Thanks. I looked but couldn’t see the syringe but assumed it was heroin especially with Lenny’s reaction.

I get that they had to make it obvious it was heroin, but was/is heroin available as a liquid injectable? All my movie knowledge is of heroin in powder form or crystal form that has to be cooked and injected.

Therefore I don’t think that Mei as a medical student would have had an easier time finding the Pill, a highly experimental drug not yet fully approved, considered scandalous and at the time very dangerous. Early formulations of the pill gave women blood clots and strokes and several other life threatening side effects. At this time, birth control was only prescribed to married women and even then the woman and her motives were scrutinized with the prescribing physician deciding whether her reasons were good enough. Had she provided “enough” children”? Did her husband agree to the use of birth control?

Yep. There was an episode of Mad Men (maybe the first episode) where Joan took Peggy to the doctor to get her on the pill. The prescribing doctor said he would take her off it if he felt like she was abusing it (by having sex). And this was from a doctor who generally looked the other way for pay.

Like her or not, you gotta give it to Bertha the way she handled walking into a conversation about her husband being a murderer. . . . Mrs. Morris refusing to acknowledge her husband's personal responsibility . . . a trait of rich white wasps going back for over a century. . . .

Every time Mrs. Morris pulls the self righteous widow act, I laugh. She and her husband meant for the fate that smacked them in the face to befall The Russels. When you dig a grave for your enemy, dig two.

Its weird saying this because all these people are terrible robber barrons. But Mrs. Morris gets on my last nerve.

No, I don't need to hold on, and I am quite clear about the situation. My comment stands, as is. I am old enough to remember even a few years later what that set would have done to a gay man's life.  And she knew that, too, but she's the most self-centered, selfish person currently on TV. There's a reason I started advocating my freshman year of high school for what we then called gay rights. That was in the 70s. She quite literally could have gotten him killed. That's not hyperbole.

We’re supposed to forget that straight black men were getting lynched in the 60s, meaning that Midge outing a gay black man was totes no big deal and she’s the real victim/ doesn’t have a bunch of people dedicating multiple seasons to making sure she suffers little to no consequences for her harmful attention seeking at others expense. Blech! As long as she turns on the waterworks and does a comedy set about revenge, it’s really women’s empowerment we’re watching. Not the genesis of a Karen.

I’m pretty grossed out by this season so far.

The person I watched this episode with gasped and said "That poor man!" when Morris killed himself.

I'm sorry, but "poor man" nothing.  That group set out to mercilessly and mirthfully ruin George and had apparently done it many times in the past to others.  Then, the one time it doesn't work out, he gives up and kills himself.  At least Bertha told George "hey, if we lose, we'll just start again.  We can do it."  Maybe it's a product of being screwed over myself, but I was glad when he got around them.

That being said, though, I do understand why the old money was resisting the new, at least as told in this story.  The Morgans  RUSSELLS (? is that right?  George and Bertha) seem so crass and almost like bullies.  "You will love me OR ELSE!!"  People aren't drawn to that.  Being quiet and less showy would be more impressive to the old money crones, although that doesn't make for as compelling a drama.  But these people are the worst.  All of them, new and old.

ETA:  Russell.  Their name is Russell.  I'll figure it out.

Ageeed, except for the Russels maybe being accepted if they were less showy. Nope. Agnes gave up the plot in the first episode: old money rules, new money drools. There is/was nothing the Russell’s could do to gain acceptance other than just taking it. Old money is bigoted and trying to maintain control and “pure” status. The Russels could lay prostrate before the old money families, and they’d still be laughed at and stepped on. The only thing they can do to get past that is to break their obstacles.

I’m not crying for old money. They’ve likely destroyed many in the same way they tried to destroy George Russell.

I won't go over what's already been said beautifully by everyone else regarding the fact that Rock is a brat and Miranda is dead to me.  What I would like to mention is how annoyed I was with Carrie's decision to dump Big's ashes in Paris (and don't even get me started on that ridiculous dress she just felt the need to wear for the occasion).  They make a point of showing Big's brother and his concern about where Big is going to be interred, etc. and yet no one else was in Paris with Carrie?  Did she even bother to let them know what she was going to do or take their feelings into consideration?  I know if my brother died and my sister-in-law pulled a stunt like that and scattered his ashes in another country without letting us know, I would be furious!  Yes, she's his wife, but there are family members involved here and depending on their feelings, maybe they would have liked to be able to visit a cemetery and pray over the ashes.  I have several friends and family members who have done this.  Maybe it's just me, but I just didn't like what she did with his ashes.

They just decided Big was gonna be this person who wouldn’t have estate planning and burial worked out (Ignore him leaving Natasha $1,000,000). Fits with New Big, a guy who’s suddenly into Yacht Rock, even though we’ve only ever heard him play/sing jazz standards and ballads.

And yes, Carrie is shitty for burying him on another continent right after his brother asked about burying him in the family mausoleum.

Hahaha, the "checking your dad's penis for cancer" line was some quick thinking on Charlotte's part 🤣

As for Che...they was trying to be very clear to Miranda that they is not up to anything "traditional"...meaning Miranda shouldn't expect them to be faithful. I think Miranda got caught up in the moment and didn't realize what she agreed to in that moment. And she won't be okay when Che expects her to accompany them to orgies or threesomes.

I am not clear on how witnessing her neighbor's breakup lead Carrie to have some sort of realization that ultimately resulted in her eating food in that gorgeous dress on her bed. Does this have something to do with being "cool"? Can somebody shed some light on that?

This is Miranda’s “But you’d be going for you” moment reminiscent of Carrie’s plan to move to Paris with Big. She’s just too out of it to see it.

  8. I’m in a delay because my TLC app was acting up, but Ben talking about Mahogany’s love of the Lord and being ok with no sex before marriage while she’s wearing a bikini top is too much.

Also, I’m not surprised a former youth pastor is predatory re: age difference. Those creeps were looking for wives/girlfriends amongst the high school freshman class in my day.

My take on Miranda carries over from SATC where I thought she was always forced to settle because everyone kept hammering at her to sacrifice her needs to accommodate Steve or accommodate a move or whatever. There never seemed to be anyone needing to compromise to Miranda's way of doing things or respecting why she had the needs that she did. It was always her having to change. Which I disliked a lot.

And in the movie, it did bug me that everyone essentially forgave Steve so easily and browbeat Miranda into taking him back. So I see this current situation as Miranda's made sacrifices and compromises for decades and it's all finally taken a toll and this is the nasty eruption as a result. Again, I don't condone cheating in real life, but the grace Steve got in comparison to what Miranda's getting right now -- she was treated as wrong to be hurt and angry when he cheated, and now she's being treated as being wrong for cheating herself, and it does start feeling like she can't win. No, two wrongs don't make a right, etc. However, the path of how she got here looks pretty clear to me, even without factoring in her sexuality.

Genuinely not here to tell people how they feel though. Just feeling sorry for Miranda and how easy it is for her to fall from grace from her own fans.

You make a very good case for Miranda. But then, I never liked Steve. After the first movie where her friends had a non-reaction to Steve’s cheating while acting like Big leaving Carrie T the altar was the worst thing ever, I’ve felt like Miranda needed to ditch this friend group and meet new people.

Carrie pretending like marriage vows are so sacred after the way she treated Natasha (then and now) is so phony.

I still don’t like Che (Sorry to the fabulous Sara Ramirez). Miranda should see other people.

So she and Mama could rent ANOTHER apartment for three months somewhere Bini didn't have any friends! And they could completely browbeat the guy into submission!

Yup. They’re isolating him from friends and family, using the baby as the manipulation. Abuser moves there. Watching these two entitled white women  take an Eithiopian man hostage is giving me plantation vibes. Ari may be the worst person on this entire series.
