There's still no definitive proof Jon is even dead. Forget rising from the dead, he may not even be dead. Seriously wounded? Unconscious? Comatose even. And yes, possibly dead. But there are all sorts of factors going with those wounds and the circumstances Jon is in (cold weather, layers of clothing, is he wearing mail, etc). Good chance he's dead? Sure. But just as good a chance he's just incapacitated. As for the PL, I have no clue who wrote it as there is no one who has every piece of info from that letter. Some things Ramsey can't know, some things Mance can't know, some things Stannis can't know, some things Mel can't know. While reading it never occurred to me that the author was anyone other than Ramsey just lying through his teeth. Didn't sink in there were things in the letter Ramsey couldn't know. So then I was like, well who the hell knows everything mentioned and the fact is, no one does. And we truly don't know Jon's plan. I think those two hours with Tormund are important. He was breaking his vows of course but a good lawyer could easily argue a threat to the LC (which is what the PL is) is a threat to the Watch itself. The Wall can't be defended from the south. Jon going out to meet the threat rather than waiting for it to come was spwise. But we all know this was Jon finally saying "fuck this shit. I'm choosing Arya and going to save my sister and kick Ramsey's ass." But I think there's more to it. The Caesar moment was obviously thought of beforehand but clearly not planned for the moment it happened. The timing of that was as stupid as every imaginable fuck.

I thought moon tea is really falling more along the lines of what Plan B is. Something that makes it truly less likely to happen but still not 100% effective. Just better than taking nothing at all. A hybrid abortifacient/contraceptive, yes? Asha will be an interesting case due to having banged Qarl, mentioning she'll need to brew some moon tea to cover herself then getting captured by Stannis so - no moon tea for you! Edit: ninja'd on the Asha point lol

Lol! I remember getting to Alys Karstark and just going "what the hell is happening?!" She's awesome though. Another of my favorite minor characters. Are you getting why we told you season 5 in the north was basically AU? There's so much happening there that I was just waiting to happen in season 5 and it was a big fat NOPE

Ohhhh yes!! Finally got to Manderly's badassery and the true meaning of "the north remembers". You have no idea how pissed people were that this was not in season 5. This and that Jon chapter you just mentioned is the beginning of you realizing that most of what you saw for the north in the show is pretty much AU. THIS is when you start to see the awesome that is the northern plot line in the books. Plus not for shimpy

It's funny because as I was reading it never occurred to me to wonder whether (f)Aegon was real or not. I was mostly focused on his impact of the story and what it meant for all the other plotlines. It wasn't until afterwards that I stopped to think, wait a tick... There are some things we can't touch on yet concerning whether he's real/not real because shimpy is still reading and hasn't gotten to those points yet. Not for shimpy But I agree that there was no way to have that level of foresight to think of a baby switch beforehand. Afterwards once knowing the infant's face was destroyed beyond recognition, it's probably easy to find another boy around the same age and raise him to be Aegon. I am of the mind that he's a fake but the only ones who know he's a fake are Illyrio and Varys. I think even he believes he's the real deal. I also think we the audience will never know for sure if he was real or not. I do think he'll end up on the IT, bringing peace to the realm, just in time for his pissed off aunt with the three large fire breathing lizards to come and start another civil war as she'll be convinced he's a fake. Hence, Dance of the Dragons v. 2.0.
