This hasn't seen the light of day for a very long time. When I wrote it I got some fabulous feedback and it was archived all over the place. It was also shortlisted for a 'Spooky award' - possibly my finest moment ever. Didn't win one but the shortlist was enough. Its novel length. If you read it and want to give feedback, ignore the e-mail address on the site. Its inactive and won't reach me.

I just finished chapter 7 and I'm already addicted to knowing what happens next! This is tonight's read, plays like an episode with mystery all intwined.

  2. I just wish they didn't use that horrible Achy Breaky Heart song. I don't want to think about or hear anything related to Billy Rae Cyrus and in turn makes me think about his little demon spawn during my precious X-Files nostalgia trip.

  3. So far, I've seen 3 episodes of the Fall and it's intriguing. I'd like to follow the Stella things but I'm getting through an X-Files rewatch and I think trying to watch two shows starring Gillian playing two different women and going back and forth with a 20 year age difference of the same person might be too much for me at the same time, lol. For now, it's going to be just Scully for me, and Stella's going to have to wait a bit. All I can say is Gillian is stunning in both roles and I'll be shallow and say I think she looks best as a vibrant redhead!

  4. Oh, this girl. I remember it did not take long for me to develop my first girl crush ever on Gillian Anderson/Scully before there was an official name & description for "girl crush", lol. In 1994, it was really difficult to learn much about her back then without the internet so I only got to see her through the show as Scully and buying behind the scenes magazine articles about DD and GA. I especially liked the idea she used to be a punk kid in real life, compared to Dr. Scully. I had completely forgotten about her after I stopped watching the show around 6th season. However, with the revival episodes, it just brought back the old girl crush that apparently never went away, just stayed dormant. Wow, she's always been a great actress, but also still beautiful. I also look at old bloopers of X-Files and she has the most contagious laugh and smile, again finding it fascinating just how unlike Scully she really is. I'm fangirling!

Oh, I forgot to add, a couple of years after I watched the show I found myself at age 25 working in a men's prison. I was basically a 5 foot tall woman spending my days in a portable building (alone!) with inmates. It felt precarious everyday at work and I was a contractor so I wasn't trained in criminal or legal things. But subconsciously, I went back to Gillian's portrayal of Scully. A small woman who worked in the big men's club in dangerous situations, and I took upon a lot of Scully's mannerisms and examples when I myself was taking to or dealing with the inmates on my own. I must say, it helped with the posturing, lol. I feel like I should thank her for the example I used in my unexpected life twist. When other female staff got conned, etc, I sometimes thought "didn't they watch the X-Files?"

  5. The X-Files revival has actually caused me to finally sign up for an account. It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure I was watching the pilot episode when it aired. I was 17 and really into paranormal, mystery stuff and this show description was right up for my ally. A bit of personal home pride factored in since I consider myself a Vancouverite/Lower Mainlander and loved the fact then show just looked so familiar to me because of that.

I have memories of my brothers and I eagerly settling down on Friday night to see this scary show. By November 1993, my brother wised up and sent a fan letter to the X-Files. I'm still jealous of what happened next.. I assume because the show was building an audience, they actually sent back stuff. A photo of Mulder and Scully signed by both GA and DD to my brother "To Mike, Thanks, ". Talk about personal attention! I guess when they were still unknown, they did these little things. By the time I tried writing, in 1994, I just got a non personalized postcard, lol. My brother still has it, since I remember telling him to hold on to that just in case the show or the two stars got famous. Boy, has it blew up since the humble beginning that fall of '93! I'm having so much nostalgia attacks with the new episodes and my rewatch. It really is like seeing old friends and, of course, familiar local surroundings again!

  6. I'm currently doing a rewatch and I'm in Season 3 right now. I haven't watched these episodes since when they aired and I think season 3 is a prime era for the show. One thing that I'm noticing is how pretty GA suddenly became. She looks like a technicolor MGM movie star from the 1940's. I'm watching Jose Chung's From Outer Space and is it just me seeing Scully actually "fangirling" over that author? That's so cute and unusual, I've seen Mulder be a fanboy, but didn't think Scully would gush over anyone lol
