Your first two (Miles <= Craig, VJ <= Marco) was pretty good comparisons, but all else aren't in my opinion. Especially with Manny/Zoe, their struggles weren't exactly the same. The only real similarities are their interests in acting and them being filmed without being fully there (but completely different scenarios... Manny: drunk, only her chest, Zoe: touched, not shown if she was raped or not). Zoe didn't have thoughts of getting plastic surgery, wasn't abused or had pregnancy scares, etc. It is still the beginning of her Degrassi career and Manny's character had a lot more traction and development than Zoe's so far. I sort of understand Tiny and Jay, they both have a shady past and got out of it, but I think Tiny would be more like Sean. Zig is just Spinner except without the cancer. Tiny has the brother, like Sean, who is a mega bad influence and they both don't have parental supervision in their homes. They also both had friends see their living situations and how bad they are. The only thing I hope Tiny doesn't have to go through is jail and losing out on love! (which I hope is being is Shay and not Lola... Shiny <3) I could explain other pairings but I rather not take that much space and I don't want to be rude (sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, I just wanted degrassi since the first episode of next generation growing up).

But they always "retread" the opening credits for every season/movie.
