Elizabeth, Philip and Paige try to escape together but the plan ends up a failure. Capture is imminent by the FBI. A diversion must be created, so Philip splits up from Elizabeth and Paige. Philip is captured, and Elizabeth and Paige escape. Elizabeth realizes her cyanide necklace is gone (taken by Philip so he cannot be interrogated and made to betray his country). Philip’s loyalty to his family and his country by taking the final fall to save them are the true ideals of his character. Elizabeth’s realization makes her appreciate Philip’s wishes for Paige’s and Henry’s lives. The FBI has no evidence of Elizabeth, only Philip, so Paige and Henry can live quiet lives in America. Elizabeth returns to the USSR, with no family and no mission. Maybe she meets Mischa.
