Fessy didn't win or even place. Yay! Whoever decided to use Karma Chameleon over that montage of him and Kaycee? Good work, that was perfection.

And the use of The Cure's "Boys Don't Cry" during Fessy's eating challenge return was brilliant!

All of us watching were busting up when those two songs came on to perfectly nail Fessy.

I watched this show in the old days, stopped watching when they started adding lots of new people and started back again last season--so I've never seen this Devin person before. I understand from posts on here that he is a jerk, but what I've gotten to see has cracked me up. Devin v. Josh, I'm on Team Devin. I liked his use of math facts to antagonize Josh. I also liked his "Big Brother Sucks" and BB people acting like that is some awful slur. It's a tv show; plus it was clearly a joke.

I always find the challenges more interesting in theory than they are to actually watch.

I hope someone who had a shot at getting a skull and skipped it ends up not ever getting the chance to compete for one. That would make me very happy.

I, too was wondering why the "Big Brother sucks" declaration was taken so seriously. I've never watched Big Brother, but why couldn't any of them handle someone joking about it?

That interview also says that Gary blazed through the Roadblock in France (where the music was) so fast that it didn't even register for him that there was music playing there.  That's why they kept failing the one spot on the cases.

Also, they clarify DeAngelo's real problem with TAR; not the Racing part, but the part where the EatSleepMingle used to be.  De wanted to get out and see the places they were in after finishing a Leg, but they were confined to their hotels until the start of the next Leg.  That's why he said he would have had a better time if he'd spent his own money to make the same trip; he would have been able to experience the locations more.

In my honest opinion, the final task was really not that hard once the racers actually READ and followed the clue. Then it becomes very easy to do a process of elimination. So the fact that Gary and DeAngelo didn't think to reread the clue before taking a two hour penalty tells me they were always a weak team and only got to where they were from being helped by others. I understand they felt discouraged and beaten down at that point, but it would have been so much more honorable if they had just finished the task instead of being the only team to give up this season, especially if they wanted to make the point that they deserved to be there - let alone in the final three.

Also, I find it ironic that everyone was mad at Aparna for being bitter and sore (AT DeAngelo, no less) last week, and then this week we have DeAngelo take that soreness to a whole other level. At least Eswar and Aparna actually finished their leg.

Excited to see NOLA next week - a city I've been wanting to visit forever!

Like was said earlier, Gary and DeAngelo never could place the music for France. Gary said he was in the art gallery road block for five minutes, so he barely heard the music at all, while DeAngelo was outside and didn't hear it, as well.

  4. I'm loving this show, so far and was delighted to hear some Devo in the episode. It seems that the title is a reference to "Space Junk," which is a different Devo song than "Mongoloid," that actually was played in the episode. They are both from the same album, though.

  5. The physically blocking him from leaving a meeting they said he was free to go, and the strip search were infuriating.

The other part that made me furious, was the fact that Mary Rain used the emotions of this case to get elected. With the way she conducted herself in this case, I was not surprised that she has had her law license suspended for misconduct over her tenure.

I guess I'm majorly in the minority, but I had no problem with Edge of Extinction. I think it was pretty cool actually. I think it shows just how much Survivor differs from other "game shows." (Well, it and TAR.) It truly is life-changing.  People can get so much out of it, a new perspective, a new sense of self, and we really saw that.

I love that this new wrinkle allowed players to keep fighting. I love that EVERY SINGLE PLAYER voted out grabbed that torch to continue just for the chance to get back in the game. And out of everyone, no matter how miserable the circumstances, but for two, stuck it out on that small piece of island. It really shows the power and effect this game has on people. I thought that was really amazing.

And the different perspective that Chris brought from coming back from his Survivor game was worthy of a win. It's called "Survivor" and he outlasted and outplayed the other players in another arena. He was still in the game. He may have gotten voted off part of the game, but per these new rules, he was still a part of it. And when he came back in, he played everyone perfectly and honestly. And that was one of THE most baller moves.... giving up his immunity to fight Devens to fire to fire to get back in the final 3.

I was so freaking happy when he beat Devens. Devens will go down as one of my least favorite non-horrific players. Yeah, if he'd been top 3, he would have deserved to win, but damn, I couldn't stand him. So I cheered with joy when Chris beat him.

    That's my take anyway.

I am with you in the minority. It's weird coming here and seeing how awful this season was to a great deal of people. My whole household was entertained by this season, and actually had no problem with the setup.

I was pulling for Devens, but once Chris gave up his immunity to do the fire-making challenge, I had a feeling he would win.

That blonde woman was supposed to be a teen? I'd put her at late 20's at the youngest.

  8. As someone that liked when Andre would actually come out ahead, and wished Pete would lose at everything, the ending was very disappointing. I know that Andre is forever the butt of the joke, but I believe that was way over the line (even for the show's universe).

  9. I, for one, am wondering if the "Love A" inscription on the cufflinks was significant (if I'm remembering that correctly). Hmmm.... Andrea? (I can't think of any other TWD "A" names at the moment).

As for Liz asking for a bullet to the head before she's even sick, I think if I knew I was going to turn into something that would potentially involve my killing (and eating) my child, I'd be sure to get it taken care of too, before things got taken out of my hands.

I don't know why Strand needed Nick, except maybe for the backup of someone with a healthy dose of his own self interest?

The whole yacht thing makes me think of two things; the WWZ zombies that walked along the ocean floor, surprising people when they suddenly came traipsing out of the surf, and Dawn of the Dead (2004) where they decided their best bet was to head for a secluded island via a yacht, only to be overcome by zombies as soon as they landed.

All in all, I'm in. As a fan of horror, sci-fi and fantasy, this show, for all its faults, is unfortunately about as good as it gets (the original TWD and GOT aside). I'll watch until I completely lose interest like I did on the last few seasons of AHS, but hopefully it won't get that bad.

I think Strand mentioned that Abigail is the name of the yacht, so maybe it is named after somebody significant that gave him the cuff links.

I guess I am in the 1% minority on this board that actually enjoyed the show. When I first heard about the spinoff, I couldn't care less. I decided to try it out, based on the casting. I watched the show with my sister, and we both got really in to it. When I came hear to catch the discussions, I was surprised at how much derision it has received. I understand a lot of the points being made, but I guess I put blinders on and got hooked on this show.

  10. I enjoy whenever Andre gets a "win." He's always the butt of the joke, that when he comes out on top, I cheer. Conversely, I like it whenever Pete gets some comeuppance. I also had to laugh at Raffi's line about how, while in period attire, it was a slave auction, and wanted to know that everyone was okay with that.

I guess I'm in the minority, in loving every time Raffi shows up. I get a kick out of how he always calls Kevin, Brian, and that Pete is "Tall Guy."

  11. So, I just started playing the new Playstation 4 game, Until Dawn, basically a slasher, survival game, and imagine my surprise to see that none other then Rami Malek is voicing and using his likeness for one of the characters.  I only played the beginning chapter, but it sounds like it will be an important one:

his character is the brother of the two victims in the opening act.

The game also has Hayden Panettiere, Brett Dalton (Ward from Agents of Shield), and Peter Storemare, so this should be fun!

Have you finished your first playthrough, yet. We just completed it this past weekend, and it is very fun and tense.

We totally messed up the last chapter, and only got two characters to survive "until dawn."

  12. If any of you have a PS4, I highly encourage you to play Until Dawn. It's a horror game where decisions you make in game will have an effect on the survival of the eight characters stranded on a mountain lodge with someone/something pursuing them. It is very tense and suspenseful. It's very cinematic, and the characters are look just like their voice actors. The cast includes Hayden Panettiere, Peter Stormare, Rami Malek, and AOS's own, Brett Dalton. His character, Mike, started off as the jerk; but by the end, he had become my favorite.

  13. I just turned on my dvr recording of this episode, but found that there was no sound. The commercials between all had audio, but not the show, itself. I am on Comcast in the Bay Area, and tried to look up if this was a problem for others, but didn't find a thing on it. I guess my recording just messed up and will have to watch the sketches online.

  14. Heh. My older daughter would leave a vanilla cone to go off to playground equipment. Now chocolate might be another story ...

I know this all too well. My youngest niece almost always leaves her ice cream to melt while she does other things.

  15. No, not really the best finale ever. It was OK.

    Morgan on TD. He's British.

    A few thoughts:

FPP came back from killing two walkers with a pristine white shirt and got no blood or gore on it?

The Wolves are only those two guys?

A very small group at the Alexandria meeting, I thought there would be more people than that.

I'm thinking that the Unfair Wolves shown are going to be a part of a bigger group for next season. I must not have been paying close attention, because I initially thought the ones that killed Red Poncho were different guys.

On Lennie James; the first thing I ever saw him in was Snatch, so I knew he was British before even seeing him on this show.

  16. Now that he's the #pointsme winner, and has appeared on the show, Chris Cubas has a podcast that I have been listening to called "Canceled." He and a guest watch a show that lasted only one season, and discuss the episodes. They do two episodes per podcast, and the guest stays the same for the run of the show. So far, he has done Firefly and is in the middle of Cop Rock.

  17. Even though I like him, it seems like a bit of a cheat to have Chris Cubas as the first Points Me winner. He's an established comedian (I've been hearing him on Doug Loves Movies for at least the past year and a half), so I get why they did it - it's a guarantee that you'll have someone funny up there who won't bomb. But it kind of goes against what I thought was the spirit of the contest, which was that a regular viewer would get to compete on the show.

I was surprised as well. As soon as they showed some of the tweets from the winner, I immidiately recognized who it was. Cubas was even on the most recent Tournament of Championships episode of DLM, and I have been listening to his own podcast, "Canceled."
