I had seen and enjoyed Fredric March in many things, usually when he was an older actor, but this was the first time he became THE FREDRIC MARCH to me. The first is my favorite of the three, and that is due to his heart-breaking character.
I love Fredric March at all stages of his career. He was Vronsky for Garbo's Anna Karenina in 1935 -- if you haven't seen it, you definitely should.

Jagger is a fine source -- for both the British English vernacular & the American rural southern colloquial as used in old blues songs.
I don't know about the British vernacular, but "waiting on" instead of "waiting for" is commonly used in casual speech in Texas: "Just waiting on you, Bro -- hurry up!".

Damn, Automne! If you had a blog, I'd read it. Your experiences sound far more interesting than PW's tedious efforts -- & they're probably even true, because who would make up anything so painful?

I like the commercial for some kind of VW that shows a giant gorilla balloon breaking loose & following the car (driven by a pretty blonde woman) until it's parked near the Empire State Building & the balloon rises up above the building, still gazing upon the car. Good music too -- someone said it's by ELO, something about "it's like magic". I love King Kong & am always glad to see him.

bilgistic, I'm very sorry. I've found that no one loves us the way an animal does, & vice versa (especially cats, in my experience). You were both lucky to have each other, so I hope you can take comfort in your happy memories.

The long version of the Kia hamster escape is my current favorite. And not only because the music is perfect:
"I know I'm gonna lose
and gambling is for fools
but that's the way I like it, Baby,
I don't want to live forever!"
The little girl in the elevator is a nice touch too.

I've learned the hard way to avoid any grocery store on a holiday & on the weekend days leading up to a holiday. It took a long time & a lot of bruising, but I finally did learn the lesson.

Then why not show three couples? Why show the black woman alone?
I don't see being alone as a bad thing.

This morning on the local TV news (in a big city where people ought to know better), an announcer pointed out that bad air quality during the current heat wave is being "exasperated" by smoke from nearby forest fires. No wonder I have a headache.

JTMacc99, was that an Impossible Vegetable Pie by any chance? I make those sometimes when I have a bunch of fresh vegetables that need a good home -- any combination of vegetables & any kind of cheese will do. My mom never made the "impossible pie" recipes because those didn't show up until I was an adult, but she would have loved them because they're quick & easy & versatile.

... And why is it that Mexican men can say poo-poo without damaging their machismo?
Probably the same reason that they can walk Chihuahuas & similar little dogs prancing on leashes, without looking like sissies. It's all in the attitude.

Maybe the same reason those commercials about "Non-24" (a condition limited to blind people) are shown on TV?
