When the cop said Elsbeth had cleared three murders, he was talking about the one from the first episode and then the two from this episode, right? At first I was confused and thought he was talking about three murders in this episode and there were only two.

I'm pretty sure the cop explained the third murder was in this episode.  They found the mummified remains of the balcony victim's husband somewhere inside the apartment.  He hadn't left her 30 years ago, as everyone thought in the episode.  She had killed her husband 30 years ago.

I know they’re trying to recreate the original magic with the new batch of interns

I was going to say the new batch of interns isn't interesting, but really, none of them are anymore.

Not that I have anything against older sexy women who are still glowing with youthful genuine sex drive. Just this one. Her sex drive and attitude towards it comes across as false and crass and not out of any real desire for sharing love and joy between two, but more like a well honed act to extract money from men who are targets to manipulations because of their weakness to resist porn.

Erika comes off as the least sexual and definitely least sexy of the Housewives.  It's fake, plastic sexy, not a real sexiness to her.

What I’m most irritated about is the fact that Kyle & Mau’s awful family talk aired AFTER the reunion filmed thus making it impossible for Kyle to be roasted like she deserves (by an audience question obviously, Andy would never). There’s not enough money or fame in world that could justify that conversation being filmed (and they have plenty of both). Regardless of the girls’ ages. It’s a new low, even for her.

Kyle put her own kids' emotions on tv, while refusing to talk about her own or BE HONEST about what's going on with her and Mau.

$45,000 a month for an apartment? And it’s too small? If Alexia is so rich  why doesn’t she own a house already?

Spending over half a million dollars a year in rent doesn't make much sense to me, either.

Do they live in a house now, and are moving to an apartment?  Is that why this place seems small to Alexia?

I loved this scene because they portrayed it in such a genuine way. It made me smile with happiness for them.

I surprised myself by feeling the same way.  All along, I didn't really care either way about them as a couple, except how it might set up a few good scenes between Agnes and Bertha.   But I was charmed by their moment on the stairs, and now I'm rooting for them.

I am rooting for Gladys, too, and don't want her to be sold off to the Duke.  I see no signs that she likes him, and I can't imagine she wants to leave everyone behind in NY to move to England.  But I am looking forward to the fireworks in the Russell house when Bertha's bargain becomes known.

Oskar brought all his troubles on himself, but I'm tired of watching him lose all the time.  I like happy, fun Oskar.  I would have liked to see him and Marion develop more of a relationship, but we didn't get much of that.

I'm glad we did get a lot of events, dinners and parties this season, which meant lots of gorgeous gowns.  I was disappointed by Bertha's, Gladys', and Marian's Met gowns, though.  Neither the colors nor the designs worked for me.

I'm so interested in knowing the actual order of operations here. Did Kyle get wind that Sutton was going to use the cheating rumors as a plot point, and retaliate by bringing up Sutton's drinking? Or, did Sutton get wind that Kyle was going to use "Sutton's a drunk" as a plot point, and retaliate by bringing up the cheating rumors? The editing of the show makes it seem like the former, but perhaps it's the latter?

Regardless, *reclines and lights up a J*, I'm immensely enjoying this season.

I think it has to do with Kathy.  Kyle said earlier this season that Sutton (and Crystal?) is friendly with Kathy and goes to her parties and socializes with her.  And that irritates Kyle, because Kyle is mad at Kathy and expects Sutton to also be mad at Kathy.  Also because Kyle wasn't included, and they didn't miss her one bit.

So Kyle came into the season mad at Sutton about that, and started in with the drinking theme to get back at her and to distract from her Mauricio problems.  But I have no understanding of where his cheating and the fallout and Kyle's new tattoo relationship fall in the timeline of this season.

I liked Christmas on Cherry Lane, too.  I was very confused for a while, but once I saw the years on the screen, each with a different couple on the porch, it was easier to follow.  And it was different!  I love that they tried something new to shake up the usual story lines.  I want to watch it again now that I know who all the people are.

I like the older movies, so was happy to catch some favorites.  A Christmas Melody with Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott...single mom moves back home, and her adorable daughter turns to her handsome music teacher to help her adjust.  Mariah Carey makes an appearance as a bitchy PTA mom (she is not a good actress) who is competitive about the school musical.

Good Morning Christmas! with Allison Sweeney and Marc Blucas is cute.  Two bickering tv hosts are sent to a small Christmas town, and start seeing each other in a new, Christmas light.  I like both actors, so this was fun.

The Christmas Train with Dermot Mulroney and Kimberley Willaims-Paisely is about a writer traveling across the country by train for Christmas, and a group of fellow travelers that bond during the trip.  There's some mystery and a few surprises, but best of all, it has Joan Cusack!

I also liked Time for Us to Come Home.  This one also has Lacey Chabert, who is mysteriously invited to an inn over Christmas, as are some of the other guests.  And there's a handsome owner, of course, and a mystery.

A Country Christmas Harmony with Brooke Elliott was good.  I remembered it from last year, and it was worth a re-watch.  She's a singer who comes back to her hometown after a long absence to work on her career, and runs into her estranged high school sweetheart.

I would agree.  I think he cares for his workers, but more in a "Look at what I've given you, and now you want more?  Why aren't you more grateful?" kind of way.  It struck me as naive that someone who employs child labor doesn't realize that school is either not available, or not a priority, for his workers.  I would also agree that he is not prepared to let people die because of union issues, which I'm sure the other robber barons will see as weakness.

I think he doesn't want headlines about all the dead people he ordered shot at his factory.  Maybe he is thinking of the children, but he's also thinking about Bertha.  It wouldn't help her to attract more people to her opera house if everyone is talking about her husband and the deaths of his workers.

Maybe it's just harder to order the deaths of people when you are standing there looking at them face to face, instead of making those decisions from an office in NY.

  10. Wow, if Annika had to pick the worst way to tell Michael about his daughter, in public on stage at a comedy club would be high on that list.

I think Michael should have done the math himself, but it still must have been such a shock and it didn't have to be a rude one like that.  I don't know how he can forgive her for hiding her daughter from him all these years, and then for telling him about it like it was a bad joke with no thought for his feelings.

Alright, one more grievance. That’s fucked up that Sai is blaming Brynn for “breaking the circle of trust.” Uh, the broken trust was Sai telling both Erin and Brynn after Ubah very clearly told her not to tell anyone—especially Erin. Sai seems to think it’s okay to tell anyone and everyone—just as long as word doesn’t get back to Ubah that others know.

These mean girls don't know what a circle of trust is.  The point of a circle of trust is that you are sharing things about yourself with those in the circle.  It's not where you make a pact to keep it a secret when you all gossip about others behind their backs.

See, I actually think many of them *could* be, in the right context. The main issues are 1) they are too selective about what they show, so we end up seeing very curated characters and 2) most of them don’t actually have organic relationships with each other and don’t seem to particularly care about each other, which makes for boring TV.

I agree with this.  They had potential.  Within their own groups of friends, any of them might be fun to watch.  But none of them are friends, and seemingly don't like or aren't interested in each other enough to become friends.  There aren't any organic relationships or genuine affection, so no one is having much fun.   That makes them hard to watch.

They don't care at all about each other, and they don't have any fun with each other, so that leaves them with bickering and sniping about petty shit.  I can't care about their petty shit if I'm not invested in their relationships.  I can enjoy all the pettiness of Luann feeling insulted by and not wanting to sleep in Dorinda's fish room, but these women jumped straight to sniping without ever making it nice.

  12. Wow, Taylor is the worst at sales.  Did she even know what she was supposedly pitching to Leva?   I'm rooting for Taylor to get her groove back, but she's still in the angry and betrayed phase.  I hope she soon gets to the phase where she realizes she has to put down all this angst to move forward and meet someone better for her.

Shep talking about how progressive it is for "girls" to want careers like it's a new thing was hilarious.   As were his views on lust and love being different...well, yes, they are!  Is he just now getting that?  I think he's afraid no woman will love him as unconditionally as he loves himself, and he really doesn't want to change his lifestyle for anyone, nor answer to anyone.

This thing with Taylor and Austen and Shep is messy.  I'm not sure if the whole thing is fake or just some of it.  I'm pretty sure Shep doesn't care about Taylor, and I don't think he cares about bro code, or he didn't when he slept with Katherine.

I’m also perplexed by the times the whole damn outfit - high, stiletto heeled boots and all, is topped off with a baseball cap.

I never know if it's someone saying, "yes, I am high maintenance, but my baseball cap says I'm down to earth and cool," or "yes, I did just throw on my fur and heels to run the store, doesn't everyone?"

Could also be covering for a bad hair day.

I don’t know why everyone seems to love the black and white floor tile, but it seems to be so popular.  The Beverly Hills wives have it in their places as well. It never seems to match the surrounding furnishings to me.

I think it's because it works as a "neutral" with pretty much any color kitchen.  I'd like her kitchen floor better if it weren't peel-n-stick "tiles."

The fact that Whitfield’s one-bedroom is a rental hasn’t stopped her from making updates—the kind that can be easily reversed when she moves out, at least. The green-tiled floor in her tiny galley kitchen wasn’t her speed, so she found peel-and-stick squares on Amazon to put on top. It only took her a few hours, during which she even took a Zoom call. “I think that day I just told people I’m going to be off video,” she says. Her time-saving trick? Lay all the black pieces down first.

I'm sure she spends more in salons each week than I spend on my monthly mortgage, but Brynn's hair reminds me a Barbie that's been styled by a 5 year old with a scissors. It looks blunt and fake.

Her hair distracts me so much, I can't pay any attention to what she's saying.  Those bangs are the worst.  I don't get it.  Is sticky-outy lawnmower-cut bangs a new trend?

I agree with everything you said. This was maybe the best episode in all the seasons - great final result without anything weird. I just wish they would give purchase price and reno costs like the other shows do. This one had to be a massively expensive renovation since they nearly tore the place apart.

I just saw this one - Cottage on a Cliff - renovating the cottage Scott's friend bought.  But wow, this was not a renovation but a gut rehab and almost total rebuild with entirely new construction.

  17. At first, I liked Neville by default because I hated how mean everyone was to him about his allergies and whatnot.  But now I like him for himself.  He's my favorite, though Poole will always hold a place in my heart.

I also really liked Ruby once I warmed up to her after the first couple of episodes.  I miss her.

    Honestly!!!!

Frankel would have mercilessly ridiculed anyone else in the RHoNY cast showing up looking like this.

She absolutely would have, and wouldn't have felt one bit bad about it.

It's a pretty print, but that dress is a Project Runway mess.  As Nina Garcia would say, "I question her taste level."

  19. Brittany's winning look and Hester's losing look reminded me of those magazine features where they show an expensive designer outfit a celebrity is wearing, and then show "how to get the look for less!"  Except Hester's disaster was the homemade version by someone who is just learning to sew clothes, rather than a knockoff.

Korto, the reason Anna was in the top is that YOU, Kayne, and the other designers who were safe, bored Nina.  Your look was BORING, Korto.  A circle skirt and seatbelt-wide weaving was BORING.  Anna's at least was, um, something, and they rewarded her for making it in her own style, which most of the designers didn't.

I don't know why Laurence came on the show.  Half-assing every challenge as if it's all beneath you makes you filler, not a contender.

  20. I’m trying, but am honestly having trouble with understanding what is going on.  The timelines are confusing, and so far, it seems their problems are all self-inflicted and annoying.  Maybe it will be clear when we finally get to the murder or accident or whatever it is.

I don't think either is the type to pretend their appearance is all natural.

They don't, but they are always cagey about it and rarely tell all they've had done, so it comes off as misleading and dishonest.  I honestly don't care what they do, but it bugs me when asked and they mislead.  There is literally no way they could have transformed the way they did with so little body fat so fast - both of them in the same exact amount of time at the exact same time - without drugs, whether it be prescription or illegal.  At their age, body fat is stubborn as hell and does not simply melt away from every body part including their faces.
