  1. Has anyone heard either of their Christmas songs on the radio? We listen to holiday songs during our commute and haven't heard IRL once. The EC video has only 1.4M views after 3 months, and the first Christmas video only 152K views. For perspective, videos trending on youtube typically hit >1M in less than a day. I can't find any IRL songs on any streaming or sales charts. I don't understand the point of FTC if they can't get it any sort of radio play and if they aren't releasing the video. Is IRL at least doing well on Radio Disney? Do many people listen to that? I hope after the holidays there will be a big push for more visible appearances. Also that the boy get a lot of work in so that they have new songs and more polished and comfortable performances.
  2. Wow, you're very observant/have a great memory! And there he is....
  3. It's entirely possible that he did. I can't imagine him in a boy band though - he's got a very mature voice for a teenager. Eta: he wasn't in the top 30 - I found pics and names for all of those. How many boys did they start off with?
  4. Someone put all of Noah's Voice clips into one file for viewing (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FUASCDT6cEayhVklHoYJq0e-iG4XgeMk/view). Our boys must be taking a break - my kid told me that MC was visiting his friends at school today.
  5. Good for the boys - I like Puth, and it helps that they are singing/dancing to a better song than IRL's single. I watched the Voice for the first time this season because of Noah Mac - a really talented soulful young artist who pretty much puts all the boy band contestants to shame.
  6. I've been looping the Noah & Bastille performance - a perfect match. The show did Noah right, all things considered.
  7. I just rewatched Noah's instant save performance and can't help thinking how the lyrics are perfect for someone who *didn't* want to be saved. I mean, I watched that Neon Dreams destruction of an Imagine Dragons song by previous winners? finalists? And couldn't imagine Noah stuck doing that for a year in Vegas or whatever the contract is. I am mildly disappointed to not have more Noah songs next week but not dismayed that he won't be shackled into being a Vegas act. I imagine the kid wants to produce some of his originals and stream them for new fans and see if his TV exposure will help him catch on. I wonder if any indie producers were paying any attention and might reach out to him. Will be interesting to follow Noah for a bit to see if he can make an actual career out of this. Eta: just rewatched Neon Dreams singing "It's Time" - UGH. I am really not this show's demo.
  8. Very dramatic ... and yet the results seemed predictable to me. Hope Noah made enough of an impression to find some opportunities going forward.
  9. This is my first season of TV; I saw a clip of Noah's audition somewhere so started watching. There's no one in the house who can stand country so I have to mute those performances after about 5 seconds. The hub thinks most of the performers are ruining old classics so he mutes most of the other performances after a few seconds. I mute the judges since I find them annoying. So we're really watching only Noah's performances - I don't think we're the target demo for this show! And of course I loved Noah's solo, both live and studio. A bit Imagine Dragons at times which is a plus for us. It looks unlikely that he'll make it to the finale so I hope he finds his way as an indie artist after the show.
  10. Thanks for the links. This is the first time I've seen/heard the full Tattoo. It feels like a song Bieber could have sung - but when he was 16. I say this as the parent of a kid who has enjoyed all incarnations of Bieber, so sounding like a Bieber song is not a diss ... except I think Bieber would have sung it better than our boys. I am still having trouble watching/listening to Brady. He is giving off major poseur vibes for me - not quite verging on parody like Devin, but heading in that direction. Of the three originals, I'm finding FTC most watchable/listenable, and I think that's because Brady is the least jarring in it.
  11. I lack objectivity when it comes to Noah. I enjoyed the live version of the duet and love the studio version; Noah's vocals are gorgeous and Chloe doesn't sound bad either. The arrangement is updated so is more youthful and still haunting. Noah's voice can do plaintive so well - it's so expressive. I am so looking forward to Noah's solo. It's exactly the type of song an 18-year-old should choose - my kid is a bit younger and was listening to it a lot a couple of years ago. Noah's clearly not being strategic about winning, he's using this experience to grow as an artist and performer, and to audition to fans and the industry. I hope he makes it through to next week so we can get a last set of performances from him, and that he draws some interest from an indie label or producer.
  12. I have no objectivity when it comes to EC - I think they look a little more comfortable performing it, but I have no idea. I liked the short snippet of Tattoo - it sounds much less Disney and more like a real pop song. I hope we hear the whole thing soon. Their hug was cute. They need to let down their hair more and embrace their bro-ness - maybe they should have an uninhibited, genuine, joyous pre- or post- performance ritual. Maybe that would make them come across as more fun and a little less too-earnest and stiff.
  13. I've got the show on mute - it's much more tolerable this way. Will bring back the sound when the boys show up - assuming I haven't missed them already. Looks like they are on the second half. Eta: Our boys perform at ~10:10 p.m. They were fine - not any cheesier than anyone else on this massive cheese-fest, but not any less cheesy either. I hope they didn't have a second song because I just couldn't keep it going. I don't know what the demo for this show is. Maybe 5 year olds and their grandmothers? It's just so very Disney. I don't know if IRL gained many new fans tonight. Not because they didn't come across well, but because of the very nature of this show and its audience.
  14. This Disney holiday show is genuinely painful for me to watch. I need the boys to perform soon - not sure I can hang on for much longer.
  15. Thanks for keeping us so well informed! I'm going to try to remember to tune in tonight - looks like a 9-11 pm broadcast? I hope they're on near the beginning!
