  1. My favorite part of the episode was Luke Macfarlane bench-pressing Jean.  They made it look easy.  Such an unexpected bit as she was filling in at the last moment. Deborah can really think on her feet and, if she could capitalize on her first effort, the audience should love her.

  2. This was the second time this season that I recognized voices. I was surprised that none on the panel thought about Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard. Years ago they didn’t key in on Chris Daughtry, either, suggesting American Idol is not on their radar.

  3. I have enjoyed this show and am hoping for its renewal. I’m much older than the group of contestants and often have no clue with the younger artists. But I spotted Cam Newton the minute he was shown in silhouette. No clues needed!

  4. I interpreted the wedding night scene as Charles could not complete the action due to myriad memories depleting his sex drive. He wants to push them aside but he is too damaged to work through the trauma on his own.  Imagine his embarrassment even if there were therapists who would be willing to work with him.

I would love to see a family tree that takes us from the first series to this one.  I remember the Trenchards and their storyline but I have no idea how all the new people are connected (if they are).

  5. Another Will Kemp sighting that you may have missed since it's an older, non-Hallmark movie.  It's Kristin's Christmas Past with Shiri Appleby from 2013. Will plays her love interest. I saw the movie 10 years ago but didn't remember that Will was in it.  The Royal Matchmaker was my first Hallmark exposure to him and, until today, thought it was my first overall.

  6. As I was flipping channels I spotted Jill Wagner in a Christmas movie.  It was Bringing Christmas Home with Paul Greene.  I didn't watch it but lingered long enough to notice the work Jill has had done on her face.   I always thought she possessed a natural beauty but it has disappeared underneath an almost plastic/molded face.  What a shame.

Evidently Hallmark Movies and Mysteries has decided we need to see more murders in Cabot Cove. They've stopped airing Monk at 11 am ET on weekdays and replaced it with another hour of Murder, She Wrote. Blech.

This means I’ll hang tight on Lifetime after watching The Closer to catch the 11:00 Major Crimes.

  8. We've frequently mentioned seeing Hallmark actors in other roles but they are generally on recognizable series.  I have started watching Air Disasters on the Smithsonian Channel (sort of glass over the crashes but home in for the investigation) and it's a veritable smorgasbord of "It's that guy/girl."

Hallmark-related:  Christopher Russell has played a pilot and Benjamin Hollingsworth has played the son of a passenger. Mark Brandon and other Hallmark Dad/CEO-types have portrayed pilots.  I should have kept a tally but . . . .

It's amazing where we find our familiar faces.
