  1. On behalf of all Italian Americans in the NY tri-state area...I apologize for Stephanie's friend.

Listen, I can be very upfront and abrasive around my family and friends...ESPECIALLY my family (70 of us go on vacation together each year, my cousins and I are crazy close). We are loud AF, talk over each other, are constantly hugging and gesturing wildly.

However, the way I act with my family/close friends when together and the way I act with other people is NOT the same. There is no way in HELL I would conduct myself like that in a conversation with anyone. This is not your family in your home. Be an adult and have a respectful conversation, for goodness sake. You're not in the kitchen for Sunday dinner with your relatives. Being an Italian NYer is no excuse for acting ugly and rude.

On a side note, what world are we living in where Lisa comes across as sane, dispensing good advice?

There is no way in hell that Ed's daughter actually watched this season. If she did, that was just major displaced anger on her part towards Rose.

When you think of Narcisstic Personality Disorder, you don't think it would look like Lisa, but I'm pretty sure that's what's happening there.

I'm bored and looking for the link to that 10 hour leak, anyone know if one is still working?

Nevermind  the link at the top works!  Thank you.

My dad has NPD (diagnosed by multiple therapists. Childhood was a joy, if you were wondering).

Lisa doesn't ping my NPD radar at all. She'd also likely be able to hold it together better while being filmed, if she had NPD. People with NPD tend to be very aware when they have an audience, which the cameras/crew most certainly are.

I think there are opportunities to continue after college in similar ways. Coaching, performing in a circus, performing in a theme park (have you seen Festival of the Lion King at Disney World?) , teaching yoga, owning a studio or gym, being a brand spokesperson or a motivational speaker. A business degree or a physical fitness or therapy degree would be a perfect complement.

As far as Monica not caring too much about injuries, she should definitely not have let that kid participate with a hurt back. As for the other injuries, she’s pretty focused on division of labor. She’s not going to be assessing injuries as that’s not her job. She did mention that keeping her cool is very important to prevent everyone from panicking.

As someone who worked in Disney World, while FOTLK is a great show, and the actors definitely get paid more than your hourly front line cast members on stage (I think they're equity), but I'm not entirely sure it's a great living. I'll have to ask some of my friends who used to work it.

Also ridiculous was when they couldn't get Varsity TV to stream on their phones and Gabi's mom said she would just call Gabi. Sure, she's just at nationals waiting to compete but I'm sure the way she wants to spend her warm up time is helping her technologically inept mother figure out how to use an app.

That's why I laughed my ass off when they cut to Lexi's family, Jerry's family, and someone else watching without a problem. I mean, honestly, they probably had someone from production just log in and then hand over the phones to the parents but it still made me laugh.

See, I felt like that was all bullshit. Her family lives in Florida, you know damn well they were at that competition live.

  5. Gabi's parents are total narcissists, right down to the barging into her shower to get an answer RIGHT NOW. Zero boundaries with them. I recognize it because my dad has NPD. I feel for her.

On a shallow note, her mother's lisp was driving me nuts.

I'm appalled that skipping kids up a grade level is still done.  Riley is tiny and younger than the other kids, no matter how bright she is.  This is done because schools have no idea what to do with bright kids.  Instead of putting out the effort to challenge the brighter kids, it's easier to just bump them up with older kids.  My sister was skipped two half-grades and paid a price for it.  She was a senior in high school at fifteen and graduated at 16 -- right into 1969.  They wanted to skip me too, but I was small and by then my parents had wised up.  The schools need to find a way to challenge these kids at their age and maturity level.

As a NY teacher, I'm shocked.  It isn't done here.

With all the money she has spent tearing apart a perfectly nice house on renovations she could have bought 2 mansions already.  Even at Long Island prices.  In addition to the shopping addiction, she seems to have a renovation addiction as well.  Plus an aversion to change.  She manages to spend tons of money on looking exactly the same and living in exactly the same place.  I'll bet she has 15 pairs of shoes that look exactly the same too.

I know, and speaking of looking like shit, Tatum looks like shit too.  I know she struggled with drugs when younger and it probably has caught up with her appearance-wise.  I was actually kind of shocked to see her looking so bad at 55 years old.  I had only seen her a couple of years ago on TV and she looked much better.  I read that she had spinal surgery earlier this year.

When Victoria had tests done last year and found out she had a high testosterone level I thought perhaps she could have PCOS, which can cause sudden weight gain.  I wonder if she ever followed up on that.  She actually looks like she's lost a few pounds since then and made mention of being on a "wedding diet" so hopefully she'll lose a few more.  I couldn't believe the fugly dress they both loved for her engagement party.  I thought she looked like crap in it, plus who wants to look like a bride at their engagement party?  I think part of the problem with Victoria is that like a lot of women her age these days, she dresses like crap and has no idea how to flatter her own figure.  At the very least she needs a professional bra fitting because those girls are hangin' mighty low for her age.

I can just see the wedding ahead.  I've been to some of those Italian American weddings out on the Island and let me tell you, they pull out all the stops.  With Theresa's money funding it, I'm sure they'll spend a pretty penny.  I agree that the family stuff is far more interesting than any of the readings, which are repetitive and by now I'm figuring out all her "cold reading" tricks.  Still, she manages to come out with some pretty astonishing and specific stuff that no one knows except the person she's reading.

Italian American Long Islander here who just got married a year ago! I'm laughing, since I did get married on the island. 250 guests.

Also, my friend Tori was one of the sisters who owns Harbor Bridal whose dad passed away on 9/11. Came over to this end of the forums because I was curious to see what people were saying about that reading.

Don't give her too much credit. If it's one of the first days they're there, they are likely still on their regular time zone, so it wasn't really waking up that early.

Any guesses how much a wedding like that cost? I wonder how much MTV paid toward it. Is it possible they paid for the whole thing?  The food looked amazing.  I wonder why Gianni wasn't there.

Post pregnancy hormones?  This was not long after she gave birth, correct?

That's what I was thinking. She's what, only a couple of months postpartum? In the rant she says that she wants to be home with her babies. It's probably a situation where she might not want to do it anymore, but the money is too good to pass up.

Hormones are no jokes. I'm on meds now since we're having trouble getting pregnant, and I woke my husband up with my sobs at 4 am the other morning (sorry, dude). I'm freaking unhinged right now, I can't imagine how I'd be after I gave birth and filming a reality show. Especially because these people have a decade of past history together. Who knows WTF really goes on.

I liked the castle.  I actually thought it was beautiful and would be a great venue for a wedding. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got a kick out of the grooms dinner being at RAILS!!! 🤣🤣🤣. Then to top it off, Mike eating off another party’s buffet by accident.  I swear it’s the little things like this that make me laugh way too hard, and why I can’t quit this group.

    You're from Jersey, aren't you? 😉

The Rails thing KILLED ME. I wonder if they hid the knives?

Yeah that place is like a Vegas version of European palace, a mish mash of styles.

Certainly is nothing like what we're used to in the US.

But not much like what you'd see in Europe either.

If they had a bigger budget, either Mike/Laurens or MTV or both, they could have done a destination wedding in Italy itself.

But they didn't have the time either before Mike had to report to prison.

I don't think that the budget was the issue with them at all. It's very common in Italian American families for the bride's parents to pay for a substantial part of, or all of the wedding. Do we know what her parents do/what they're worth? It's pretty rare for both families to contribute absolutely nothing.

Destination weddings are cheaper than weddings in the US. I have friends who got married in Italy, and they weren't reality TV stars.

I don't think the budget was the issue at all with this one, it was more the time factor involved.

I have no idea how and why I can actively dislike someone so dull.

All I can think of watching this mess is what a damn genius Lauren Conrad is. She used it to build recognition, get some licensing deals and make bank with relatively little damage to her adult personal life.

She honestly is. I think she had good parents who helped guide her, too. I listen to her podcast, and IDGAF if she's boring, I love her.

I think that venue they're using is extra.  I forget the name of it but it's suppose to look like some Italian Renaissance palace.

If you go to Italy, the palazzi are not so blingy, unless it's been renovated by some rich foreigner

I'm not ruling out that Mike and Laurens really wanted to go all-out and that what they will show is really what they wanted.

It just looks like the venue and the things they plan are kind of made for TV.  I wonder if those fancy wedding venues would sign the clearance for TV shows to film there unless they're getting paid a lot of money for it.

That venue IS really extra. It's peak NJ for ya. I did a 100 year old historical home for mine. I didn't want a "wedding factory" type feel. They got married at a total wedding factory. https://thelegacycastle.com/

Personally, not my taste at all. But knowing NJ Italians, I could TOTALLY picture Mike and Lauren picking this type of place, even if they weren't filming. I'm sure the venue would be signing clearances for it...the more the venue is featured on TV, the more their name will get out there, and the more customers they're going to have. More customers = higher demand = they can charge higher prices.

Their venue charges $300 per head on Saturday nights during wedding season. Their business partners with Albert Manzo from the Real Housewives of New Jersey. He has his own catering hall, the Brownstone, which was really popular before the housewives existed. Two of my cousins got married there.

I kind of think that the Legacy Castle looks gaudy, but that's just me. It's not a real representation of Italy at all, and I think that Mike was just making those comments because they COULDN'T go to Sicily and get married...more for emphasis than the fact that the thought he was actually getting something that would resemble what his Italian wedding would have been like. I could be wrong about this situation, though 😉

Did Laurens want that Bridezilla wedding or did MTV offer to supersize whatever plans they had as long as the whole cast is involved and they could film the preparations as well as the event?

Paulie said NJ weddings are over the top so she might have wanted this.  But she wants a bigger home before Mike goes to serve his time.

So maybe they faced a cash flow problem until they could cash a few more MTV checks.

So his season is about the wedding and ends with Mike going into prison, next season would be him coming out?

As for Ronnie, he probably decided to show up because the wedding was going to be a big part of the season so if he wanted to get paid, he’d have to show up.

They could all play the roles and make jokes about Ronnie’s messy life but some of them sincerely seem to want to give him tough love.  If they just had a working relationship, they wouldn’t want to get involved in each other’s lives.

But would Mike put all the other cast members in his wedding party if there was no show?  I’m sure he has real life friends and family and as he said, he wasn’t even invited to Nicole or Jenny’s wedd8ngs.

I'm an Italian Long Island NYer. Not Jersey, but close enough. Some of my cousins are from Jersey.

Weddings here are a BIG DEAL. The NY metro area is the most expensive area of the entire nation to have a wedding. The average is over $70k. That's normal.

I has 250 guests, a 12 piece band, open bar (always standard at weddings here), 8 hot stations for cocktail hour (cocktail hour is practically a bigger deal than the plated dinner around here)...and it was totally normal.

Had I not been online in wedding planning/shaming Facebook groups with people from other parts of the country and around the world, I would never realize that weddings everywhere weren't like this.

I am not one to ever make excuses for Cate and Tyler, but the fact that you haven't had a vacation in years doesn't really prove that Cate is being ridiculous, here. Vacations actually make you more productive in the workplace. The amount of vacation days that most US employees get is ridiculously low compared to other nations. You SHOULD go on a vacation every so often, if you can afford it.

I may be veering off-topic here, but do doctors not agree on whether pcos causes infertility?  I have pcos and I was always assured that I can have kids - none of my doctors (I have had several obgyn doctors) ever even brought it up as a possibility.

I did have to modify my diet when I was trying to get pregnant with my first - I know that pcos can be worse with a diet of sugar/carbs.  So, I stopped eating all carbs (it was hard) and I got pregnant.

I wonder why they picked Boca.  I mean, it's nice but not the first place I would think of for a wild mom's trip.  Not like these ladies get wild.  Maybe because they missed out on the college experience, they don't know how to whoop it up?

Side note: I went to the doctor on Thursday. They actually think that it's PCOS. It really does depend on your body.

I do like that you referenced whoop it up. Just giggled.

Half the internet claims their parents are narcissists.

I don’t think Amber is a sociopath, she’s never actually achieved anything above the board or by being shady.

Some sort of cluster B nightmare perhaps.

My dad actually does have narcissitic personality disorder. Diagnosed by three therapists (who he only agreed to go to because he wanted to help *me* with all of *my* issues, of course).

I know what you're saying, but the internet has been really helpful for me in terms of dealing with and accepting my dad's NPD. True NPD is really rare, and most people don't even believe you or don't know how to react when they learn of the horrific things your NPD parent does to you, because it's inconceivable to them.

I started to blame myself less and make peace with it when I read other people's accounts and started seeing the patterns. I think that people who deal with NPD family members seek places on the internet as safe spaces and comfort.

Ack! That's seriously scary. Do you remember what surgical procedure she had done?

In terms of Botox and Fillers, I think it should be required that doctors use other methods when injecting.

You know how when you go to the eye doctor and you have to rest your chin in that contraption before the doctor starts fiddling around with the gadgets to look at your eyes? They should use something like this for botox and fillers. I don't know anyone that has ever gotten injections in real life, I've only seen it on TV shows - but the doctor is never standing straight in front of the patient - they are always on the side. They should have this sort of contraption, even if it is made adjustable so that it is over the patients face while she's in a reclining position.

No wonder all of these women look lopsided or get the one eye is bigger than the other eye look.

You can't make anything symmetrically appealing when you're shooting from the side.

You can't lay down when you get Botox, and you're not supposed to lay down for many hours after you get Botox, either. There's a reason everyone is sitting straight up.
