  1. I'm so bummed that Hacks is coming back!  Well not really, what I'm really bummed about is that I no longer have MAX, and I don't think I will subscribe again just for this. :(

I miss Alex too. But I see Supermarket Stakeout is coming back May 1 so she has probably been filming that

My husband read (internet, gotta be true!) that Alex was cut from The Kitchen for budget reasons.

I think one of the reasons the UFO/mission stuff was what B used to manipulate Jan

Really late here, probably no one will see my reply. It was either the first episode or this one that Jan was watching some type of Star Trek or Lost in Space show, and her Dad said something like she watches too much of these alien shows.  So I take it that B knew she was drawn to that genre and thus preyed upon it.

It's so bizarre that changing all the character's relationships and conflicts and personalities from the book in order to make things more dramatic has actually made it less compelling. So disappointing. It's basically the Lifetime movie version. Seems like they thought the series would be more appealing if they added a bunch of secret sex. (They were wrong.)

So are you saying that Brooke didn't have an affair with Savannah in the book?  Did Brooke and Gina break up?

  5. In what way did Karen ever earn a #2 seed?  Ok, so she made the top 8 before, but never to the final four.  I would put her as a #4 seed at best.

Canned green beans.  Ugh.  No matter what you do, canned green beans may as well be called green bean mush.  Yuck.  I agree with Nancy, you can tempura fry the green beans but they will still be mush inside.  Again, yuck.

Do people really have trouble understanding Amanda? I saw folks saying that in the forums, so I was trying to pay attention to it tonight, and she didn't seem to me to be speaking quickly. Was it slower today, or do I just have an ear for her voice?

This episode Amanda did speak slower.  I'm one of the complainers regarding this and I appreciated that this time it was easier to understand her.

  7. I thought Cricket was going to be a replacement for Sara Linton, just to change things up from the book.  Sadly that was not meant to be.  I thought she and Will had really good chemistry.

Why does everyone talk so fast?  Especially Sonia Sohn, she flies across her scenes and you can barely understand what she is saying.  I get that her character is intense, but Sonia takes it way too far, IMO.

  8. "Reacher" is my husband's must-see; I watch along but could take it or leave it.  I didn't mind Season 1, but this season seemed convoluted and improbable.  I can suspend a lot of belief but this was really out there.  Not my favorite and I probably won't join in for Season 3.

I found it unwatchable and turned it off after 20 minutes.  Performances were good, but the characters were so annoying.

I almost turned it off at that point too but carried on.  Diane redeemed herself somewhat towards the end, but for me it was too little, too late.  I found her despicable loathsome and felt sorry for all whom she dragged into her wake.

  10. I've already forgotten seasons 1-3.  I briefly remember Billy Bob Thornton in season 1 but don't remember the story; Jean Smart was in one of the others, again, don't remember the story; I remember not-Claire-Danes who played Peggy, but don't remember the story. I remember 4 because that was not that long ago, and of course 5 which we just finished.

Would someone be willing to do a quick summary of all seasons?

Indira didn't get mad but the expression on her face as she stepped just outside her front door showed sadness,

I believe that she had already "checked out" of the marriage, and this was just the final fork to stick in it, so there is no further emotion to be had.  It's done, over.

the FBI people were constantly a joke

I was annoyed with the female FBI agent's constant smiling smirk.  Every line she spoke she had a half smile on her face.  Was that an intentional device by the actor, or was she just so darn happy to be on the show?  Or maybe smiling is her favorite thing, like Buddy the Elf??

  13. This season looks like Fargo is getting back to it's roots, what we loved about the original Fargo.  The last few seasons strayed from North Dakota/Minnesota and current day; I watched but was not captivated by them.  Those seasons didn't resemble "Fargo" at all.  I'm really looking forward to this new season.

  14. I like Maddie.  There, I said it.  I feel like the actor and the character have grown.  I do wish that her role was smaller though.

I would like to see less of Honey Chandler too, although since she and Maddie are 2 of the 3 leads of the show, I guess that's not gonna happen.  Do women really still carry their handbags in the crook of their arm?  That was something my grandma did.  I carry mine using the shoulder strap or a cross-body so my arms are freed.

Freak of the night Skittles was the stuff of nightmares. He looked like a pink, puffy version of the scary clown from 'It'. I found it interesting that his 2 side pieces were very normal looking, no blown-up bits or crazy body modification.

The dark haired friend had visibly large lips, but not nearly the size of Skittles'.  I kind of missed what he said though, he has a lot of sugar daddies??  Do guys (straight or other) go for his type?
