  1. Minnick being fired was a highlight. That was the only scene with her that i've liked all season.

I was hoping that the firefighter that Arizona flirted with would make an appearance. She's the first person i thought of when the spinoff was announced. Do you think any of the firefighters shown in this episode will be part of the spinoff? (specifically the woman introduced by Bailey on the stairs)

  2. Monday will be all about Simone. The judges' critiques weren't wrong, but their delivery was a little harsh and they've received quite a bit of backlash from the media/public. Now with Monday's theme, and CAI getting Simone (no coincidence there), it'll end up being her shining moment of the season. It's almost like they tore her down, just to build her up stronger for the final push.

  3. I don't think Simone had a bad attitude at all. It was nice to see something other than robotic peppiness. She has been getting the same comments over and over. It's natural that she's finally sick of it and can't just smile and pretend she's okay.

Normani has set the bar so high, and if the winner was solely based on dancing there would be no doubt in my mind that she'd be the (deserving) winner. That being said, we all know that viewers don't always vote for the best dancer. This is evident by Bonner making it as far as he did, and David still being in the competition.

Normani, Rashad, and Simone are the finalists that this season deserves, but not the ones I suspect we'll get. David will probably pull an upset and knock one of the stronger dancers out. I hope it isn't Normani, but if I were to guess I'd say it's between her and Simone.

If that happens, Idol wouldn't necessarily have to be on Monday nights. When it was on FOX, it used to be on Tues/Wed/Thur.

Dances for Week 8 (copied from Pure):

According to press release, judges picked the trio members for each couple.

Simone and Sasha – Foxtrot (song: “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction)
Trio with Brittany – Paso doble (song: “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers feat. Daya)
    Phone 1-800-868-3412

Bonner and Sharna – Argentine tango (song: “Believer” by Imagine Dragons)
Trio with Britt – Jazz (song: “That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars)
    Phone 1-800-868-3401

Normani and Val – Contemporary (song: “Freedom” by Anthony Hamilton & Elena Boynton)
Trio with Alan – Jive (song: “Feeling Alive” by Earl St. Clair)
    Phone 1-800-868-3410

David and Lindsay – Waltz (song: “Humble and Kind” by Tim McGraw)
Trio with Hayley – Paso doble (song: “Gangsta’s Paradise” by 2WEI)
    Phone 1-800-868-3404

Rashad and Emma – Jive (song: “Shake a Tail Feather” by Blues Brothers)
Trio with Witney – Argentine tango (song: “Dreams” by Gabrielle Aplin & Bastille)
    Phone 1-800-868-3411

i'm assuming that the song chosen by the pros is supposed to represent their partner. in that case, i find Sasha's pick a little boring. he's going to play up Simone's innocence. i don't think it's fake, but it feels very "Laurie" to me. At least she was 16, not a grown woman.

Bonner doesn't deserve such a great trio song. He won't do it justice. At least I'll have 2 good dancers to focus on during this performance.

I'm most looking forward to Normani's Contemporary, and Rashad's AT.

"The biggest challenge for me so far was opening up. I wanted to walk in knowing that I’d be a different person walking out. The show has just taught me to love myself and open up and know that people can also look at you with kind hearts. I think that I’m so used to being judged. Me being a public figure, especially being a woman, people try to tear you down. I was bullied on social media a lot, so I’m very reserved and closed off, and I’m kind of scared to let them in because I don’t know how I’ll be accepted or if I’ll even be accepted so I think that’s what I’ve had to overcome." - Normani

    Oh please share.

lol i doubt you care, and i'm not going to have a back and forth with you just because you're looking for an argument.

Anyways, i don't think Normani is that secure in votes. Not all 5H fans are voting. Some only care about group projects or their fav member.

I knew David was getting a lot of support, but I was amazed at how close in votes he was to Rashad. I see Rashad as the front runner with the viewers so if he can barely beat David, that means David isn't too far behind. He'll probably end up knocking out 1 of the top3 (probably one of the girls).

You wanna talk awkward?  Does anybody know anything about Simone or Normani other than what their pros tell us?  Geez.

you're so defensive. i also found Nancy awkward, which was surprising because she's in her 40's and I thought she'd be used to the spotlight.

and yes i do know things about simone and normani "other than what their pros tell us"

Both David and Bonner have zero entertainment factor for me, so half the show is a wash. But good to see that the general audience lives up to its questionable reputation, I guess: Charming males skate on zero capabilities, talented female contestants get scrutinized and get the boot for "not connecting with the audience".

Exactly. I'm sorry (not really), but a fun personality doesn't distract me from your terrible dancing.

Anything other than a Normani/Rashad/Simone final will be a travesty

  9. Normani is an EXPERIENCED dancer, not a professional one. That fact was never hidden so i'm not sure why it keeps being brought up like you guys cracked the code or something. Anyways, this was her best dance by far and her perfect score was deserved.

Bonner is going to ride Sharna's coattails to the finals and that sucks. david doesn't deserve to be there imo, but at the very least he has a great personality. Bonner has nothing going for him except his partner.

I can't say I'm shocked by Nancy's elimination, but it was sad to see her go.

I like shock eliminations if it isn't someone I like!  Normai or Simone going would be a good shock for me.  Just not Nancy.

i want the best at the end so i'm glad it wasn't Normani or Simone.

sucks for nancy though. i can't believe bonner survived another week. yikes

  11. Nancy is the only contestant with any shot at beating the front runners for the immunity. I think she may be in trouble without it.

I'm hoping there isn't a shock elimination tonight. It's time for Bonner and Nick (or David) to go home.

My gut is telling me that Nancy is in trouble and that it will be either Nick or Bonner booted out with her. Of course, I really hope it's Bonner but I'm emotionally preparing myself for Nick to leave. It's a sad thought considering that both Nick and Nancy are clearly better dancers than Bonner but for some reason I feel like Bonner has a bigger fanbase than Nancy at this point...and Nick has been in jeopardy twice and is at the bottom at the leader board so it's not looking good for him. :(

Normani has also been in jeopardy the last 2 weeks. Rashad and Simone are the only ones that I feel are 100% safe. It's a toss up for the rest.

    Who is CAI's former fiance?
