I'm just impressed you can name so many of these young women and give specific details. My biggest frustration this season is that we only see about 3 seconds on most of the candidates. The show seems to be about a select one - or few - who are "Not Making the Team" (NMTT) instead of a balanced show that depicts the stories about the entire rookie class in training camp and a veteran story tossed-in occasionally for fun.

I completely agree. Never would've known who Taylor T was unless she made that mistake. I know nothing about Lily except she gets cut, but she's has positive feedback along the way. I thought Tara was the sacrificial lamb, but now I'm thinking its Lily.

  2. Here's basically all my thoughts on training camp. This board moves so fast I can hardly keep up!

Amber/ Bridget- I don't think I'll ever be able to tell them apart. One or both are in show group, one "messed up" during media training (I had no idea what Brenda was talking about either), one came back from California, and one was called out by Marty.

Caroline- I can't get her cameo pic out of my head. Like she just heard some juicy gossip she just has to share.

Erin- I'm actually pretty astounded about how she turned it around so much in a year. She was one of (if not the) first one to go home last year and she was always falling. Now she's killing it in every clip. You go Erin!

Cianna- love her and her hair

Brianna- also amazed that she didn't even make training camp last year but makes the team this year. I wish I knew more about her

Kristen- I want her to come back, hopefully with an easier work/driving schedule. She definitely had dance mistakes, but she brought a quiet maturity to the rookies. I did think she looked more awake in the last 2 episodes

I don't think Jasmin, Lindsay, or Dayton got enough time to improve. I also don't think Taylor T's mistake was as damning as they thought. This may be the first training camp that I don't think anybody is an obvious cut.

Victoria- I go back and forth on her. I have my show opinion (young, immature, an okay dancer, could have the total DCC look if she lost weight and styled her hair correctly) vs the board opinion (poisonous, a liar, doesn't take anybody seriously, a train wreck that has less maturity than a 3rd grader). I do think her cut scene will be very interesting at the least, so I'm looking forward to it. (I also didn't think her etiquette dress was bad and there was no need to call her out)

Malena- her bright moments and appearance have saved her thus far. I can bet that if Hannah/Jalyn had the same issues they would've been sent home weeks ago. I love both of their looks, but they are not classic beauties.

Tara- she was one of my favorites last year and it's hard to see her fall. I'll never forget her pom-snapping scene where she showed her power.

Final thought for now- I know this would never happen, but I would love for them to replace cameos with game day shots. In basically every game day picture, the girls look relaxed and happy. Rookie Madeline's profile pic is gold, Rachel looks so much better in motion, etc.

I have work tomorrow, but I just wanna Nancy drew training camp invites! Stupid east coast! I remember watching DCC as a kid and even the first season and wishing I could be like them! Unfortunately I have minimal rhythm so I just wait for my favorite reality tv show. I hope we get some fresh faces but I see some vets losing spots this year from rookies just out working them.

I don't have to work, but I'm probably the only person in middle GA waiting and waiting ☺ the east coast struggle is real

  4. I thought, for a closer, Kash's solo looked so dang sloppy. Bent legs, slow connections, it was rough for me. There's something I absolutely love about Savannah. Both she and Molly know how to work their less technical skills. Tess' extensions seemed really low, but it could look that way just because she's tall. I really liked Heather's solo, and rookie candidate Rachel absolutely killed it.

  5. I've had 3 dreams about being a DCC. The first was that i won a contest of sorts and was allowed on the team, even though I'm not even close to making it. In the next, Kelli and Judy were trying to help me get in a split when I was so far off, and i was scared that they noticed me. In the last Raylee was helping me locate my veteran practice outfit for my 2nd year. I guess I'm going to be at point next! ☺

Unpopular opinion...I love Christina. I admire her determination. I'm so glad she made the team and I've said this before...I hope she has longevity as a DCC.

I'm torn on this. I like her look and determination. She seems mature and not like she is whining and crying to be on the team. She takes corrections well and puts in the effort to fix. But, at the same time.. there is very little flattering footage of her. The kicks are low, splits are tight and she doesn't have as much pop as some other rookies. I'm tempted to think that all the vet drama has shifted K&J focus, or they know they just need a complete team at this point.

I hope I have enough time this weekend to watch season 1; I've only seen season 6 on. I'm so intrigued by the stuff I've heard here about the book report.

I finished this weekend. I am simply amazed at the number of differences in the show. The pantsuits (on Kelly too!), tube tops at auditions, polaroids, fitness, having 2 girls drop out of TC at the beginning. I saw many low kicks (at least compared to now) and solos at finals that looked like acting rather than dancing. The polish and level of talent the girls bring has increased dramatically.

I am not nor have I ever been a dancer, so this is not a criticism of Erica at all but can someone please explain to me why that's a good solo? I adore Erica but I was kind of bored watching all that writhing around on the floor, but again I know nothing of dance or technique so I'm sure there is a lot more to it than I am aware of.

Also, I find it ironic that Jinelle gets crap for using the same move over again when it seems like lots of gals do. Are these girls maybe choreographing their own routines and you stick with what you know? Maybe I should take some technique classes so I can understand!

I'm going out on a limb here since I'm not a dancer, but her solo was good because she has solid technique. The tricks/ turns she's soing are impressive, we've just seen them all before. My issue with Jinelle's move is that it's something I can do, and requires about no technique. Now I think Erica's wasn't exciting because we've seen the moves and it all blended together. I very much enjoyed Maddies because, though her technique isn't perfect, she has pauses and exciting moments.

  9. Moving on.. my two cents:

    - I watched Erica and Madeliene's solos, but I must say i prefered Madeliene's more. Erica's was technically very solid, and I love her, but Madeliene had that extra pop in her dancing.

    - I love that Amy L stayed, but I think it was soo risky to do a full tap solo. Last year I think she did half tap/ half jazz, but doing full jazz was definitely a risk that she probably shouldn't do again.

    - I hate that Raylee was cut! I loved her look, and thought her dancing was just fine. I remember getting a few comments the end of her first TC, but last year was fine so I thought she was safe for the rest of her time. It'll be interesting to see what actually got her cut, because I don't see anything obvious.

It makes me sad for her. I know in the past they have not been happy about a Vet falling out of a turn. The rookies in this group were out dancing her sadly.

But honestly, I can't imagine she was that much better auditioning last year as a rookie, yet she somehow sailed through. I'll never understand her being a DCC, but falling out of a turn is one of her more minor offenses

I can totally see what you mean, most of them look more tone and younger after DCC. I'm not a stress eater at all but tell me I can't have something then I'll have double.

I strolled through Roni's instagram and was struck by how beautiful she looked. I remember her crying in Kelli's office and I thought she looked puffy, but she looks great now
