What really appalled me about that guy was that he gave her the ring (value 200 bucks) with a CZ in it, and THEN tried in court to recover the ring with HER diamond in it!  GAH!

That alone should have caused the Loser Alarm to activate.

Car case.....I think they were merging into the center lane at the same time. Also this happened in the DC suburbs of Virginia. There's something wrong with this place because drivers are really, really, awful here.

I think you mean Bill Cullen here.  :-) Who also, believe it or not (per Wiki) was the original host of The Price Is Right ('60s version - before my time!).

Ha! Proof you really can find almost anything on YT. Here is such an episode of '60s TPIR!

    Unfortunate typo.

Been too busy for tv recently :(

  3. About the wedding video.......Initially, I thought the song was "Love Roller Coaster" by the Ohio Players, and after listening to the actual song on the vid, "Love Roller Coaster " would have been the better choice. I guess the producers needed filler and decided to show the entire vid. In doing so, it  scared our cat, made the kids suddenly want to go help Grandma in the other room, and prompt Mr. Milz to exclaim "What the Hell's this crap?"

I felt a little bit smug myself during the "babysitted" case.  I was a lawyer many years ago, but haven't practiced in 16 years.  I yelled out "quantum meruit" when JJ said she was going to break out the Latin.  Then I pumped my fist in the air to salute the status of "still got it."  I startled my sleeping lab by my foolishness.

My hand itched to smack the stupid boy!  I totally agree that he practiced the line, he started it at least once before he got out the full sentence "I was watching a stupid program.....I was watching a stupid program called Judge Judy."

We just ordered an electric fly swatter that looks like a tennis racket.  That would kind of be fun to watch JJ wield it on flies and idiots alike.

    OMIGOD! You're Harvey Levin!!!!

It was 50 people for 3 meals over 2 days.  The turkeys were for the last day - Sunday dinner - so they only needed to last for one meal.

That makes more sense. but it's still not enough food if you figure 1 pound of turkey per person. Either everyone took way more than their share or they didn't have enough food.

Re: All you can eat mentality.....for some reason it really bothers me that people pile their plates then eat one or two bites of it. In Japan, they charge you extra if you leave food, which cuts down on waste.

Exactly.  If you know your relatives are gluttons (and I expect she did know), and you're paying only $16 per person, then your catering contract needs to include servers to staff the tables and serve up reasonable portions rather than allowing a free for all.   So Uncle Lester doesn't take all the hot dogs before Nana even gets to the buffet table.

Disclaimer: For really huge family gatherings, we get together and  hire someone to supply BBQ. And all attendees are asked to bring a food or beverage. This system works well, unless everyone decides to bring coleslaw or potato salad, or only a few people bring food or everyone chows down like they haven't eaten in 4 years. Also it takes food organization, meaning, you don't put everything out at one time and yell "Come and get it!". The food has to be brought out in phases.

I got the feeling this is what the plaintiff wanted to happen,  and why they spent a total of  $16/person and why they ordered 2 turkeys for 150 people. I bet they expected more family members to bring food to supplement the catered food. Because she did say that the catered food plus the food they brought was not enough food for everyone at the party to have whatever.

She's not a typical 81 year old (WTH did that mean?)

It means she isn't in a nursing home, needing 24/7 skilled nursing care and addled out of her mind.

Taking inflation into account, $300 in 2016 is equivalent of about $100 in the late 80s when I was a teen. Ummmm.....I don't think my parents spent more than $50 for my Xmas gifts.

Seriously, Mr. Brady's architectural designs went all over an amusement  park and survived roller coasters just fine in one of those tube.

And there was that time when Greg worked at the firm after school and was tasked with delivering some blue prints in one of those big tubes. While Greg bought a comic book at a news stand, the lid came undone and the prints slipped into the gutter. And we last see them being intentionally stomped upon by a bunch of different people, as if intentionally stomping on paper is mandatory for all pedestrians.

Are you watching over broadcast antenna TV? We have Verizon FIOS, and it carries MPT2 which has shows similar to Create, but it's not Create.

MPT2 is what I mean (I do broadcast at home. Comcast at work.) It's not Create 24/7 like WETA used to be, but MPT2 's programming is Create for about 6 hours during the day. I'm not too sure about weekends.

I miss Create. I wish WETA used one of its 4 stations for it or the Howard University station would pick it up.

Hah! I noticed that unique pronunciation. It's almost as funny as WKRP in Cincinnati's Les Nessman's pronunciation as "chia who-ah who-ah". I mean, come on! The least any pet parent can do is pronounce the pet's breed correctly.  Good thing the doggie wasn't a shih tzu because they would have to bleep her out.

  12. Chessiegirl, I'm in the DC Metro area too. If you can get the Baltimore stations, Channel 22.2 is Create (for about 6 hours a day).

I watched American Masters program about Janis Joplin. Oh my.....I was in tears during her interview about her high school classmates. The pain in her voice and the pain on her face were too much for me. And it was even more painful when she was trying to make light of it.

I still can't get over how beautiful Leslie Uggams still looks!  She's very youthful and clear-eyed.  I pray that when I reach her age, I will look as young as her.

I know! And she has an elegance and poise about her that I wish she could bottle and sell for $19.99 because I'd certainly buy it.

  14. I know it's wrong, but I was just laughing my head off watching do ragged Lucious eating the cake Grandma baked for him! His expression was a combo of "Mama's crazy. I'm gonna die. But I'm gonna kick Andre's ass before I die. If I wasn't so scared, I'd get the hell outta here! I hope this cake ain't poisoned! Damn can she at least turn up the lights in here a little, I can't see what I'm eating let alone where she's pointing that big knife! Maybe I don't want to see where she has that knife pointed. I'm gonna kick Andre's ass! This cake is really good! ". BTW, didn't Lucious think it was weird Grandma got him from his bedroom, when he instructed Juanita to keep her in her room and keep an eye on her 24/7? I hope Grandma didn't kill Juanita. Anyhow, it would be hilarious if Grandma only acts crazy around Lucious, but is "sane" around the rest of the family.  BTW, those cakes looked yummy!

Rhonda: You have 2 more episodes to regain your memory of the fall. I hope you get out of BBK's apartment alive.

Andre: Lucious is gonna kick your ass.

Thirsty: I hope the thugs you hired notice her shoe fell off.

Jamal: Don't get involved with him. He's not ready to be out. You're wasting your time.

Candace and Carole: You two are the dumbest people around. Yeah, go to a restaurant/bar and talk about all the murders Carole helped Lucious with when Cookie was in jail. You'd have more privacy if you tweeted it. Dumb!

You would WEEP if you spent a week in a classroom.  I tried one afternoon to explain the construction of a5 paragraph essay and was met with the blankest, uninterested, hostile reception. My major mistake was thinking these kids WANTED to learn how to express themselves in manner that didn't include the words Fuck, shit and I don't hafta if Idon't wanna.

I work in a doctor's office. I see the gamut of teens with 'tudes. I mean, all teens have 'tudes, but some of 'tudy-er than others. Hat's off to teachers, though, we only get them here for maybe 30 minutes tops once or twice a year and that's once or twice too much!

Car loaning boyfriend. He has to be as 'well-endowed' as Richard Matt for his girlfriend to put up with his crap.

Re: Man bun as white trash hipster-----oh my! To all the man buns or contemplating to be a man bun: don't do it. I get it, you're channeling your inner samurai anime alter ego, but  just don't.

  17. Yeah the Neosporin thing was stupid--especially if she's a Pharmacy tech. That was  testimony embellishment. But for the fact that Pinching Mom pinched the kid, I don't think she would have complained beyond yelling at the principal that Pinching Mom told her daughter to sit properly and stop behaving like a moron. Besides, they get paid for appearing on JJ, so they come away with $10 plus the appearance fee.

And I know the girls think/thought they are the greatest things in the whole world because they're on tv telling JJ (and millions of viewers) how disrespectful and immature they are. Yep, immature. 12 year olds should act like 12 year olds, not 2 year olds having a temper tantrum.  Their irritating behavior does not excuse Pinching Mom from pinching them, because Pinching Mom, as an adult, should be able to control her behavior better than that. But those girls........if they aren't re-trained starting the minute they left the studio, are headed on the wrong path, which will take years to get off if they are lucky.

*steps on the soapbox atop the soapbox I'm already standing* In my world, parents watch JJ with their children and/or discuss these miscreants (AKA JJ litigants), holding them up to their children as "what I do not want to grow up to be" examples.

  18. I feel sorry for Brat's mom. She works 2 jobs as pharmacy tech, so it's not like she's a 'stay at home' mom whose entire income from Byrd's and JJ's taxes. But her parenting philosophy should not be 'if everyone else's kid is moron, then it's okay if I have a moron too'. Her brat knows she can get away with mouthing off to teachers, acting like a moron, etc. because she knows Mom doesn't have the energy to give a rat's ass. You could see the pride and joy in the girl's face when she recounted what she does in class to JJ, who was not amused. And it's not like the girl knew her behavior is inappropriate either.  Brat's mom really needs to stop making excuses and start re-training because the girl is not on the right track.
