  1. Last night I watched the More to Love version of this episode (well, fast-forwarded through all the old stuff and watched the bonus scenes).

There is a big discussion about the term "gaslighting." Christine really doesn't know what it means, and kind of shuts down whenever she hears it being thrown around (you and me both, girl - for different reasons).

Savannah and Gwendolyn - who both want to be psychiatrists in the future (revealed in a previous bonus scene) - attempt to explain it to her. I will give Savannah a pass on this one because she is still in high school, and I think her definition of gaslighting is what most teens probably think. Gwen though, being in college and on her way to becoming Dr. Gwendolyn Night Hawk (a whole other discussion in the previous bonus scene 🙄), almost seems to have a worse understanding.

Savannah says something along the lines of, "If I went to Gwen and told her that what she did really hurt my feelings, and Gwendolyn says 'it's your fault for getting your feelings hurt, not my fault for hurting them.' That's gaslighting" And Gwendolyn states that it's like someone saying, "you're gaslighting me," and the other person says there is no such thing as gaslighting... well, that is gaslighting. 🤦‍♀️

At the beginning of all this, Gabe starts to talk at the same time as Savannah, but Christine cuts him off and says she wants to hear Savannah's explanation. From the few words that Gabe got out, it sounds like he knew the true definition. Christine should have just let him talk - he is, Christine admits, the smartest of them all (also in the previous bonus scene).

On another note, Christine made more than a salad bar for dinner! There was also a pot roast and mac & cheese.

Tl;dr. After dinner, they should have a movie night at Garrison's house and watch the 1944 movie, Gaslight.

The order of characters from Michelle’s post:

    “We need to cook. 🧪🧑‍🔬#todd #walterwhite #jessepinkman #saulgoodman #skinnypete”

Nice! I didn't pick up on Skinny Pete in the last photo!

Wonder what the blue substance in the baggies represents?

It is blue crystal meth, Walter White's signature style of meth on Breaking Bad.

  4. They are dressed as characters from the TV show Breaking Bad. Hubby and I have been rewatching it recently, and it never struck me until just now how much Hunter looks like the character Todd (played by Jesse Plemons). I am assuming that is who he is dressed as.

Saw this article about Kim Plath and her new boyfriend. Is this the same guy she had coffee with? She said he was a realtor/friend of the family or is this someone completely different?

That's the guy Isaac/Kim co-purchased an airplane with in last night's episode.

Well, this at least clears up the timing of Christine's relationship. She announced she was starting to online date at the end of January, then a week or so later she was head over heels in love with David. But she says here that they started talking in October. She doesn't mention when they actually met in person, but at least the jump from saying she's dating to being in a relationship in a matter of less than 2 weeks doesn't seem as strange.

It is also interesting that Janelle says she has "separated from (her) partner" when talking about Kody, while Christine straight-up loves to use the term "divorced". Perhaps psychologically it validates her "marriage" to Kody?

Anyway, nice interview. I like Janelle and Christine's relationship and how supportive they are of each other. I love that Christine said she would have supported Janelle either way, whether she had stayed with Kody or not.  But "on the inside..." glad that Janelle came to her senses. 😅

  7. At the end of this episode, I totally envisioned a balloon flying around as it deflated, landing in pile of poop. What an unsatisfactory ending to this crapfest.

I didn't have the ability to rewind and rewatch anything, so please jump in and correct me if I missed something. But did Meri not say that she was about to address the fact that Kodi has been treating her the same way that he is accusing Christine of treating him? Cut to commercial. Back to the show. And then... *insert balloon deflating* Nothing?

Janelle all riled up and leaving the conversation after Kody yells at her as per the thousands of commercials leading up to this episode. And then... *insert balloon deflating* she turns around and sits back down. (And then SHE tells Kody "it's ok").

But I do love Janelle gettin' rilly rill about Robyn doing the fake confused face.

P.s. We did see a great glimpse of Sobyn, The KoDouche Whisperer when SHE explains to HIM how his strained relationship with the kids is magnified by the divorce.

It isn't a casita because there is no house built on the property. A casita is a Spanish word for a separate guest house. It is a garage apartment. I don't know why she doesn't call it this.

IIRC, I thought I remembered Janelle mentioning in an earlier episode this season that her plan was to build a garage on her property first, then when she has more funds, she would build an actual house. So eventually, it will be a casita... sort of?

Does anyone else remember her talking about this plan, or am I making it all up (a la KoDouche and Sobyn)?

I believe, from the pics I’ve seen, that everyone from the Brown family was there except for Mykelti, Tony, & Maddie’s husband.

Kody sat with Robyn in the 2nd row, Janelle sat with her kids on the first row, opposite side.

Michelle has posted a lot of pics on her IG.

There is a picture of Maddie and Caleb at the wedding over in the Maddie thread.

I have a small but very important correction to my recap of this episode....I thought Kody said he'd gotten his information about the state of Utah taking Truely away from Christine unless she agreed to a custody arrangement from the "nanosphere."  What he actually said was "manosphere" and a quick Google search of that particular term has me even more enraged than I was when I thought he was saying he'd basically pulled the information out of his ass.

It's incredible how Kody Brown manages to top my seething hatred of him with each passing day.

I thought I heard him say "manosphere", but I didn't know there was such a word, so when I read your excellent recap with "nanosphere" in it, I thought I must have heard wrong.  There is no bottom to the pit of his vileness.

Yeah…it could be about money or control…decision making authority, etc.  I took a look at the AZ and Utah child support guidelines.  The number of overnights may impact the support obligation.  So, if they use AZ law, a true 50/50 physical custody arrangement might mean no child support paid to either party, IF the incomes are about the same, but he could be obligated to pay her something if his income is  more. The number of other children he supports comes into play as well.  The wives have never complained on camera about not getting child support, so I’m not clear how they work that out.  No doubt, they would want a private agreement on money matters and stay away from the court and child support enforcement, who will want to see lots of financial records from both parties.

Christine seems to doing moderately well running her various MLM scams businesses. Could it be that she is actually now earning more than KoDouche? Maybe he is hoping that with 50/50 custody she would be forced to pay him.

I am surprised at how angry Meri was with Christine for leaving.  I don’t believe for a second that it has anything to do with losing her, but rather because Christine has done what Meri didn’t have the courage to do.  It’s no secret that Meri has been miserable for years.  However, for whatever reason, she has convinced herself that she belongs with Kody, even if she must settle for crumbs.  Christine on the other hand has refused to settle.  She left quietly and easily with dignity and class.  I believe Meri is angry Christine left because now, she has to face all the lies and delusions she told herself as to why she needs to stay.

I was also struck by Meri's anger.  Don't they need 4 wives to get into the upper echelon of whatever planet to which they subscribe? Maybe Meri is angry because she has stuck it out with the Kodester so that they could all get there, and now Christine is ruining it by leaving.

  12. My husband and I bought Bean Boozled once when our niece and nephew visited. They were ages 10 and 12 at the time and we had a lot of fun with it. The premise is that there are beans in those disgusting flavors and beans that are regular, tasty flavors that look exactly the same. You spin the wheel to decide which colour of bean you have to try. You could end up with the normal one or the disgusting one, which I can confirm tested our gag reflexes.

I saw on Reddit an ad that claims there will be a Tell-Nothing on Jan. 30.  I wonder?  It didn't seem to indicate that on the TLC description I saw earlier.  Is it the series finale?

I just watched the latest episode on Discovery+ and at the end there is a preview for next week's episode. It is indeed a tell-nothing.

I'm on Match and Bumble, and make a point of using unfiltered photos in my profile. It's so obvious when filters are used - guys do it too.

Since we can't date in person, I always ask if we could FaceTime or Zoom after the first couple phone calls.  That tends to weed out the guys who are filtering or using old photos because they'll make excuses for why they can't - even if I suggest we schedule a time/date (I say "it'll give me an excuse to dress up and put on some lipstick and mascara!"). I've been on and off dating sites since 2013 and there are guys on there who use the SAME photos they used 6-7 years ago. Yikes!

Lol... Mr. Juicyfruit and I met on a dating site 14 years ago. Every once in a while we will look at the site again together for kicks and there are people using the same pics from even back then! A few of them are people we knew from high school days (we both grew up in the same town but went to different schools). It's crazy what people will try to get away with. Good luck out there!

  15. This freakin' show....

So, it probably wasn't ideal that i was already 3/4 of the way into a bottle of wine before i even started watching.

Ed an RM: I didn't even realize they were not a part of this episode until they were shown on the preview for next week.

Lisa and Usman: Usman's Mom knows what's up. Cheers to her for still not giving in.

Varya and Geoff: It seemed life a whole lot of fakery going on. Varya's mom could hardly keep a straight face while delivering her lines.

Steff and Erika: blah blah blah, who cares.

Ave and Ash: Ash is smarmy, that is all.

Darce and Stace: I was just trying to figure out which twin had the most legit crying face after all the botox.

    Yolanda: Really?

David and Lana: First of all, lady at the restaurant was the highlight of the show.  Kudos to her for keeping the roses and her commentary on all the lonely men being stood up by their Ukrainian girlfriends.  But they got me with the cliffhanger of him actually ringing the bell at Lana's "apartment". I think next week the person who answers will totally be all, "Lana who? Never heard of her...

Now i must take some ibuprofen to prevent a hangover tomorrow...

It could be an outlet bag. You can sometimes get some really good deals at the end of season plus a good Rakuten cash back.

I've also seen MK bags at our Winners (US TJ Maxx) and Marshalls.

Maybe it's fake or someone gave it to her as a gift.

Even if it is meant to be a fake MK bag, it is a bad fake. The letters spelling out the name on the front of the bag were visibly connected. On a real MK bag, the letters are individually attached. The bags at Winners/TJ Maxx and outlets may be cast offs, but they are still authentic.
