Damn, I really wasn't expecting this given that they're big name singers as compared to Gumball.
Edit : Wow, based on the looks on their faces, the judges really didn't know who Beets were.

I really with they hadn't used the bell already(and I can't believe I'm saying that since I hate the bell). Gumball and Beets deserve to be in the finals.

Goodbye, Seal! As entertaining as that was, it was giving 'drunk uncle at a 4th of July party" vibes, not actual good vocalist.

I hope the judges were being intentionally obtuse re: who the Beets are because they weren't even trying to alter their voices tonight.

These guys all sound good together! I'm sad 2 are going home as I'd love to see both Gumball and the Beets in the finale.

There must be someone who wants otherwise why would TPTB keep going there? They could have just left Josh with Serena but considering Josh has issues, Serena probably got out in time.
IMO, the only one who wants it is TPTB. I'd be perfectly fine if all the characters had off-screen partners who we occasionally heard about. I'm not watching this for relationships. I do agree that Serena is better without Josh.

Contestants perform songs that hold a special place in their hearts; two celebrities are unmasked.

And we’re back to the boring cases. If we actually knew anything about the 2 victims, I might’ve cared more, but the way this was presented, I found my mind wandering a lot. Mom/daughter weren’t good at faking being upset, they just seemed like the investigation was an inconvenience to them. The stupid Allie/Josh stuff had me rolling my eyes too. Please don’t go there show, nobody wants that.
I’m glad the robot was acknowledged finally.
Serena and the robot lady were actually interesting and I wish we could have seen more with them. I was expecting a far different ending than what we got, though.
Why is Penny so cranky? Has she still not forgiven Serena for doing her job. The whole point of being undercover is that nobody knows you’re undercover. When Serena came into the lab in her first costume and said to Penny “at least this time you’ll know I’m undercover”, I laughed .

Ken right again? What is happening? Is this some alternate universe?
Cleocatra seemed ready to be done.

Did I miss why Cleocatra is sitting in a chair tonight?

I never recognize any of the voices. Not even the one time William Shatner was on.
If you want to know, I’m certain Beets are
SpoilerClay Aiken & Ruben Studdard
Edit : Can I petition to have no dead/dying/ill wives next season? I get that everyone goes through shit, but this is one of my happy, relaxing shows and those stories just drag the mood down so much for me.

I ❤️ the Beets! That just erased the bad vibes from the beginning of the show.
Edit : I don’t know how the judges are struggling this much(if its real). Their voices were super recognizable tonight.

Nooo, make it stop!
On the plus side, Nick is fully clothed tonight!

Contestants perform classic hits from the most iconic girl groups of all time; a Wildcard is introduced; Carnie Wilson and Raven Symone return to the stage.

I did miss something, though. What was the point of the neighbor/Barry Kripke having sunscreen on his hands? I remember Josh honing in on that as he started to figure out who did it, but I still don't understand how that was a clue.
He said to Folsom “ In case you haven’t heard, radiation is running amuck in Vegas. We all have to take precautions and sunscreen’s not even the worst of it.” I think Folsom thought he was hiding radiation burns(there was a throwaway line about that but I can’t recall if it was before or after), and that’s why he wanted to look down his collar. Then Angela was waving the radiation detector and dropped the blood on his hand. Mostly just a misdirect to make us think he was the one who poisoned his neighbor and Angela really was dying.

I think she used misdirection---dropping some blood on Kripke's hand and while everyone was looking at that, put some under her nose.
That makes sense, thanks! I was half watching and half standing at my front door while my cat decided if she wanted to go outside again or stay in for the night.

Kripke! I’ve seen the actor in a few things since TBBT ended, but he’ll always be Kripke to me.
This was actually a good episode. I was engaged throughout and didn’t immediately peg the radiation expert as being behind the whole thing. Good job, show!
One thing that confused me, though, was her nose bleed. I know they said it was feline blood, but how did she get it into her nose in the first place? They were in a small interrogation room, so even if she tried to do it discreetly, someone would have noticed and been like wtf?
I knew the robot case wasn’t over, but I wasn’t expecting there to be more on the previous case. Rather, I figured it’d be listening in on Max or cause issues in the lab. This writing team has never been good wrapping things up, IMO, so I wrote off the choppy ending of the previous episode. Now to keep everything crossed that they actually revisit it in these final few episodes and didn’t have it be to plant seeds for some storyline in a hypothetical season 4.

Officially cancelled ☹️ I’m not surprised, but I was holding out hope that maybe they’d get another half season in the fall. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like we haven’t really gone anywhere this season and getting things wrapped up in 3-4 episodes doesn’t seem like it will be satisfying 🤷♀️

Predictable but enjoyable!
Does anyone know when this season was filmed?

Gotta be honest, based on all the commercials I’ve watched, TPTB could not project the outcome of tonight more. But I’m hoping for some good songs 🤞
Edit : The wardrobe dept is usually better at dressing the judges cohesively, but they’re kind of a mess tonight. Love Rita’s dress, though.
Edit 2 : Ugly Sweater is a firecracker! Where was this personality in past weeks?

The group A contestants are put under pressure as they pay homage to iconic rock band, Queen. Two celebrities break free of their masks and one moves on to the quarter finals.

What in the actual fuck? How did Starfish survive again? Koala must’ve wanted to do only one because he should be moving on.

I thought Nick said they could use it in all the later rounds, but maybe he misspoke or I misunderstood.
It could also just be wishful thinking on my part since I hate it 😂 But he did say only 3 were going to the finals, so we’re definitely getting rid of 2 tonight.

Goldfish needs to win tonight, and nobody should ring that #&@^%!$^%&!$^ bell for this round.
I thought they were only using it once this season.
❤️ Goldfish. She’s miles ahead of everyone else, so far. I’m probably way off base here, but during the clue package, the first name to pop into my head was Selena Gomez w/the whole Bieber thing that still happens. No idea what her singing voice actually sounds like, though.

S02.E08: P.I.’s Wide Shut
in So Help Me Todd

*sigh* I’m really going to miss this show. I laughed harder at this episode than I’ve laughed at tv in awhile. I’m not sure how Elsbeth got renewed, tbh. I couldn’t make it 15 mins, and what I’ve seen of the new Matlock show doesn’t seem promising either.
Todd/Lyle really make a great pairing whether working together or against each other. And I loved how their pranks were mostly harmless, yet still hilarious.
I wasn’t sure about Judy the first time we saw her, but I’ve since come to love her. Her willingness to just go along with whatever crazy idea Todd has is fantastic. She never bats an eye, it’s just all-in. I’m sad we’ll never get to see what could have been with these two, either romantically or just friendship-wise.
So happy Susan and Margaret are back on good terms again. It was hard to watch them being at each others throats so much, especially because it seemed like it came out of nowhere. I understand Margaret not being completely honest about not promoting Susan at first, but given their history, I would have expected Susan to not just feel like Margaret was blowing her off.
Bonus, minimal Alison to drag the show down.
