Mika said the polling was off.

Biden went from 7% to 1% on polling day.

Dave Wasseman said pollsters didn't make enough chages to their polling methdology.

Trump did better with black men & latinos.

Biden is up by over 3 million votes. So maybe the percentages are off, but overall, the polls were correct.

The nitpicking of the media over the very thing they use to draw viewers drives me fucking insane.

Kasie said that Biden has a better relationship with the Senate than Obama.

Kasie said that Obama forced through the ACA & Congre was very frustrated with Obama.

Kasie said progressives may not let Biden make deals with Mitch McConnell.

I heard Jake Sherman telling Katy and Aymin this around 4:30 am.   That Biden and McConnell have a somewhat good relationship and Biden will get some deals done.

    Who knows?

I did turn it on for 30 seconds this morning while Joe was bellowing about how Democrats insult the Cuban population of Miami by not kowtowing to them?  So if they're going to vote Republican anyway, what are Democrats supposed to do, Einstein? Reject the party platform so they win one county in Miami?  I don't recall anyone but Joe complaining about Miami/Dade.  I heard not one word about Joe or Kamala or the campaign outright insulting Cuban Americans.

Hey Joe did you see how Biden did with the Hispanic community in the rest of the country?

I think the anger Joe is exhibiting lately has more to do with the precarious position he is in right now, rather than the events of the day.

My sister told me Mika was saying they LOVED being on Peacock and maybe they could be on Peacock more.

Sure knock yourself out. Do us all a favor, go be on Peacock.

I get the feeling this is Mika begging to keep a job once the show's ratings start tanking and Conde decides he's got a full bench of talent and doesn't need the headache of two overpaid egomaniacs.

I post this in case anyone is interested.  I'm not sure how I feel about the parks having to pay them, although the land is now parkland, so that's good.  I don't begrudge them the money, so I'm not sure why it bothers me, but it does.  A little.

They could have donated it to the Park Dept and taken the value of the land as a charitable write off.

Could you please say that again for the people in the back, the media is the worst... My contempt for them has grown exponentially, I just can't with them..

Gladly!! I just saw a Tweet from a reporter and retweeted by Katy Tur.

"The worst thing about this election is that the polls don't accurately reflect how Americans feel, and now Americans don't know how others feel. "
Are they fucking kidding with this bullshit??  The media knows polls don't reflect reality but they need something to get people to turn on the tv. The media knows polls are useless, and that you can get the response you want by asking the right question.

Pearson80 I'm gonna move the rest of this to Small Talk, it's not about the show.

  6. Gosh Joe might have helped if you realized this in 2015.

Maybe stop letting your own ego  & ambition color your opinion of people?

"we were very tough on Trump we never let him say stuff that was outrageous or false, we didn't give him a pass,   we didn't want to go to Mar A Lago, he begged us to come, we wanted an interview and had to go there to talk to him, (phones don't work in FL)

How many lies can I remember off the top of my head?

I think they’re going to feel very lost, because they are largely addicted to [Trump] at this point and that sense of chaos,” said Ariana Pekary, who left MSNBC in July after a nearly seven-year career that included serving as a producer for Lawrence O’Donnell’s evening show.

They'll have to cover more straight news, legislative stuff, etc.

The only channel who will keep ratings is Fox, because they'll be loaded for bear in going after Biden.

  8. There was so much early voting in Indiana that yesterday people were in and out. My friend voted in 8 minutes at a location downtown.

Where I voted on Thursday, a huge church on the north side of Indpls,  on the days when it was nice out, the wait was four hours every day for a week.

Morning Joe started 1 hour earlier than normal. I found the early hour on my DVR.

Mika started off by misreading the electoral votes for Joe Biden. She said he had 220  EV votes when he had 224

I turned on the tv at 5:30 am and saw Joe bellowing about how he's always right and he was right before, blah blah barf.  Turned it off.

The last thing I need this morning is his bullshit.

Joe actually calmed me down considerably this morning...by which I mean, he transformed my heart-rendering scream of existential anguish into a terrified whimper

He certainly was right about not trusting the polls

Except no one was really trusting the polls, everyone knew it was tighter than it appeared.

Joe didn't say anything that the Biden campaign wasn't saying.

Katty Kay said that the polls overestimated support for Democrats. Katty said that Europeans are confused by Trump's political strength.

Except all the votes HAVE NOT BEEN COUNTED.  They're counting Election Day votes first, instead of early and absentee/mail in votes.  Last I heard Joe Biden was 3 million votes ahead, and that's without a lot of votes counted, so maybe the polls aren't that wrong.

In 2018, it took a week for the Blue Wave to show itself.

Perhaps the media could, oh I don't know, SHUT THE FUCK UP. Let the votes be counted.

I guess NBC is going for younger people with this site; I stream a few things but my family (the younger ones) does not have Dish or cable.  They stream everything.  I guess Peacock wanted Star Power! for their first-time election coverage.  And you cannot get much more Star Power! than The Twins.  In their own minds.

Except you can stream MSNBC live from the website. I tried to watch Peacock news live but the people on in the morning are pretty blah. Bless their hearts.

My BF Joshua is going to be on so I may tune in for a minute.

Williams parts (he was at a weird desk, far away??)

He still broadcasts from home I believe.  He may be on set tonight.

Brian has done a lot to come back from his problem with misremembering the story about being in Iraq. TBH, I would imagine going thru that it's easy to get confused as to what happened, he was on one helicopter in a group and the other one took on enemy fire,  he certainly didn't have any reason to lie about the experience, he's well known for going places that could be dangerous to report.

Unlike the bullshit Joe has pulled and hasn't even gotten a slap on the wrist.

Brian's show is now very highly rated.   He got 2.1 million viewers recently, Joe gets about 1.3 million.  So one million more people are staying up til midnight to watch Brian, and people who get up in the morning anyway, aren't watching Joey. Yikes.

Thus the reason Brian is hosting on MSNBC tonight and Joe & Mika are on Peacock.

I still love Joe and Mika, idk, they're a comforting part of my morning, but I'd wish they'd step it up a little on special occasions, when everyone else is. Still find it nuts they won't even reunite them on election night, when rumor has it, they live in the same house (?). But maybe its a complicated thing to do idk.

Neona my love your ability to endure this insanity is at Saint level.   Do we need to schedule an intervention?

Yes I turn it on because I'm a Taurus and we're nothing if not creatures of habit to the point of not realizing something better is out there, but just as quickly flip on Netflix and watch my friends Josh and Toby and Donna and CJ save the world.

I know my sister thinks I'm obsessed with these two knuckleheads but it just infuriates me that there is so much talent at MSNBC and this is the best they can do for a three hour political talk show.

FOR FUCK SAKE. It is Election Day 2020 and they couldn't even stay on live at 8 am!!!!

Here's what I'm wondering. Will Joshua Johnson, who actually does host on Peacock in the afternoon news show, (I know this becos I follow him on Twitter and he tweeted about it yesterday, asking "if you're watching let us know if you like the show or what we can do better", words we will NEVER in a bazillion years come out of Joe's mouth), if they have Joshua on MSNBC tonight and JoMika are on Wayne's World Bargain Basement Election Coverage.

I don't get the decision to have Joe and Mika on Peacock.  Brian Williams is the prime time star of MSNBC, and the network spends a lot of money on the studio, graphics, and music.  It seems to me that Joe could have had a role on that broadcast with color commentary( the Chris Matthews spot).  Chris would talk about his people in Philly.  There were lots of references to his blue collar roots and his old boss Tip O'Neill.  Having lived in Pennsylvania,  I always Chris comforting and familiar.   There is no one currently on MSNBC who can fill that gap.

Chris is second only to Joe in interrupting people.  Brian actually comes from a blue collar background in New Jersey.

NBC spent a shit ton of money launching Peacock, and it has a news division, so I guess they felt they should have election night covered.  I cannot imagine the conversation that went on when they either told Joe he would do this, or he brought up being on the panel at MSNBC and they told him, no you can host the coverage on Peacock.

Peacock TV: The RC Cola of election coverage.  Featuring Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. The New Coke & Edsel of Political Pundits.

  17. Kemper  I had to fill out an affidavit because I never received my mail in ballot, to certify that I wasn't committing fraud.

I told the poll worker "you don't really think I would stand in the rain for 2 hours if I'd already voted do you?"  She laughed and said, God I hope not.

Actually, the first days of early voting were fun; everyone was excited to vote.  Chatty, happy, everyone nice to one another.  By the second week it had devolved into meanness and ill-will.  I've been doing this for at least 4 election cycles; and I have never been as disillusioned about my fellow man.  However.

That's a shame. I just voted last week and I'm not a poll worker but as people left they were being friendly, asking how the lines were etc. State Farm had a little booth set up with coffee and a woman was walking around handing out snacks and water.

  19. I loved how Mika said "and we are honored to be hosting Election Night on Peacock".   Because if we know Joey, he threw a fit and she's trying to smooth things over with the big brass. Otherwise why would she say something like that?

Mika reminded viewer to tune into Peacock TV. There will be a Pulitzer Prize winning guest & a Historian.

Donny Deutsch & Mike Barnicle will provide analyis.

Boy if that doesn't get people to tune in I don't know what will.  Blech

Joe's little subtext digs while talking about concession speeches.  OMFG "how wonderful was Nixon when he conceded, even tho he knew that Kennedy rigged Illinois".  Really Joe?  You want to talk about crooked politics and you bring up Nixon as honorable because he conceded?    All the Republicans conceding were SOOO elegant and Al Gore, who was stiff as a board, suddenly became Cicero.

"MY message to Biden and Trump".  Yeah I have a message for you Joe, plan what you're going to do when your little shit show's ratings start plummeting and Cesar Conde decides to replace your stupid ass.

Regarding Joe's lies, found this little bit of info on Politifact:

    https://www.politifact.com/personalities/joe-scarborough/

Joe's really good at telling half truths.

And Shep isn't doing much for CNBC. Apparently he started with 250K viewers and by week 3 lost almost 100K. NBC viewers across all the networks don't have much patience for anyone coming from that shop. New Tide Pods couldn't get the stain off these people.

Of everyone on Fox, he's probably the most tolerable, but I think people have their shows they watch and it doesn't occur to turn on CNBC.

NBC/MSNBC/Comcast is still trying to be all things to all people, but I don't think it's going over.   Nicole would probably be the most popular "former" Republican or whatever they call themselves in this era.  And her success is due to her being pleasant, smart, fun and, shocker, allowing her guests to talk .

Believe it or not Joe, watching you be an asshole to everyone isn't that much fun for anyone.

Joe started yelling at all the Trump supporters that block traffic in NY & NJ. He said that they are behaving like Democrats who riot & loot.

Really Joe?  Are we still trying to push this bullshit? People who were looting and burning did not announce their political affiliation, and quite a few were found to be from conservative groups who were trying to get the protesters arrested, because they themselves were arrested.

It's obvious Joe is shitting his pants that if Biden is elected, his little ratings gravy train comes to a screeching halt.

I was talking to a friend on Thursday while standing in line in the rain to vote (yep, I did it, Joe, just for you). He and his husband watch MJ like we do.  He hates Joe's bullshit and his ego and can't understand why Joe and Mika weren't smacked down by management for their irresponsible behavior in 2016, as well as just the quality of the show in the last year.
