Agreed. The obsession with being all “American” echoed the rhetoric of white nationalists, to be honest. 🤔

Here’s a tweet from a New Yorker reporter who attended the funeral that’s getting a lot of attention. Regardless of Meghan’s behavior on The View, I am willing to put that aside for the message she came out with today. The stuff she said today, and the love she showed for her father, is much louder — and will receive much more attention — than the stuff she says on The View. I hope she continues speaking from her heart instead of trying to explain the hearts of others on The View, but regardless, I feel for her this week, and I think she moved a lot of people today.

She’s also getting a lot of negative attention from “conservatives” (I use that term in quotes because they are more “Trumpian” than “John McCain” conservative and unlike Fox News, I’d rather not treat the words “liberal” and “conservative” as scary words). The person who threatened her on Twitter, was posting from a MAGA account. Shes’s also getting pushback from verified “conservative” voices on Twitter. Now that she is becoming a target on social media, in addition to the flag drama, I also wonder if her attitude toward Trump/people who still approve of Trump will change. I imagine she’ll still have her disdain toward “liberals,” but after this can she still keep explaining the MAGA phenomenon? Maybe she can explain it, but can she still keep asking the audience to try to empathize with this sort of normalized indecency? I still feel she was partly playing a role on The View, as her behavior this year was drastically different than the pre-Fox News Meghan, so if she is playing this role, is it one she can keep playing? Anyway, I thought she did a good job today and I respect the McCain family for using a difficult moment like this to demonstrate to the country what decency looks like again.

The funny thing about watching this clip in 2018 is that now Meghan likes to say she grew up in the “Reagan era.” In 1988, Ronald Reagan helped four year old Meghan shape herself into a child republican.

In the same episode Meghan whines that she’s trying to convince America that republicans are “nuanced” and also brags about calling Hillary Clinton “Crooked Hillary.” Gee I wonder if it’s just Roseanne giving people the impression that republicans lack nuance, Meghy.

I also want a thread where we keep a tally of all the guests Whoopi tells “you can come back ANYTIME! COME BACK ANYTIME!” And also a thread that tallies the guests that Whoopi doesn’t say that to — these guests clearly are the ones Whoopi is either bored by or dislikes.

Interesting that Sherri did immediately respond to Meghan on Twitter to clarify her comments, but still Meghan didn’t acknowledge Sherri’s tweets and decided to classify them on air as if “Sherri isn’t a supporter of her fellow women!!!” Oh Meghster. You and your spinning.

Sounds like Meghan. She also tends to block everyone who says anything even disagreeable with her — it doesn’t have to be mean. Search “Meghan mccain blocked” on Twitter and you’ll see many users who have been blocked by Meghan EVERYDAY. Some users even say they didn’t @ Meghan, but she blocked them anyway because she clearly searches her name on Twitter. #ToughChickBehavior

What arrogance to tell Andy Cohen “The View” is a “news show” now and is completely different than it was before. I think Meghan is technically correct that ABC classifies it as a “news” show, but when Sherri was there they were interviewing just as many politicians as they are now. It’s essentially the same format as when Sherri was there - the biggest difference is the cohosts. Meghan’s response really does justify Sherri’s comments that Meghan needs to “lighten up.” Also if Meghan is going to play the “women can’t tell other women to lighten up card,” then she also, as a woman, shouldn’t tell other women like Sherri not to answer a question with their honest opinion. It is kind of funny that Sherri has no problem answering the question so honestly, especially since she was on the show a week ago, and I’m sure she’ll return again a couple more times throughout the year. She has no fear of Meghan. But Sherri was at The View for this infamous segment where Joy was coined a “Christian hater” for laughing and joking with Sherri, so I don’t blame Sherri for her opinion at all.

“ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES LIBERALS!!!” Meghan, do you not see this as a consequence? I thought she didn’t vote for Trump. Eye roll. She loves throwing Joy around as this woman with super far out left wing beliefs. Go home, Arizona. Joy used to have her own show where she’d interview people of all walks of life—the scope of her guests was beyond liberal and conservative politicians. Also, they need to cancel Meghan’s book club picks. We know she doesn’t read. It’s clear she watches cable news nonstop and simply echoes “analysis” she’s heard from right wing pundits on Fox and CNN. None of her thoughts are original.

I’m surprised Meghan “I have gay friends and I wanted gay marriage before Obama” McCain is unconcerned about the SCOTUS marriage ruling under her potential new conservative judge. ...except I’m not surprised.

Her job title keeps changing: political analyst, debater, GLAAD award winner, Mrs. Ben Domenech, the only conservative at the table, etc.

WHOOPI IS ON FIRE TODAY!? Meghan “I’m against murder” said she’s “pro gun” and “pro life” in the same sentence. No, you can be one of those but not both. One of those labels cancels the other out, Meghan.
