide eyes & perpetual flummoxed, "Bambi on ice for the first time" facial expressions when confronted with basic info just pushes me over the edge. Her daughters have more street smarts, but they have the same baby chipmunk caught in a trap manner of
squeakingspeaking.I think at the time this was happening that Debra was about 59, which makes the baby voice and giggling even that much worse. The vocal fry with the daughters is bad but, I just can't with a woman that age doing the little girly giggles.
I do have to give her props tho, for putting herself out there with this. She had to know she would come out looking like a desperate, self absorbed nitwit.

And was now blackmailing the Al-Anon leader to keep getting clean pee or he'd send the photos to everyone. Is that right?
I don't know. I thought he had slept with the leader. Didn't he say something like "he didn't usually like having sex with guys."

I’m not attracted to pics of the real John, but Eric Bana is cute.
I think Eric Bana is pretty easy on the eyes as well. The real John, not so much. He must have been a real charmer is all I can think of.

Well, I've been a long time lurker and this TV show is the one that has made me register to comment!
I seriously can't get over Debra, nor am I able to drum up any sympathy for her at all. When John said something to the effect early in their relationship that he could take out her daughter (I forget which one he was speaking about) at 1000 yards, that's when I would have shown him the door. When she said in the podcast that she just thought he was kidding and she giggled, I was thinking WTH. That's not something you joke about - not about my kids anyway. I can't imagine any decent mother that would have stood for that.
I could barely get thru the podcast when Debra was speaking. That giggling was more than I could take. This is not a funny story you're telling lady.

S01.E08: This Young Woman Fought Like Hell
in Dirty John
Yep. That's what did it for me and the way she giggled on the podcast when she talked about it. I would have shown him the door so fast his head would be spinning. That pretty much told me all I needed to know about Debra.
