Josh’s mother was right on target.  Aika is a beautiful woman; why did she wait this long to get married and why did she settle on Josh?

Very difficult for Aika to explain and for Josh's Mother to comprehend that Aika worked for tips and and she provided semi-escort services of companionship to poor Tourist saps.   This was Aika's job, not her college job but her serious job.   Josh's mother (though super decent) did not strike me as a world traveler, someone who has been exposed to different cultures and someone who can understand the very limited opportunities for people (more so to women) in poor countries.   Aika intelligently waited for a guy dumb enough so she could puppeteer him with her fake eyelashes and fake contact lenses.  Aika is a player and a player can wait a long time until she finds the right mark.   Aika accepted that Josh won't give her a baby but she's fine with that because Josh is only one part of her master plan.  Josh is her ticket into the US.  In exactly two years -- once her visa is no longer temporary --  Aika will probably divorce Josh and move on to another "mark", some older dude who will provide for her in exchange of her services and quickly fading beauty.    Yes, Aika is that calculating and yes, she is that smart to see how this charade will play two years down the road.

I won't be surprised if in 5 years, Aika owns her own business and gets rich quickly.

  2. Drogo, is Sharp Entertainment or anyone at TLC aware of these forums and the deeply analytical and insightful conversations that take place?   We have some heavy hitter (very intelligent) contributors here.   I particularly have learned so much about all kinds of subjects.  Truly impressive.  Some of you, I light up when I see your name because I know I'm going to learn something or I'm going to laugh my ass off.  To all posters, thanks for all that and have a wonderful holiday season.

A rare case where -- in terms of content and depth -- the forum is better than the actual show.

What mature couple would want their relationship splayed out on a trashy reality TV show? I have a great relationship but I'm sure with enough tape and needling by producers you could make both of us look like monsters on TV.

I think you are right, but some couples actually care for one another and have actually stayed together.  Think of Matt and Alla

  4. @ Bootleg Snooki (David's Daughter)....if I threw a glass of water at my father the way she did, I'm sure he would kill me, disown me or beat the crap out of me.

To entertain the thought of it is bad enough, much less actually doing it.  On TV.  Dead.  For sure.

WHAT IS THIS SPECIAL EFFECT THAT DAVID HAS ON WOMEN THAT MAKE THEM WANT TO SLEEP WIYH HIM??

    YES, I'm yelling!!

I have always been fascinated by what men want in women and what women want in their men.  These are my observations.   Notice how David falls very short on ALL of them.

1 - $ecurity and Safety.  Be responsible and a (wo)man of your word.

2 - Passionate and Affection.  The way his children addressed him, specially Snooki tells me that he wasn't a very affectionate father and may be harboring unresolved conflicts.

3 - Intelligence, Drive and some Ambition to get things done.   David is not intelligent, he has no drive to improve his life and zero ambition.

4 - Humor and Humility (by the way, David is not humorous.  You may laugh at him because he is a sad clown, but not because of his creativity and wit.   And let's not confuse Humility with being poor.

5 - Healthy lifestyle and Clean.   David doesn't take care of himself and you can see it on his appearance and how he handles himself.   People who get very drunk on a regular basis also do not strike me as care for their health.

I look at these five points and at the sad couples this season features and know for sure most of them will not go ahead with wedding or will fall apart within 12 months.

Jesus, Josh...until you and Aika even try, I think IVF is putting the cart be for the horse.

    I'd get a 2nd opinion

IvF doesn't work until they detox themselves.  People just gather microbes and other bacteria through life, which is why the first person they should see is a reproductive pathologist.  This complicated procedure involves cleansing both male and female.  This is very common in Europe prior to conceiving and greatly reduces miscarriages.   Even if Aika only dated a couple of guys, she is carrying with her, any bacteria they might have passed and it is that bacteria that often causes miscarriages to occur.  I could speak about this for ages, but in essence, they are going about it in the wrong order.

If having children was so important to Aika why the hell did she wait till she's 36 to find someone to marry? She acts like she's never heard of a woman's biological clock before. What the hell was she doing in her twenties? There wasn't a single man in the Philippines (or anywhere else) that wasn't a suitable mate?

For same reason lots of women put that off....waiting for a better choice?   Aika also used her prime years to make some money through escort and "entertaining" bar patrons.   What's sad is that after so many encounters and after other suitors, the best she could do was Josh.

I think this is where TLC and the 15 seconds of fame really messes people off.   Everyone except Andrei is hungry for attention in this season.  And I bet Andrei went ahead with the show only to make some money to defray his "getting started" expenses.

Josh never intended to seriously reversed his vasectomy or have kids with Aika or no one else.  He strikes me as someone who likes his life the way it is and doesn't want to hassle that is having kids.   If Aika is serious about wanting to be a mom, she needs to split.   Josh does not want to play daddy.  Neither does Luis.  and Hazan is playing stepdaddy out of pity to Mae.

  9. Los Angeles is a city in California, which is one of nine "community property" states.   Nikki is fighting for her money.   Chris might have been the one with the money, but maybe she was the brains behind it.   Or maybe she's the one with the wealth, and Chris is the one out there buying properties with her money and multiplying it.    Either way, it's 50% Nikki's money and she's right for fighting for it.   Nikki sees the writing on the wall with David Poor and Annie and she knows how it's going to end.

I also think that Chris owes David a big favor and he's paying for it, over and over.   David is milking that for all he can and Nikki is tired of it.   Annie saw the money train and hopped on it.

Libby chose well because Andrei is the type of guy who will NOT take hand outs from Libby's dad, both short and long term.   He is right in doing so and Libby's father is a jerk for trying to manipulate his family through money.

Sexual dysfunction much, David Spain? I think we now know why Daivd Spain chose an 18 year old fundie virgin. He was hoping to buy some time in avoiding sex for a few years.

I just love how Evelyn has no education, not skills, no life experience and wants to be a home maker - a home maker who can't cook at all and pouts on her bed when her mom asks her to fold laundry with her. That girl brings absolutely nothing to the table. Loretta Lynn was the same way when she got married, but she was 13 and she could sing and write songs. Evelyn has nothing to recommend her.

The dysfunction of that wedding night is going to come when they realize that they forgot to build a relationship before getting married.   In all the wedding planning and in all the apartment seeking and lingerie shopping, they forgot to spend some time together creating intimacy.  Fundie Virgin doesn't know how to fry an egg.  She's been getting away with murder with that big toothy smile and the grace of her parents.

I'll give them 6 months to a year.

I avoided Reality TV for a long time but there's one good thing about this shitshow.   You can see things clear and now verbalize it better next time you see it happening in real life.

Andre and Libby are the least messed up couple this season. Which says a lot for how messed up the other couples are. Andre is starting to grow on me. I like that he is practical and wants to be able to financially contribute as soon as possible. I don't think he's in it just for the green card, although I still question the long-term potential of this couple. He could turn very controlling in the future, or he could be the right person to help Libby grow the hell up and be independent from her family. He doesn't sound like the kind of guy who will jump to take cash handouts from Daddy once they're married. I think Libby's family dislikes that Andre isn't intimidated by them.

And Libby is actually pretty when she's not wearing that horrible red lipstick.

I fear for Molly's children and for Annie. The situations are just so awful. Annie can make a judgment for herself, but Molly's kids are totally helpless in this situation. Where are those children's fathers in all this??

+1 on both points.  Andrei seems like a guy who wants to do the right thing.  He brought savings and talks about getting blue collar jobs.  He is a realist.  Men who like to work get automatic points in my book.   Nothing to do with money, but more the recognition of the importance of work.    Libby is almost normal but still comes up with Primadonna shit such as "let's have a small wedding now and then have a fairy tale 2 years later".   I blame the parents.    Libby is going to run into rude awakenings when Andrei tells her, we are not buying a Lexus, we are buying a 10 year old Toyota.   Libby is spoiled little brat, but I think she has a few good values in her.

Libby's father is either about to have a heart attack or has already started drinking heavily.   I could see that man drinking by himself late at night, either in the kitchen by himself or in his basement man-cave, wondering how did this immigrant thief, this bad hombre, stole his little girl.   He needs to man up and realize that you raise kids as best as you can and then at some point, you let them be.   He thinks he can craddle Libby all the way through adulthood, NOT realizing the ongoing damage he is causing.  Just let them be please.

And to Libby's sisters, I could think of words I want to call them, but I just can't.   They are just mean and controlling.   I bet Libby's father grew up poor and then made a couple of bucks working hard buying home after home and fixing it himself.   He created an upper middle class life for his family and now wants to protect that at all costs.   But as I said before, as a parent, you can only do that knowing full well that at some point, you must let the kids be out in the world doing their thing.

Luis REALLY does not like that little girl!!!

Luis wants out of that circus and figured out that the best and quickest way to accomplish an exit is by being an inconsiderate prick to the daughters and a complete a-hole to Molly.   A real adult sits down and says "this isn't working for either of us, let's just part as friends".  But neither of them is more mature that the youngest of the two daughters.

  15. Molly and Luis could never work because they are in vastly different stages of their lives.   Luis’s mature life as an adult has not even started.  He has no marketable skills and has chosen NOT to transfer his dishwashing/bartending skills to the US.  I bet my first child that there are hotels in the Georgia area where they live.  Has he made any inquiries at any of those hotels?  I don’t see him looking into newspapers or online for jobs.  Unless Molly wants to keep him as a “kept man” and just cover all his expenses in exchange for babysitting and occasional mediocre sex.   There’s vacation sex and there’s post marriage sex.  It takes a healthy and loving relationship to sustain good sex throughout a marriage.  Not easy.

Molly just wants to be married to check that box.  Luis doesn’t know what he wants and saw this as an adventure.  Now that he is seeing what it takes to be married, he’s coming up with all kinds of scams to get out of it.  Molly is delusional in thinking that she can build a relationship that would sustain a marriage while at the same time planning for an “extravagant” wedding.  Evelyn is on the same trip, concentrating 99% on the wedding, and 1% on building a relationship and having “heart to heart” talks.

David Spain despises Evelyn and Evelyn is slowly realizing that they are not meant to be together.  Neither of them has the balls to come out and just say it.   People from Spain can travel to the US for 90 days under a visit visa.  They should have use those 90days for that and then, once a relationship was actually formed, something with roots, then start talking about getting married.   In normal relationships, a lot of stuff needs to happen, lots of interactions, lots of situations, before talk of marriage is brought up.   These clueless couples, lured by the 15 seconds of fame that being on TV gives you, have deluded themselves into thinking they don’t need all that time to build a relationship and that they could take a shortcut.   There are no shortcuts to great things.

I read in a book years ago that “the dating process leading up to marriage is a series of disclosures about everything.”    A big wedding does not a relationship make.   You build a strong relationship (a foundation) and then build a marriage on top of that (a house)…not the other way around!!!

  16. All these freeloaders could work if they wanted to.  They could clean houses, babysit, do gardening, get a truck and help people move, work at Mom and Pop retail stores....or better yet, volunteer at the local library, volunteer at a food bank or kitchen.  Volunteer to read to the blind.  Even if your English is not perfect, your attention and companionship will mean the world to them.

They are just lazy, all the men and all the women, just living off TLC and their sponsors.  I hope they all get taken in divorce court.

At my age, If I had to be locked up in a house for 90 days, I'll probably kill myself.

  17. We spent less than 5% of our combined incomes on our wedding and had a blast.   All these little girls talking about wanting an expensive wedding.   Where do you get that from?  What entitles them to want an expensive wedding?

Where's the religion in Evelyn's story?  Most churches require their members to go through some couples counseling before getting married.   Also, they don't pray for anything and they don't consult with their church elders.   Something is off with her story.   I think she's doing it for promotion and I also think that her folks are "in" on it as a way to promote her "music".

  18. I wish Aika will STFU about the ring.  She was barefoot a while ago waiting on tips from foreigners.....and now she wants a 13K ring.

and stop saying you gave up your life for Josh.  You had no life, which is why you moved to the US the minute the first dufus asked you.

Same thing for Spanish David.   You didn't give up anything.  Did you have an established career before you came?  Did you own a business where many employees depended on you?  Were you the patriarch or the matriarch of a big family?  NO, NO, NO.    Stop it please.

Josh your "complications about conceiving" get worse as the years go by.   You either want to do it and go on a treatment to move forward or you come up with empty excuses to NOT do it.

It's getting harder to believe that the family members are this ignorant, too. The moment Elizabeth mentioned Andrei, they wouldn't have known where Moldova was, if they actually gave a damn, like they are acting all fearful about now. Adjust the script, Sharp! Every couple is the same thing: "We have ninety days to decide if we are going to marry," "I'm might go back home," "He/she should be a model," "He/she is only here for a Green Card." Ugh.

The threat are a story plot manufactured by TLC/Sharp.   Luis knows that Molly won't move to the Dominican and neither will he.   He most likely has family here and has already setup going to them as a backup.  Or maybe that was the plan all along until the TLC money runs out.

  20. Abby loves Chris.  Sean asked her to stop contact with Chris.  Instead of putting some distance, she’s staying at his apartment and sleeping in his bed.  While Sean was proposing, Abby’s thinking about Chris.  Then she’s says she’s going to try it.  Who goes into marriage thinking about trying it, you are either in 100% or you are not.

Larry is dumb.  Jenny is ugly and an opportunist.   A real woman would see this guy for what he is, a lost soul in dire need of therapy and would just let him go and find himself.

Patrick is immature.  Patrick is pushy.  ..."we have too much in common"  No Patrick, you do not.   Even after she tell him that there's nothing going on, Patrick insists that they are soulmates.

I love Patrick's mother.  She's so real.  Moms is looking out for Patrick but he is such an egomaniac, he can't take his head out of his ass.  Patrick's mom tells it like it is.  Myriam is another opportunist in need of attention.  You are not honest bitch!   And another thing, I really like her Baby Mama.  She's sweet and listened and may just need to work out a bit and lose a bit of baby fat and she'll be a hottie.

Myriam, everyone hates you because you are a two-faced bitch.

I don't understand.  She said no.  She said she's not interested, but

Corny and Antonio.  Corny, you are not in a relationship.  You’ve been talking to a guy you met online and you like him and have had sex with him.  You have not have intimacy.  Antonio does not think of you seriously or respects you as a person or as a woman.  Antonio only cares about himself and about promoting his brand.

Antonio, you are so full of it.  It is not true that “it is OK in Spain” to take nEked pictures of yourself.  Courtney still believes that Antonio cares.  Also, he hides behind “I don’t understand” to not face certain questions.  He is so low.   Corny is so double whipped, that she can’t tell that Antonio is tired of her and keeping her as option C, not even option B.  On marriage, his answer is that he’s getting old.  Wow, what a great reason to get married.  Congrats Antonio.

Shawn Robinson, do not confuse intimacy with having sex or being physical.

Paul and Karine.  A very sad affair.  Dump Paul and go with the translator.

Darcy is two people in one.  One when she is explaining to Shawn Robinson and another

Jesse is such a douche.  He knows he’s on camera and talks as such.  A very passive aggressive conversation.

Did anyone notice Darcy’s hearing aid?

The only thing Jesse wants out of Darcy is his chance to promote himself and his brand.  Darcy is so needy and has such low self-esteem, that she allowed Jesse to talk to her in a very demeaning way on TV, but then allows him to sit next to her.  I feel very sorry for her and hope she gets the help she needs.

Fuck your jacket.  I’ll shit on it and ship it to Amsterdam.

I just think it is logical that the person who is moving to another country should learn the native language.  If Pole was moving to Brazil, he should absolutely learn Portuguese.  It would be nice for him to learn some Portuguese anyway, and he might eventually if Kreeny is desperate enough to marry him.  But, I don't find it offensive that he expects her to learn English.  I'd be more worried if he didn't want her to learn English, because I would take that to mean he wanted to keep her isolated and under control in the US.

Paul has no intention of moving to Brasil.   Karine has all the intentions of moving to the US.   They should both learn each other's language but Karine is in more of a need because she is the one who will be moving to a country where a different language is spoken.

Paul can make some money burning buildings for the insurance money.   I read in a book that there were guys in The Bronx who did that on behalf of building owners.  They were called Torch.  So Paul will be known as "Paul The Torch".

All these guys are soon going to snap out of their fantasies and walk away from these girls.   A long distance relationship requires two strong people and a very strong relationship based on real things, trust, communication, things in common, similar values.   I don't see this with ANY of the couples on this show.   Just a bunch of horny people confusing love with lust.

Karine should really take some English classes.  It would open up more and better marriage opportunities, help her to better get to know an American suitor and make her much less isolated if she eventually comes to America.

It's not easy for Karine to get another American guy because she does not speak English.  Only a delusional dotard like Paul would chase a woman in the Amazon and speak through an app.  Look at Jenny and the other Filipinas in the other 90-day series.  To them it's less than a problem because they speak the language.   Paul's pyromania may be connected to a bit of  his schizophrenia where he creates a separate reality for himself where he thinks what he is doing is right.

Karine can use this exposure to catch another guy in Rio or another large city of her country.   That has more of a chance and would get her out of that rural area where she lives.

  23. There are many things that people living in the US take for granted because like clean water, which you have had for so long and don't imagine that there are places where this isn't the case.   That poop water that Paul almost bathed in, there are people who bathe in that water every day.       There are places that people have steaks and or a roasted pork once a year during a celebration because there's no money for that or the option of clean, edible meat is just NOT there.   We have cable TV with hundreds of channels, I grew up until the age of 14 with only 6 TV channels --  channels from 2 through 13.  TVs had two buttons to change the channels, one was VHF and the other was UHF.   The UHF worked at my friend's house because his father owned a hardware store, but at my house, that button never worked.    Even shitty public schools in the US are better than NO public schools.   I walked into an American public school as an adult and noticed how clean it was and how everyone had brand new books, provided by the school system.  I could not believe my eyes.

Think about all these things and think about being a woman in one of these countries where your choices, few and little to begin with, are now cut in half because of your gender.    This is what Karine, Abby and Jenny have to wake up to on a daily basis.   All of a sudden, Paul, Larry and Sean look a whole lot different.

As a matter of fact, it's not simple at all, it's quite complicated with a lot of nuances and factors.
