Him and Scott are cut from the same cloth, got to be needed. An accomplished woman with a career and a good head on her shoulders would make them go limp.
And as someone with issues with my mother putting other people ahead of me, that scene of Lizzie running right past her daughter, who she hasn't seen in over 10 years, hit me right in the gut. And when she did acknowledge her it was awkward af. Poor Jasmyne (?) is so desperate for a relationship with that b*tch. She really needs to cut her losses and distance herself.

I haven't been on this forum in forever but I'm sitting here watching on DVR while having my coffee and I was so impressed by how good the ep was I logged in to see what some of the PTV'ers thought of it and...apparently none of you enjoyed it as much as I did LOL. Not even the America's Got Talent sketch? Cecily as Nell breaking out into Send In The Clowns?! Come on guys that's good stuff.
Totally agree with a previous poster about Maggie Rogers being a welcome change from the Kanye's and Travis Scott's...I really liked the 2nd song.

Haven't been on PTv boards as much this season. Mostly following the BB20 hashtag on Twitter and a couple Youtubers who cover it. Hadn't seen any mention of Sam's "I'll take a piece of each of you" until this board so this has been a coming home of sorts for me *sniff sniff*

Super duper late but I don't have Showtime and I'm currently bingeing on Netflix. The oldest son Colin, that looks exactly like Tom Hanks, has a different mother. I live in Berkeley and although hella is still around, it’s a lot less pervasive than it was 10-20 years ago. But the reason I buy the lack of hella on this show is that with a few exceptions (mainly Justin) the main characters are very suburban trenagers (heh, although you could argue at this point, suburban teenagers are more likely to use slang like hella!). Even though Oakland and SF aren’t that far away, these kids might as well be living in any suburban neighborhood in America because they are so untouched by SF and Oakland.
What caught my ear was that when Tony and Clay were talking about going to look for Justin in Oakland, they kept referring to it as the city. Up here, the city always means SF. In local newspapers, SF is often referred to in print as The City. Even people who live way out in the burbs like Walnut Creek or Livermore (and for whom Oakland is closer) know that terminology and call SF “the city.” No one ever refers to Oakland as the city. I’m guessing this was the show’s attempt to make the show seem a little more generic/less location specific and they intended it to come off as “we live in this little town and Justin is in The Big Scary City” but they kind of ruined that by specifically telling us that he was in Oakland.
Realistically, I think that the show is trying to be presented as more timeless so that it won’t be one of those shows/movies that ages badly, but I agree that if you live within 100 miles of NorCal, these little things are noticeable.
True about hella being less pervasive now than 10-20 years ago. I'm in Sac and although I'm not a native, I first lived here in the early 00's in my college years and recently came back to the area and I'm not around a lot of teenagers so maybe they don't say it as much. I had the same issue with Ladybird, but that's a whole other discussion lol.
I didn't catch them referring to Oakland as the City and I just referenced it as "The Town" in my original post.
Good point about making it more timeless, I guess that's what a lot of other shows are going for as well.

So how old is Tony's boyfriend supposed to be? I mean how many attractive, sweet, kind, loving grown men are trying to be serious with a high school kid unless they're up to some R. Kelly shenanigans or are a recent graduate and they knew each other before. That's the thing about having grown ass adults playing teenage characters, they look similar in age because the actors probably are, hell Tony looks older than him, so the difference isn't as glaring as it could be in real life.
But we're supposed to think its cute. If it was an older guy with one of the girls, it would be yet another melodramatic plot point.

Those "street" kids in Oakland <face palm> nope and nope. I know the "Town" is more gentrified as of late but damn! This was so off it was laughable. And a show about a high school set in NorCal (and I'm guessing the bay area) where the word "hella" is not even uttered once in 2 seasons. That kind of stuff takes me out. But its rare that a show really gets it right with area specific slang and authentic portrayals of how teenagers actually speak so they're not alone.

Saddened? This is one of the greatest/funniest talking breakdowns in the history of music (The beginning of Shirley Brown's "Woman to Woman" is a close second). I didn't think SNL did it justice. The original is waaaaayyyy funnier lol.

I co-sign this lol. I also wonder if other actors have had to turn down opportunities while they were able to lessen her role to work around the BP/Infinity War filming schedule. Might be some salty feelings if so. Things that make you go hmmm.
Between Maggie's pay issues (Ezekial also gave her a shoutout about that on Twitter) and some of the hard feelings expressed by former cast members, all doesn't seem well in TWDville.

Sooooo I'm watching again for the first time since the wedding episodes and...no commentary from the matchmakers!!! Who's gonna tell us how difficult X situation is for any couple but especially for these couples who are married without having known each other before? The producers must've listened the audience. Wow expected this board to be full of Black Panther posts lol. I've never liked the Michonne character as much as alot of fans but Danai was so excellent in BP and took such command of the screen its almost gonna be a letdown when TWD returns and I'm back to being meh about her. I looked at some of TWD twitter accounts and the creator and producers showed BP love but the only actor who did was King Ezekial...seemed odd.
So basically she's no longer Michonne to me, straight up Okoye all day.

Could not agree more. Dratch was one of the unsung heroes of SNL with so many classic characters. Unfortunately no hit TV series or thriving film career post show. <insert Debbie Downer wah wah here>

Wasn't there a similar incident in a previous season where someone partook and the producers pulled them aside and were telling them they might get real charges for doing so? Stephanie is just getting high and having a ball and there hasn't been any mention of it. Or maybe there has and I missed it.

No offense at all but I chuckled at this question as this is a blackety-black show and Jill Scott is one of the biggest R&B stars of this century. Oh yeah "we" know exactly who that was lol. I'm not much of a superhero fan and damn sure don't watch the CW but I really like this show. There's an unforced authenticity that was missing from Luke Cage for me. Also, does Cress Williams age? I just saw him in an old re-run of Living Single from 25 years ago and he looks exactly the same.
Anybody else feeling the albino dude? His voice and the way he talks....I like his whole swag. Seeing him I can't help but think how this role may not have open to somebody like him 10, 20 years ago and thank God for this push for diversity, even when we do have to march, kick and scream for it.

The OJ series set the bar high and this episode wasn't even as good as episode 1. Still kinda digging it as I graduated high school and started college in 97 and seeing the stories behind these news stories from back then is fascinating.
I was actually really impressed with Max Greenfield as Ronnie. I liked his turn in AHS Hotel and wanted to see more of him there. Never got into New Girl from from the little I saw of that, I can see he's completely different here.
Anybody else think there will be a Sarah Paulson cameo?

I just watched the 1st look so I'm getting a little ahead but Monie showed a lot of growth in this argument with the twins. Nobody got monie-tized lol. They were way outta line and she handled herself like a grown, mature woman not like a rabid animal.

Hi fellow Sacramentan! Kim lives around the corner from me in Midtown and my apt building was prominently featured several times in the background lol. I was like Nev and Max were right here and I missed them noooooo. Not to mention the guy from the episode before was in Sac and they met up at Miller Regional Park a mile away.

Just peeked into the Bachelor/ette forums again after bouncing halfway through Rachel's season and all of the politicized back and forth that happened during that. And don't even get me started on the BIP Corinne/DeMario disaster. Sooooo glad to see this season bringing us back to the LOL's I come here for. Everyone is back in fine form...special shoutout to JudyObscure.
Is this the 1st season where there's been re-enactments? I'm all the way here for it bwahahahaha.
And the dumped one-on-one girl that said it was such a "ride or die night" oh girl. That's not the context for that term. She sounded like my mom trying to be cool smh.

On the contrary, I think there would be a huge contreversy among Black women if there was a show like this with Black men. There's currently some talk of people boycotting Black Panther because Michael B Jordan has a non black girlfriend. This is silly of course, but I see this happening much more than in reverse. I've always seen relationships between black women and non black men much more accepted than the other way around. Robert De Niro deals almost exclusively with sisters its like "oh he likes the chocolate" lol. OJ likes white women, he has an "appetite for white women" which is seen as sinister...ok maybe not the best example. I mean how many brothers have been beaten or killed behind the slightest implication of an attraction to a white woman where as we have been free game. I'm going a little too deep for this show but anywhoo...at the end of the day, love who you love. I personally am about that black on black love and "smh" as you put it, seeing yet another example of putting white men (Italian specifically in this case) on a pedestal while putting down black men in the process. If they all expressed a long held preference that would be one thing but every one of them has some "my (black) man done me wrong" story so now I'm coming over here and seeing what these Italians are all about. Fair enough but underneath it all is a jab at brothers. It's a discussion to be had for sure, but on Bravo though? Just my opinion.

Dead at this succession of sentences.
Vegas Brittany was shockingly articulate and seemingly level-headed for someone participating on this show. The season preview shows them having some issues in coming episodes but who knows, those crazy kids just might make it.
Scott had a moment of clarity that he won't follow through with but its ok because Lizzie will bounce as soon as she can. That valley girl affect of hers is nails on a chalkboard coming from a 40+ year old woman from the Midwest, like girl, please, just no. And I would love to hear from her prison baes to see what they think of her lol.
