Not to get too off-topic even though they did discuss this on the show, but I...kinda think the death threats thing is bullshit. I think Trump made that comment about how we used to deal with spies and then it became this story of people threatening the whistleblower’s life. I think it’s a smoke screen to keep the attention off the whistleblower and the Intelligence community and the report that they changed whistleblower protocol to allow secondhand reports the same month this was reported. And the lingering question of the whistleblower leaked to members of the House, i.e. Adam Schiff, before the report came out.
The idea that the protocol for whistleblower reports was changed recently has been proven to be be completely false. The idea was spread by MM dear hubby's The Federalist.
If I knew how to put this in the Small Talk thread I would. Sorry.

I dont see that either, Meghan has a lot of time to speak, that what this thread has been about. .Anyway they are on holidays soon, so it will b a good break for them all. I had to laugh Friday, Joy has been saying imachech for two very long years, Friday she said forget about Impeachment, that was good for a giggle. I wish Whoopie had been there, love me some Whoopie
The reason that she said she has changed her mind re impeachment is because after hearing Mueller testify to the number of illegal acts Trump and his cronies have done, she'd rather see him prosecuted for these things AFTER he leaves office, like a regular citizen, rather than go through the hopeless impeachment process. There are a lot of folks who feel this way due to the fact McConnell and the Senate will never convict him of anything.

So watching the show today I came to a realization. MM is trying to be the new Nancy Grace. When she was questioning Adam Schiff re yesterday's hearings, she had the exact same stern look and fake intensity that Nancy Grace has. She also interrupted Rep. Schiff (the same way Nancy rudely does) while he was answering her question to ask him another one. She kept going for the "gotcha" question and for the hundredth time failed miserably.

They went through horrific situations and they never want other people to feel even a smidgen of what they have felt in their life because they know what it is to suffer. People like Meghan use their suffering against others. This is a sign of a fault in their own personalities, not something excused by their suffering.
This a thousand times Suziesioux. Maybe a million times. I could not figure out why I've turned into such a hard-hearted person when it comes MM and others of late. Your comment will save me thousands in therapy bills. Thank you.

But I have to confess that I have difficulty mustering up sympathy for someone who only has sympathy for herself or for people who go through the EXACT same thing that she has gone through.
But only if they are Republicans!

Maybe they haven't noticed she's gone.

Meghan made the segment about Kelly Ann's comments all about George Conway! Way to deflect from the actual person who actually asked the reporter the completely rude question. Way to deflect Meghan. None of the hosts called her out on this. She kept on mentioning what George should be doing and how she knows all (I thought that was Clarissa😉) This is driving my blood pressure through the roof. Why do I keep watching?

I do like her hair a lot better. It softens her a bit. ...ensues ducking hah!
I agree--the new, shorter haircut is much more flattering and appropriate for her. There, I've actually had a nice thought about her. I really try, but sometimes its hard

After looking like a box wearing a tiara yesterday, Meghan looks cute today. She also looks like a completely different person. I guess she saw the video of yesterday and realized she looked horrid.
She has such a high opinion of herself she would never think she didn't look "absolutely fabulous" all the time

Oh, I caught that. She's a crafty Toad for sure. Pissed me off. At first I thought that the others should have pointed out the Republicans were MIA. I know why they didn't, it would have turned a very serious subject that everyone cares about into tit for tat. It would have looked petty.
Meghan has no shame.
Crafty Toad! I love that name/description! Thanks!

Look out Wyoming! And Barbara too! Migraine McCain was ready to battle for Wyoming - she *absolutely* has no sense of humour. What an ass.
LOL! Not only did it show she has no sense of humor it showed she is too dense to understand what Barbara Walters was trying to point out--that not everyone cares about the same thing all the time and in the same way. The tragedy of 9/11 was one of those things that everyone in the US was affected by (or should have been).

Exactly..as a for instance, today when they were talking about John Stewart's testimony before an empty congressional panel, she pointed out that Eric Swalwell (a Democrat) wasn't there because "gasp" he was out running for president. He was the only one she singled out for not being there. Here precious Repubs were ALL MIA and not a one of them is running for president. Why single out Swalwell only? Hippocrite. MM that is

Same. I didn't watch but I've heard her bitch about her plight of the lone tortured Republican in NYC before. Never mind that Fox News headquarters is in the middle of NYC.
Brilliant! Thank you for pointing that out!

If MM read the comments on the Fox News article about the Navy hiding the name of the ship John S McCain I don't think she'd be too happy with their viewers response to her comments. They hate her.

Boy is Meghan in a lousy mood. She is just sitting there "looking daggers" (as my departed mother used to say) at the other ladies.

Joy's point about Rep Amash entering the race as a libertarian much like Nader ran in 2000 and being able to affect the outcome was completely lost on Meghan. She said in 2000 a republican won. Yes, because Nader siphoned votes from Gore. Amash would be siphoning votes from Trump, not the democratic nominee. Is she really that dense?
Yes. Yes she is.
Plus, she really doesn't listen to anyone.

This whole idea drives me crazy. My sons (in their 20's now) went to state universities instead of private ones, and worked part time jobs to supplement the cost, plus we paid some, AND they took out loans. They lived at home for a few years after college to get started, and diligently set up and followed plans to pay back what they had borrowed. Each of them were able to pay back their loans in less than 8 years after graduating. Some of their friends took out huge loans for private school tuition, plus living expenses, and are now very far in debt. IF loans are being forgiven, kids like mine get punished for being responsible and planful. They could have gone to more expensive schools, not worked, bought new cars, but they decided to be responsible, which may turn out to be a poor choice.
I hear you Tinkerbell. If I could like this a 1000 times I would. Congrats to your sons--well done!

Telemachus2--I used the "funny" face to like your comment. I really wish there was a funny/sad face rolled into one--lately I'd be using that a lot. I really do like your "blinded by despair"--hope you don't mind if I use it!

I have noticed whenever the topic of having the very rich pay more Abby looks stricken. What's wrong Abby? You afraid your inheritance might be subject to more taxes?
This also applies to MM. She never has anything to say re the very rich paying more.

Not to go tit-for-tat, but this what I meant by my analogy. If you say Nickleback sucks, we can generally agree. If you say every song Nickleback ever put out was garbage, I then have to “defend” them by naming some of their songs that were good. Or go along with your absolute statement.
Meghan has to “defend” Trump because the rest of the panel is one note.
I don't agree that Meghan "has to defend Trump". This is still the United States of America - no one has to defend Trump. If what he is saying/doing is indefensible then you don't side with him. Just because the rest of the panel agrees on something does NOT make them "one note". It makes them of like minds on that issue. It's far too simplistic to say she has to defend him. No one has to do anything in this life--except die and pay taxes!

I love Ana-"I have nothing to apologize for"---that's right Ana. Because you have compassion for those less fortunate than yourself you should apologize? I don't think so Abbey. Both she and MM are uncomfortable today because they are talking about people of wealth having no compassion for those less fortunate. MM saying the Devos's made their fortune through hard work--what a joke. They made their money selling snake oil to poor people who wanted to better their financial situation. MLM is a scam and so is Betsy. And why MM, is it admirable for someone of wealth to go into public service. They don't need the money. It's an ego thing in a lot of cases (not all). It's much more admirable for someone who does not come from means to go into public service. She was just patting her father on the back again.

Less than five minutes in we have cacophony once again used incorrectly. Then we have a reference to the Wizard of OZ --"if you (democrats) want to get to the Emerald City you have to go through OZ". OZ IS the Emerald City. Geez. Why do I do this to myself?

I cannot believe I am saying this. But, I agree Meghan. Good job Queen E. And for once, good job, Meghan.
